On the way back to New York, Peter kept thinking about a question.

What should we do with Sif?

He couldn't possibly have her following him around all the time, could he? Putting aside what Gwen and Felicia would think, her inquisitive nature alone would be enough to give him a hard time.

On the flight from New Mexico back to New York, Sif hardly stopped talking.

For this curious little girl, the more she learns about the Earth, the more she discovers that there are just too many interesting things about it.

This caused Peter to have a particular background music playing on repeat in his head:

Watching Sif holding a hamburger in her left hand and a toy gun drumstick in her right, eating with ketchup all over her mouth without even bothering to wipe it off.

Peter was both helpless and amused, thinking to himself, "Dude, I'll get you some Chinese food after we land, and some milk tea and spicy snacks too. You'll be ready to take off right then and there!"

Upon landing in New York, the first thing Peter did was use his authority as the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. to create a complete Earth identity for Sif.

Name: Sif Odinsdottir.

Nationality: Norwegian.

Occupation: Special Consultant for S.H.I.E.L.D.

When Sif received the ID card, which still smelled of ink, she was completely bewildered.

"What...is this for?"

"A pass to live on Earth." Peter shoved a stack of documents into her hand expressionlessly. "Without this, you can't even find a place to stay."

Sif: "Why don't I just stay at your place?"

"That's a good idea, but don't think about it again!"

To avoid startling Uncle Ben and Aunt May, and to prevent Sif from following him around like a curious child, asking all sorts of questions,

Peter immediately put Sif into S.H.I.E.L.D. upon landing, leaving the trouble to Hill.

The reasons given were quite plausible—

"You say you want to understand me, then you have to understand the world I live in first. The culture, rules, and interpersonal relationships of this earth—you have to learn all of these from scratch."

"And S.H.I.E.L.D. missions allow you to quickly access all aspects of Earth."

Sif thought about it and realized that what she said made a lot of sense.

"And what about you?"

"I'm the bureau chief, I have my own work to do, and I also have to go to school."

"Go to school? I want to go too!"

It took Peter ten minutes to explain to Sif that if she wanted to go to school, she would have to sit at the same table as little kids under 12 years old in elementary school.

This finally dissuaded her from going to university with him.

"Then... when will I be able to see you again? Do you remember? I still have to keep a close eye on you to see if you can be a marriage partner."
