Marvel: I became an ancestor by sacrificing offerings.

Chapter 21 Are there really superheroes this narcissistic?

Peter could more or less guess what Gwen was thinking at that moment.

Just like in Maguire's Spider-Man, when Peter first gained his superpowers, he didn't think about fighting evil immediately.

Instead, he only wanted to use this special ability to make money in underground arenas, and then buy a used convertible to pursue Mary Jane.

As for becoming a superhero? What's that? Can you eat it?

Clearly, Gwen had similar thoughts at this point.

Her choice to become a masked hero was influenced not only by her father but also, more importantly, by the vanity typical of teenagers.

Last night was her superhero debut.

One can imagine that she didn't sleep well at all after she got home last night, and was looking forward to seeing her own legend on the front page of the newspaper and in the discussions of her classmates this morning.

The results of it?

The fledgling Spider-Man was robbed of her own headlines; there wasn't even a tiny news item about her.

No wonder she's upset!

Now that the root of the problem has been identified, Peter naturally knows how to cure it.

"Hey Gwen, stop reading those old-fashioned print news articles! Look at this!"

Peter patted Gwen on the shoulder and handed her his phone, which contained a picture of a ghost spider that he had specially downloaded from his computer the day before.

They are currently in 2009, and Tony Stark has not yet mysteriously disappeared. Therefore, the world's technology is still quite backward.

Despite having companies like Osborn Group with outrageously skewed technological development, smartphones have yet to become widespread.

This is also an industry that Peter has been planning to develop. Apple doesn't exist in this world, but with the right amount of funding, he believes he can replicate Apple's business empire in the Marvel universe.

However, he hasn't even made his first fortune yet, so building a business empire by selling mobile phones is a long way off...

Hearing Peter's loud and boisterous voice, Gwen listlessly raised her head, her eyes filled with a hint of resentment.

Can't you tell I'm in a bad mood? You big jerk, who are you grinning at?!

However, when she saw the specific photos on Peter's phone, her expression immediately underwent a complete 180-degree change.

Because the photos on her phone showed her agile figure as she fought for justice last night!

Gwen shifted her body unconsciously, and after a moment of hesitation, asked with a curious expression:

"who is she?"

Little brat, you're quite the actor!

After mentally complaining, Peter pretended to be excited and started playing house with Gwen.

While it's impossible to keep it a secret from Gwen forever, teasing little Gwen is still quite fun for now:

"I don't know either. I saw it on an online forum. A superheroine who can shoot spider webs. That's so cool, isn't it!"

And the poster said that when he saw this masked hero yesterday, she was subduing a robber, which was amazing!

A neighborhood hero dedicated to protecting ordinary people is just like the legendary Robin Hood.

The people at the Daily Bugle have terrible taste. They didn't report on her story at all, but instead focused on gangland infighting. It's ridiculous.

As Peter recounted the story, Gwen's eyes grew brighter and brighter, and a blush crept onto her pretty face. She felt as sweet as if she had eaten honey.

It turns out that her actions weren't going unnoticed; at least Peter was watching her actions last night and had a high opinion of her!

Just as she was thinking this, another pleasant female voice rang out beside her:

"Hey Peter, Gwen, are you talking about that masked heroine from last night?"

The speaker was a beautiful silver-haired girl named Felicia Hardy, a member of Gwen and Peter's study group. In many Spider-Man parallel universes, she also has a hidden identity in the future: Black Cat.

Good morning, Felicia.

Upon hearing that her best friend Felicia knew about her performance last night, Gwen subconsciously straightened her back, and her whole demeanor became noticeably more excited.

"We were indeed discussing the masked female superhero from last night, and now that Peter mentioned it, I think she's pretty cool too."

At this point, she blushed slightly, then asked curiously:

"Hey, have you guys noticed how people on the forums are discussing me...this masked hero I'm really interested in?"

"Well!" Peter tilted his head thoughtfully, and only after he had piqued Gwen's interest did he smile and say:

"I remember last night netizens were discussing what to call her. Some said 'Spider-Woman,' and others suggested calling her 'White Widow' or something?"

"What awful names!" Gwen couldn't help but complain.

Felicia, standing nearby, nodded in agreement: "Those people have absolutely terrible taste."

Peter nodded in agreement at first, then gave a serious suggestion:

"If you ask me, her black and white battle suit, appearing and disappearing in the night, is like a ghostly shadow; perhaps it should be called... 'Ghost Spider'?"

Ghost Spider...

Gwen silently repeated the name in her heart, her eyes unconsciously shining.

This name is both mysterious and cool, perfectly matching all her fantasies about her heroic image!

It's so much better than those awful names like "White Widow"!

"This is a good name! This is the name we should use!" Gwen nodded vigorously, her smile brighter than ever before.

Seeing her like this, Peter couldn't resist the urge to tease her again, so he deliberately sighed and said:

"Sigh, what's the point of us thinking this name is good? I posted it on the forum yesterday and nobody responded!"

Who says it won't reach her ears!

Also! She's a young girl, not a lady!

Gwen was internally ranting and raving, but could only smile and say:

"Perhaps after this masked hero performs her heroic deeds, she'll be curious about how everyone is praising her! So, she'll definitely see the name you gave her."

Gwen racked her brains trying to comfort Peter without revealing her hidden identity, but the next second Felicia spoke up from the side:

"No way, are there really superheroes this narcissistic in the world?"

Gwen: (눈‸눈)

She, who was in a great mood, suddenly didn't want to talk to her best friend anymore...

……

At the same time Peter was teasing the little ghost spider, in Hell's Kitchen, on the top floor of the Fisk Tower.

Kingpin, whose body was as large as a mountain, was currently nestled in a specially made luxury sofa.

In front of him, a man wearing a blue tight-fitting combat suit with a bullseye pattern on his head was kneeling respectfully on one knee.

This man was none other than Bullseye, Kingpin's trusted general.

"Every corpse was killed instantly, either by having their heads blown off or by having their chests pierced through."

"The methods were extremely cruel, completely unlike Daredevil's style."

"I suspect... the reason the other party acted so cruelly is probably because..."

At this point, Bullseye paused, glancing at Kingpin's expression before cautiously continuing:

"This is most likely a provocation against you, boss!"

Bang!

As soon as Bullseye finished speaking, the solid wood coffee table next to him was smashed to pieces by a fist the size of a clay pot.

Kingpin's expression was grim, and his eyes were filled with ruthlessness:

"Daredevil hasn't been dealt with yet, and now this reckless guy has popped up. Does he really think Kingpin is easy to bully?"

"Immediately use all the media channels at my disposal to publicize last night's events extensively!"

"Transform that cowardly fellow into a madman who disregards life, revels in killing, a demon who might randomly murder someone in the street at any moment!"

"I'm going to get all the citizens of New York to spontaneously help me get rid of this scourge!"
