Yu Le leaned against the door frame, looking at the spider house that had been cleaned up, and was fairly satisfied.

Although the conditions were a bit shabby, at least it was habitable.

Just then.

Li Rui's loudspeaker blared again at the village entrance.

"Dads, kids! Please gather at the threshing ground!"

Yu Le patted the dust off his hands and looked down at Dongdong.

"Let's go, it's time to assemble."

Dongdong jumped down from the threshold and trotted after Yu Le.

At the threshing ground, the five families arrived one after another.

Li Rui stood in the middle and clapped his hands twice.

"Thank you all for your hard work! Is the house all cleaned up?"

Everyone responded in a cacophony of voices.

Li Rui nodded with a smile, then took out a new mission card.

"Next, we have a new task specifically for the children!"

He emphasized the words "kids".

All five children looked up at the same time.

Li Rui squatted down to be at eye level with the children.

"My dears, tonight, all the families will be having a big meal together at the threshing ground."

"However, the village chief wants you to accomplish two things yourselves."

He held up two fingers.

"The first thing to do is find the pot."

"Our Lingshui Village only has one large iron pot, which the village chief has hidden in a corner of the village. You'll need to find it yourselves and move it to the threshing ground."

"The second thing is to find ingredients."

"You'll need to collect the vegetables, eggs, and noodles for lunch from the villagers' homes."

Li Rui stood up and looked at the five adults.

"This mission is for children only."

"Dads, no help allowed."

Upon hearing this, the five fathers each displayed a different expression.

Chen Yixun looked down at his bag, somewhat worried.

Qin Haoyang, on the other hand, seemed completely unconcerned.

"Whatever. Anyway, DouDou rummages through drawers and cupboards all day long at home; finding things is his forte."

Shen Zekai frowned, hesitated, and ultimately said nothing.

Yu Le stood with his hands in his pockets, expressionless.

He had nothing to worry about. Although Dongdong was only three years old, the boy had always been energetic and quite daring.

Li Rui continued to make arrangements.

"Yu Muchen, Dou Dou, you two form a team and are responsible for finding the iron pot!"

"Bao Bao, Hao Ran, Rati, you three form a group and are responsible for collecting ingredients!"

Upon hearing her name, Dongdong immediately straightened up and answered loudly.

"receive!"

DouDou, who was standing next to him, glanced at him.

The two boys looked at each other.

One was round and chubby, the other was tall and thin.

Their auras are completely different.

Li Rui then gave each of the two groups of children a simple hand-drawn map showing the general layout of the village.

Of course, for a young child, this map is like a book written in a foreign language.

"Alright! Kids, let's go!"

Li Rui waved his hand.

The two groups of children walked in different directions.

The cameramen following behind split into two teams.

......

Dongdong and Doudou walked north along the main road in the village.

The two little ones walked in front, followed by two cameras and a sound engineer holding a furry microphone stick.

DouDou walks with a brisk pace, taking big strides, and muttering to herself.

"Why are you looking for that broken pot? Shouldn't adults do this kind of thing?"

I had to jog to keep up with his speed.

"The village chief said we have to find it ourselves."

DouDou glanced at him sideways.

"How old are you?"

"Three and a half years old!" Dongdong proudly raised his chin.

DouDou scoffed.

"I'm five years old. Just listen to me."

Dongdong blinked, not refuting, but her lips were pursed into a thin line.

The two walked past the courtyard wall of a house.

DouDou peered inside from the top of the wall.

"No."

We walked for a while longer.

There was a dilapidated woodshed by the roadside, with the door ajar.

Dongdong ran over, stood on tiptoe, and peered through the crack in the door with her little hands.

The room was filled with chopped firewood and several bundles of dry grass, with a few shovels and a rusty bucket in the corner.

There is no iron pot.

Dongdong turned her head, and Chongdoudou waved her hand.

"No!"

DouDou kicked a stone on the side of the road.

"This shabby village is so big, where are we supposed to find a pot hidden here?"

The two continued walking forward.

As I passed a chicken coop, several hens inside were clucking incessantly.

A rooster stretched its neck and stared intently at the two little intruders with its round eyes.

Dongdong was startled by the rooster's imposing presence and took a half-step back.

But he quickly regained his composure, clenched his little fists, and encouraged himself.

"Yu Muchen, don't be afraid! You're a man!"

He called out to himself in a childish voice, his little face tense.

The cameraman filming almost burst out laughing.

The camera zoomed in, capturing Dongdong's mature demeanor clearly.

DouDou turned to look at him.

Who are you talking to?

"With myself," Dongdong said confidently.

"My mom said that when you're scared, you should cheer yourself up, and once you've shouted it out, you won't be scared anymore."

DouDou opened her mouth, but didn't know how to respond for a moment.

Although he was unconvinced, looking at this little girl who was a year younger than him, he actually felt a vague sense of agreement.

The two searched for another ten minutes or so.

As Dongdong passed a stone mill at the west end of the village, he suddenly stopped.

He squatted down, tilting his head to look at the half-open wooden door of the stone mill.

"Brother DouDou, look."

Dongdong pointed to a mark on the ground by the door.

There was a shallow, but clear, arc-shaped scratch on the muddy ground.

It looked like some heavy, round object was being dragged out of there and then pushed back in.

Even the cameraman filming this didn't notice this detail.

DouDou walked over and squatted down, glancing in the direction DongDong was pointing.

"Let's go in and take a look!"

DouDou was the first to push open the wooden door.

The stone mill room was dimly lit. A huge stone mill occupied the center of the room, and some old burlap sacks were piled in the corner.

DouDou opened several burlap sacks, but there was nothing there.

Dongdong circled around to the back of the stone mill.

He lay on the ground, sticking his little head into the gap of the millstone base to look.

"have!"

A thumping sound came from under the stone mill.

"I see it! A huge, black pot!"

DouDou ran over in three quick steps.

The two children worked together to clear away a pile of hay behind the stone mill.

A huge black cast iron pot lay upside down on the ground, completely covered by hay and burlap sacks.

"Found it!" Dongdong jumped up, waving her little fists in the air.

The two little ones tried to flip the iron pot over.

Dongdong grabbed the edge of the pot and tried to lift it up with all her might, her little face turning bright red, her feet slipping on the muddy ground.

DouDou exerted force from the other side.

"One, two, three! Go!" Dongdong shouted.

The iron pot flipped over, and the two children were almost knocked over by the rebound force.

Thump, he plopped down on the ground, but immediately got up and dusted off his pants.

He looked down at his palms, which were red, but he didn't say anything.

"This pot is too heavy," DouDou complained.

He tried to lift the pot by one handle, but it wouldn't budge.

Dongdong circled the iron pot twice, then pondered seriously for a few seconds.

Then he ran to the door, dragged over the old burlap sacks, and spread them on the ground, all the way from inside the stone mill to outside.

"Brother DouDou, let's push the pot onto the sack and drag it along!"

DouDou paused for a moment, then her eyes lit up.

"OK!"

The two of them pushed and pulled, moving the iron pot onto the burlap sack.

It's definitely much easier than dragging it directly on the muddy ground.

Two children, aged three to five, each holding a handle of a pot, bent over with their cheeks flushed, dragged the large iron pot out of the stone mill step by step.
