In mid-December, a sudden blizzard transformed the entire Manhattan into a fairytale-like white world.

Central Park near Fifth Avenue was covered in a blanket of white, like a thick layer of cream.

"Heave-ho! Heave-ho!"

Liu Qianqian was wearing a black down jacket that could fit a person inside, making her look like a round, chubby little black bear.

She was sticking her little bottom out, rolling a huge snowball in the snow, having a great time.

The snowball grew bigger and bigger, almost taller than her, making it increasingly difficult to move forward.

Her gloves were covered in ice crystals, her small nose was red from the cold, and her breath condensed into a cloud of mist in the air, but her exposed eyes shone like stars.

On a bench not far away, Yu Le leaned back lazily with his hands in his pockets, wearing a windbreaker, with his ever-present thermos cup beside him.

"Roll to the left, that patch of snow is clean," Yu Le said casually, standing there giving instructions. "Be careful not to roll into dog pee."

"Come help me, Dad!" Liu Qianqian stumbled from the weight of the snowball, panting as she turned to glare at him. "My hands are freezing!"

"I'm training your core strength and willpower. Young people need to endure hardship, understand?" Yu Le said with a straight face, spouting nonsense.

As soon as she finished speaking, Liu Qianqian slipped and fell face-first onto the snowball with a "plop." The snowball didn't move at all, but she was hanging on it like a pendant.

"Ouch!"

Yu Le finally couldn't hold back her laughter, but she quickly put the thermos away and strode over.

He impatiently "ripped" her off the snowball, patted the snow off her, and said, "Clumsy."

Despite his verbal complaints, he naturally stood on the other side of the snowball, braced his feet against the ground, and said in a deep voice, "One, two, three, lift!"

Working together, the two finally pushed the giant snowball onto another, even larger snowball, forming the snowman's body.

Liu Qianqian was so tired that she stood with her hands on her hips, panting heavily. Her cheeks were flushed, and it was hard to tell whether it was from the cold or from exhaustion.

She looked at the snowman that was beginning to take shape in front of her, and then at Yu Le beside her, who was also patting the snowflakes off his trousers. Her eyes crinkled into crescent moons with laughter.

"What do we do now? It's completely bare," she asked.

"You piled it up, so you're responsible." Yu Le resumed his lazy demeanor, but his eyes were searching around.

He kicked aside a small pile of snow, hooked a relatively straight, withered branch from underneath, and tossed it to her. "Here, your arm."

Liu Qianqian immediately became interested and started "treasure hunting mode". She dug around in the snow like a little squirrel and soon found another branch, a few pebbles, and even a frozen red leaf.

She stuck two branches, one high and one low, onto the snowman, and then used pebbles to make eyes and a mouth.

Finally, she proudly pulled an orange-yellow carrot from the large pocket of her down jacket and shoved it right in the middle of the snowman's face.

"All done!" She patted the snow off her gloves, took two steps back, put her hands on her hips, and gave her an extremely satisfied smile at the artwork in front of her.

Yu Le approached and squinted to examine it closely. The snowman was crooked and misshapen, with irregular features, especially the two branches that were of different heights and looked like they were surrendering, which gave it an indescribable silly look.

"What is this thing? Abstract art?"

"It's you!" Liu Qianqian pointed at the snowman, laughing heartily. "Look at that lazy, hands-in-hand pose, that languid air, and that squinting expression when you look at everything—so lifelike!"

Yu Le looked in the direction she was pointing, and the snowman's raised branch looked just like the one he had been directing earlier.

He pursed his lips, wanting to say something sarcastic, but looking at the girl's bright and mischievous smile in the pure white snow, the words that came out were just a chuckled mutter:

"No respect for elders."

He took out his phone, skillfully opened the camera, and pointed it at the girl and her "masterpiece": "Move over a bit and take a picture with your 'self-portrait'."

"It's your self-portrait!" Liu Qianqian corrected with a smile, but still obediently ran to the snowman's side and made a cute peace sign.

With a "click," the girl's smile in the camera lens was brighter than the snow scene behind her, and even the silly snowman next to her seemed to become cute because of it.

Meanwhile, at Warner Music headquarters across the ocean, the data monitoring room was in complete chaos.

Producer Charlie stared at the curve on the screen.

Just two days ago, Yu Le finalized the distribution plan for "Santa Tell Me" through Luo Xiang.

Yu Le not only brought in Warner, but also dragged Sony into it.

The collaboration between two international record giants has resulted in a massive amount of S-level promotional resources being allocated to a new artist's single during the highly competitive Christmas season.

Initially, Warner's head of distribution was extremely pessimistic about the project.

"Let a Chinese girl sing Christmas carols? That's more absurd than making Italians eat pineapple pizza." The head of distribution slammed his fist on the table in the conference room in protest.

But capital never cares about nationality; it only cares about interests.

In the first four hours after its release, the single only garnered a paltry three thousand downloads on iTunes.

Charlie was terrified, thinking that the Waterloo of his career was about to begin.

The turning point came at 8 p.m.

A Macy's department store in New York City was the first to change its background music to this song.

The cheerful sound of sled bells, coupled with that highly recognizable sweet voice, and the light R&B rhythm flowed gently in the warm atmosphere of the mall.

Customers who were snapping up discounted items stopped in their tracks without prior notice.

Some people took out their phones to search for lyrics. Others asked the sales assistant the name of the song.

Twelve hours later, the data began to climb strangely.

In just 24 hours, "Santa Tell Me" managed to squeeze into the top 50 of the Billboard Hot 100!

"Charlie! The airplay on all the major radio stations is going up!" The assistant ran into the monitoring room, waving a newly printed report in his hand.

Kiis FM radio station in Los Angeles.

Popular DJs are enthusiastically recommending it during their live streams:

"Oh, guys, I have no idea where this girl named Crystal Liu came from, but her voice is the best dessert of the Christmas season!"

"After listening to this song, I even thought about getting back together with my ex-girlfriend whom I broke up with three years ago!"

Its popularity continued to rise, eventually reaching the top five on the Billboard chart!

The news from across the ocean reached China immediately.
