Hard work after winning the lottery

Chapter 75 Kindergarten Diary 2

In order to avoid being sent to kindergarten, the triplets embarked on a hilarious and absurd runaway adventure.

An emergency meeting concerning "life or death" is being secretly held in the children's room on the third floor.

The meeting place was chosen to be under that huge block table.

A deep blue tablecloth hung down, creating a perfect, secluded, and private space.

The person in charge is Hua Sitao from the family.

He sat cross-legged, his face serious like a young general about to go to battle, his voice low but his tone resolute.

"So that Mom won't send us to that awful place!"

The word "kindergarten" wasn't used, but the two brothers understood immediately.

That word is taboo to them; it's a man-eating monster.

Sile, who is usually the most active, was listless at this moment, her little mouth was pursed and her big eyes were misty.

"I don't want to go... There are so many children crying there, and the teachers' smiles look so fake..."

He clutched his brother's clothes, his voice trembling with tears.

The usually composed eldest brother, Si'an, had his brows furrowed into a tight knot. He didn't speak, but his tightly pursed lips betrayed his inner tension and resistance.

Si Tao glanced at her two older brothers and slammed her little fist heavily on the ground.

Crying won't help!

He imitated the heroic figures on TV, puffing out his little chest.

"We can't just let this go!"

"Then... what should we do?" Sile sniffed, looking at him blankly.

Si Tao took a deep breath, leaned closer mysteriously, and announced his brilliant plan, word by word, in a voice only the three brothers could hear.

"We've run away from home!"

"what?"

Sile and Sian both gasped at the same time.

They had only heard this word in cartoons.

That means leaving your mother, leaving your warm bed, and going to a place very, very far away.

Sile's face turned pale instantly, and she shook her head repeatedly: "No, no, if we leave Mommy, who will tell us stories tonight?"

Si'an also expressed strong disagreement, analyzing like a little adult: "Mom will worry, she won't be able to find us, she will cry."

Si Tao, however, seemed confident.

"Idiot! We're not really leaving!"

He held up three short fingers.

"First, we're just hiding temporarily. We'll come out once Mom promises she'll never send us to kindergarten again!"

"Secondly, we won't go anywhere far; we'll go to our own territory!"

"Where?" Sile asked curiously.

Si Tao proudly raised his chin and pointed towards the back mountain.

"Sheep Farm!"

This suggestion immediately made the other two little ones waver.

Sheep farm!

That was their paradise.

There were fluffy little lambs, tall haystacks, and a kind great-uncle. Most importantly, it was my home, a place that filled me with a sense of security.

Si Tao pressed his advantage and began assigning tasks.

"Sile, you're the best at judging people. You're in charge of keeping watch at the door and seeing what Mom and Grandma are doing!"

Sile immediately accepted the order, her little face filled with the seriousness of a heavy responsibility on her shoulders. She tiptoed out like a nimble kitten.

"Big brother," Si Tao looked at her older brother, "you're the most meticulous; you were in charge of preparing our food for our escape!"

Si'an remained hesitant, her lips pursed even tighter.

"But...Mom will be sad..."

"When we get back, Mom won't be sad anymore! She'll only be happy!" Si Tao said firmly. "Hurry! Otherwise, we'll be eaten by the monster!"

The word "monster" was the final straw that broke Si'an's psychological defenses.

The thought of the deafening cries and the unfamiliar faces of the teachers in the kindergarten sent chills down his spine.

He nodded, took short strides, and ran towards the cabinet where the snacks were kept.

A few minutes later, the three brothers reunited under the osmanthus tree at the entrance of the courtyard.

Sile reports: "Mom is still on the phone, Grandma is chopping vegetables in the kitchen, everything's safe!"

Si'an was carrying a cloth bag printed with Winnie the Pooh, which was bulging with his carefully selected supplies—three small cakes, a bag of animal cookies, and three freshly washed apples.

Si Tao straightened her chest, waved her little hand, and gave the final instruction.

"Set off!"

Three small figures, taking advantage of the dense holly bushes along the courtyard wall for cover, sneaked out of the gate.

Instead of taking the main road in the village, they relied on their memory and ventured into a small path leading to the back of the mountain.

This is the road they walked countless times when they went to the sheep farm with their grandfather.

The three little ones held hands, their faces filled with the excitement of adventure and the trepidation of the unknown, and ran towards the West Mountain Ranch with a clear goal in mind.

Hua Yun finally hung up the phone.

This phone call finalized all the details of the online sales campaign for the next quarter, and she breathed a sigh of relief, feeling as if a huge weight had been lifted off her shoulders.

She turned and went into the house, calling out as she habitually did.

"Si'an! Si'le! Si'tao! Mom's done with her work, shall we build some new Lego sets?"

The only response she received was complete silence.

She paused for a moment, then walked into the living room; no one was there.

I went up to the children's room on the third floor. The building blocks were scattered all over the floor, but there was still no one there.

Hua Yun's heart skipped a beat.

It's too quiet.

It was eerily quiet.

"Mom," she said, walking to the kitchen doorway, "where are the children? Are they with you?"

Li Guifen was putting noodles into the pot when she heard this and replied without turning her head, "No, wasn't she just playing upstairs? I even heard Sitao's loud voice."

An ominous premonition, like a cold vine, silently coiled around Hua Yun's heart.

She walked quickly into the courtyard. The gate was ajar, with the bolt hanging forlornly to one side.

"Did he go to Aunt Li's house to play with Dundun?" Hua Yun still held onto a sliver of hope, comforting herself as she walked towards the next house.

Aunt Li was watching Dundun sunbathing at the door when she saw Huayun coming over and greeted her with a smile.

"Yunyun, is there something you need?"

"Aunt Li, are my three boys with you?"

"No," Aunt Li shook her head, "I haven't seen them all afternoon."

The color drained from Hua Yun's face in an instant.

Her heart sank.

She turned and ran back to search for the child in other parts of the village.

"Mom! Dad! The children are missing!"

This shout was like a bomb dropped into the peaceful Baixi Village.

Grandma Hua, who was dozing in the inner room, rushed out upon hearing the noise, and Hua Shu, who was chopping wood, also dropped his axe.

After hearing Hua Yun's tearful account, everyone's face turned pale.

"Quick! Go find it!"

Old Master Hua Mutou, having weathered many storms, was the first to react, and his usually smiling face was now tense.

"A-Shu, you go to the east end of the village! A-Shi, you go to the west end of the village! I'll go check the road behind the mountain!"

Hua Shu and his uncle Hua Shi, who had just returned from the sheep farm, ran outside without saying a word.

Li Guifen and Grandma Hua were panicked, tears streaming down their faces like broken beads.

"My dear grandson...where could he possibly have run off to..."

"It's all my fault, it's all my fault for not keeping a close eye on them..."

Hua Yun's body was trembling and her teeth were chattering, but she forced herself to calm down.

Now is not the time to cry!

"Mom, Grandma, don't panic!"

She took a deep breath, her voice hoarse.

"Let's split up and ask from house to house! They have short legs, they can't possibly run far!"

It felt like an invisible hand was gripping her heart, tightening it little by little, and the pain was so intense that she could hardly breathe.

She rushed out of the courtyard and began knocking on doors one by one, asking questions over and over again.

"Aunt Zhang, have you seen my Si'an, Si'le, and Si'tao?"

"Uncle Wang, have you seen three boys of similar height go that way?"

Her voice went from initial anxiety to trembling, and finally to a desperate plea.

The entire village of Baixi was completely alarmed.

"What?! Yunyun's triplets are missing?!"

"My God! That's our village's precious gem!"

"Quick! Don't just stand there! Let's all search together!"

Upon hearing the news, the village party secretary rushed over and immediately picked up the village committee's loudspeaker to broadcast the message to the entire village.

The villagers didn't even have time for dinner and rushed out of their homes.

The men, armed with flashlights, and the women, shouting at the top of their lungs, spontaneously formed a search team.

In an instant, the beams of flashlights intertwined in the deepening twilight, and cries of "Si'an," "Sile," and "Sitao" shattered the evening tranquility of the village, echoing through the valley.
