Hard work after winning the lottery
Chapter 66 Grand Opening
This is both a trial operation and an employee benefit.
The news was met with cheers and jubilation from everyone.
On this day, the sky was high and the clouds were light, and the lake breeze was gentle.
The roast lamb restaurant was spotless inside and out, and brand-new bowls and chopsticks were set on the anti-corrosion wooden dining tables.
The kitchen, inside that glass wall, was where Uncle Li Ye was.
He changed into a pristine white chef's uniform, his expression focused as he adjusted a custom-made large oven capable of roasting three sheep at once.
The charcoal fire burned bright red, crackling and popping, the heat distorting the air itself.
Hua Yun greeted the workers who were arriving one after another at the door, with a bright smile on her face.
Meanwhile, the other three "little protagonists" of today's feast are currently clinging to their mother's trouser legs, curiously peeking out.
"Mom, is this our new house?"
The second child, Hua Sile, looked up with her little face and asked in a childish voice.
Hua Yun smiled and squatted down, pinching his little nose.
"This isn't the house we live in; this is where my great-uncle roasts lamb for everyone."
Upon hearing the word "roast lamb," the three little ones' eyes lit up instantly, like three tiny stars ignited in the night, and their mouths involuntarily watered.
They were filled with an endless desire to explore this bright, fragrant house.
Especially that big iron furnace that can spit fire and spin around, it's even more attractive than the carousel in an amusement park.
Soon, as if by prior arrangement, the three little ones became Uncle Li Ye's little shadows.
Li Ye was directing his apprentices to carefully hang three lambs, which had been marinated overnight with a secret recipe, on the rotating grill.
The three little radish heads lined up in a row, squatting not far behind him, like three obedient little quails.
They watched as their great-uncle methodically brushed on the oil and sprinkled the ingredients, each movement exuding a steady, craftsman-like demeanor.
Their little minds couldn't yet comprehend what "craftsmanship" or "artisanship" meant, but they could sense that their great-uncle looked incredibly impressive.
As the oven slowly rotates, the surface of the lamb begins to tighten, gradually developing an enticing sheen.
The grease dripped onto the glowing red-hot charcoal, sizzling and igniting a small cluster of flames, along with a wisp of smoke.
A domineering, primal aroma of meat exploded instantly, then forcefully entered the nasal cavity of everyone present.
"Wow...it smells so good..."
The third brother, Hua Sitao, couldn't help but sniff, and there was already a glistening liquid brewing at the corner of his mouth.
Li Guifen brought three small wooden stools from somewhere and let her three grandsons sit down at a safe distance.
"Sit here and watch, don't run any further."
The three little ones sat obediently in a row, with their hands on their knees, like three soldiers waiting for inspection.
Their gazes were fixed on the three roasted lambs that were slowly turning golden brown.
Her little mouth was smacking unconsciously, and a loud swallowing sound would occasionally come from her throat.
The little boy's pleading look made the adults around him chuckle.
Hua Yun walked over and drew a clear white line on the ground with chalk.
She put on a stern face and looked at her three sons with a serious expression.
"Si'an, Si'le, Si'tao!"
"Listen up, everyone, this is the safety line."
"No one is allowed to cross this white line and get near the stove. It's very hot there, you'll get hurt, do you hear me?"
"We heard that!" the three little ones shouted in unison, their voices loud and clear.
Although they readily agreed, their eyes never left the deadly roasted lamb.
The aroma of the roasted whole lamb was so strong that it wafted far away on the lake breeze.
On the lakeside road, a sightseeing bus carrying tourists slowly came to a stop.
The tourists on the bus all leaned out, looking in the direction of the aroma.
They exclaimed in amazement when they saw the uniquely designed glass house and the golden roasted lamb rotating inside.
"My goodness, when did a whole roasted lamb restaurant open here? It smells amazing!"
"Look, look! There are three children who look exactly alike! They're so cute!"
Several young tourists got off the bus, took out their phones, and walked over, wanting to capture this interesting scene.
Suddenly, a series of camera shutter clicks rang out.
The three little ones reacted very differently when faced with an unfamiliar camera.
The eldest son, Hua Si'an, was the most introverted and shy. His little face turned red instantly, and he immediately slid off the stool like a frightened little rabbit, hiding behind Hua Yun in a flash. He only dared to peek half of his little head out from beside his mother's legs, looking timidly at the outside world with his big, black grape-like eyes.
The second son, Hua Sile, had the air of a complete social thug.
Far from being shy, he puffed out his little chest and flashed a big smile with two missing front teeth at the uncles and aunts holding up their phones.
He even raised his chubby little chin and, with all his might, proudly announced loudly:
"Hello everyone, my family's mutton is delicious!"
His childlike shouts, coupled with his serious expression, instantly made the tourists burst into laughter, and the sound of camera shutters clicked even more frequently.
The most mischievous of the three, Hua Sitao, was drawn to another place that the tourists had overlooked.
That was a piece of fresh raw lamb leg hanging on the processing table next to it, which was intended to be used for making soup that night.
The red and white stripes were equally attractive to him, a small carnivore.
While everyone's attention was drawn to his second brother, he quietly and slowly moved off his little stool.
He crouched low, like a kitten about to launch a sneak attack, and crept stealthily toward the lamb leg.
He stood on tiptoe, stretched out his chubby little hand, and was about to touch the cool, raw meat.
"Huasitao!"
Hua Yun's voice rang out promptly, carrying a hint of sternness.
With lightning speed, she darted forward and, just a second before the little guy's fingers were about to touch the lamb leg, lifted him up and held him in her arms.
Little Sitao was caught red-handed, but she didn't cry or make a fuss. She just buried her little head in her mother's neck and giggled shyly.
Hua Yun gave his chubby little bottom a gentle pat, feeling both helpless and amused.
"You little glutton, you want to try it even raw?"
The minor commotion subsided amidst laughter.
The three sheep on the oven were now roasted until their skins were golden and crispy, with a color like fine beeswax, glistening with oil.
Li Ye used his long knife to make a light cut on the lamb leg, the skin split open and the meat revealed the tender, juicy, pinkish-white lamb underneath.
"Alright! Let's eat!"
With a resounding shout from his uncle, the grand feast officially began.
