Another world, the outer battlefield of Pangula Fortress!
Deep in the mountain valley where the battle had taken place, several unmanned helicopters responsible for battlefield support hovered at low altitudes, their rotors cutting through the air and emitting a dull, piercing sound.
??????????.??????
A medium-sized transport drone hovered steadily on a relatively safe open ground, with thick hoisting ropes and a specially made containment net hanging below it.
"Quick! Everyone lend a hand and get this lump of metal in there!"
The soldiers of the elite detachment shouted in unison as several men worked together to shove the corpse of a dwarven heavy infantryman, along with his heavy armor, into the containment net.
The metal armor scraped against the rocks on the ground, producing a screeching sound.
"Alright! Get up!" a soldier shouted into the communicator.
Upon receiving the command, the drone rapidly increased its engine power, shakily lifting the heavy containment net and flying towards the spacetime portal behind it.
Watching the drone disappear into the distance, a young soldier wiped the sweat from his brow and couldn't help but mutter, "Damn, that's heavy!"
Those short guys' shells weigh at least 400 kilograms; no wonder they couldn't even get a scratch out of them after firing rifle shots for ages!
An old soldier next to him patted him on the shoulder: "You think you can shoot this thing through with a rifle again? Dream on! Didn't you see that artillery support has to use special bullets to break it open? This thing is just a mobile bunker. Next time you see it, just use heavy firepower."
"When will our scientists be able to figure these things out?" The young soldier's eyes gleamed with longing. "We've captured so much today; once we've thoroughly studied it, can we be the first to equip ourselves with it?"
"Alright, stop being so cheeky!" The captain of the elite team smiled, but still interrupted the atmosphere that was about to turn into idle chatter, even though he knew that this was a way for the soldiers to release stress.
"Return to your positions and remain vigilant! We must retreat safely before the dwarves can react!"
"yes!"
Everyone responded and immediately stopped joking.
With the aid of a powered exoskeleton, the team moved swiftly, traversing the rugged mountain terrain as if it were flat ground.
Their mission was complete; the remains of several dwarf cans had been collected, and it was time to leave quickly.
Only after crossing the defensive perimeter set up by their own forces and confirming that they had returned to a safe area did everyone's tense nerves finally relax, and they breathed heavily.
Three hours have passed since the battle began.
The intense combat left everyone physically and mentally exhausted, but the successful capture of almost the complete Heavy Dwarf Canned Food brought a hint of excitement to everyone's faces.
Know yourself and the enemy, a hundred battles will never end.
In this battle, these invulnerable and incredibly strong dwarf heavy infantrymen posed a huge threat and caused numerous casualties to the frontline troops.
Currently, multiple samples of the dwarf-shaped heavy-duty canned food have been sent to the rear.
Perhaps in the research centers behind humanity's rear, countless top scientists and weapons experts are already eager to thoroughly study this "iron lump" from the inside out, from its runes to its materials.
It is foreseeable that before long, new weapons and tactics specifically designed to counter such heavily armed units will be urgently deployed to front-line troops.
They might even be specially made in the shape of a measuring tape and then transformed into heavy-duty canned goods suitable for human use!
Although dwarves are physically strong, they are still within the category of carbon-based life forms.
Unarmored dwarves can be easily killed by armed humans. However, dwarves wearing heavy armor cannot be destroyed by ordinary rifle bullets!
Once humans understand all the weaknesses of these canned goods, the ecological niche of individual hunters and prey on the battlefield may have to change.
Compared to previous time portals, when using the Time Cube to teleport between the two worlds, there is no cooldown time on the human side. Moreover, because the Time Cube can perform special filtering, humans can easily filter out dangerous items.
As the drone returned, the collected and sorted fragments of dwarven heavy-duty canned remains were all brought back to the modern world for more detailed and targeted research.
Further research and development will require more time!
Rumble—
The explosions over Pangulak Fortress never ceased.
Compared to the initial carpet bombing when there were no clear targets, the current artillery fire is much sparser and the sound is much quieter, but every loud bang signifies the complete paralysis of a dwarven defensive node.
The shells tore through the mountainside, and the shockwaves spread in layers. Even in the command center deep within the fortress, Commander Rice of the Pangule Fortress could clearly feel the ground trembling violently beneath his feet.
Smoke and rubble continued to fall from the dome, crashing onto the control panel and into the hearts of every dwarf.
A dwarf officer stumbled into the command center, his voice hoarse with fear and exhaustion: "Elder! We—we sent out eight heavily armored rune warriors to try and disrupt the enemy's advance, and we all failed—they've all—they've all returned to the Ancestral Temple!"
The command center was deathly silent.
Heavy Rune Warrior!
Those were the most elite warriors among the dwarven regular infantry, each capable of taking on a hundred men, and having captured flags and killed enemy generals in several key battles.
Now, eight of them have died, like cheap canned goods.
Pangula Fortress only has 80 heavy cans of food in total!
Rice suddenly looked up, his bloodshot eyes fixed on the officer: "What is the enemy's close combat capability? How did they destroy it?"
'
"The enemy is weak and outnumbered, but their weapons are incredibly powerful! And their range is extremely long; our elite snipers simply can't hit them!"
"By the way, we've confirmed that all those enemies were human!" The officer swallowed hard. "According to the surviving scouts, the attackers were dressed in human clothing from the far north."
"Scum from the far north!" Rice gritted his teeth, the name stirring up unpleasant memories. "How did they get here? How did they get here? Weren't they content to run their desolate, godforsaken place?"
"The enemy is greedy! Unfortunately, we are powerless to deal with them!"
"How many enemies did our heavily armored soldiers kill this time?"
The officer's eyes began to dart away, and he stammered, "About—about a hundred—no, probably less than that—"
"Less than a hundred?"
Rice laughed in anger, his laughter filled with utter astonishment.
Based on the dwarves' usual practice of multiplying their battle achievements and victories by several dozen times, that's about ten people!
He rubbed his throbbing temples, ceasing his pursuit of the obvious lie, and instead asked, "What about the guy who destroyed the blood sacrifice site? Have you found him? And have all the sacrifices he released been disposed of?"
Mentioning this made the officer's face even uglier, as if he had swallowed a fly.
"Reporting to the elder—we cannot find the other party—and our plan to seize Armory No. 3, which has been occupied by the sacrificial offerings, is also proving difficult!"
6
This time, their Pangula Fortress is truly beset by internal and external troubles!
The dwarves, who mysteriously appeared inside Panguler Fortress, killed all the guards and then quickly occupied the dwarves' armory number three with their damned offerings!
Those sacrifices who should have been executed not only obtained weapons from the No. 3 Armory of Pangula Fortress, but also received support from mysterious weapons!
By Gezur, who the hell brought so many powerful weapons without a sound?
Because of the sudden appearance of a large number of powerful weapons, the corrupted dwarven warriors inside Pangulet Fortress are now locked in a fierce battle with the rabble!
There was no way around it; the weapons' destructive power was simply too much. The enemy also controlled key points and were extremely familiar with the area around Armory No. 3, making it difficult for them to take it down quickly!
Rice gritted his teeth: "Speed up! We must retake Armory Number Three as quickly as possible!!"
"Our heavy infantry tried to charge in, but the firepower of those sacrificial troops was too overwhelming. We were blown to pieces, man and canned food alike! We simply—simply couldn't break through!"
"Useless! A bunch of useless trash!"
Rice shoved him away, her chest heaving violently.
He looked at the sand table made by the dwarves.
At this very moment, markers representing their own strongholds were being destroyed one after another by the precise fire of human artillery. No more messages were coming from the outer defenses!
If he hadn't been quick-witted and allowed many dwarf warriors to return through the tunnels ahead of time, the losses would have been even greater.
Right now, the outside is being peeled back by artillery fire, and a bastard has sneaked in and is causing chaos in the fortress.
Can't wait any longer!
"Pass on my order!" Rice's eyes turned crazed and resolute. "Prepare the relic bomb—no, let's use the plague bomb. We still have the plague bomb!"
"Since we can't break through, let's destroy this whole place!"
"Elder, plague bombs are too dangerous; they could easily result in mutual destruction—"
"We can't worry about that now!" Rice roared. "And what about the Divine Machine? Its activation process is accelerating!"
Some of the dwarves hesitated to speak!
"Move the remaining heavy infantry outside and hold the line. Don't let any outsiders break in."
"Hold on! Just hold on! We'll have 10,000 reinforcements arriving soon! Then the tide will turn, and I'll make these lowly humans pay for their crimes in blood!"
"Sir, we are digging fortifications to launch an attack! If the attack is blocked, we request permission to use plague bombs!" the officer replied, trembling.
This officer was clearly terrified of plague bombs!
Rice glanced at the other person: "Hurry up!"
"Yes!" He accepted the order and left.
Inside the command center, only Rice's heavy breathing could be heard.
He stared at the coordinates of the armory on the screen, which was occupied by dwarves, the elderly, the weak, women and children, his eyes flashing with resentment.
Two days.
If they cannot open the sealed land, then they must clean up all the offerings and those things within two days.
Otherwise, the Mithril Clan will be doomed!
"unless----"
"No, there is no unless!"
"Soon, very soon! As soon as the enemy attacks our fortress, we can quickly amass enough flesh and souls! At that time, we will surely be able to break the seal and obtain the help of our ancestors!"
"The glory of our ancestors will surely shine from the sword in my hand, Rice!"
"Chieftain, King, your attempt to break the seal on the forbidden land from the capital is a mistake! Only I can lead the dwarves to victory!"
! !
'
Inside the Pangaea Fortress, the tunnels, a complex interplay of steel and rock, resemble the entrails of a giant beast, both intricate and deep.
These passages, perfectly suited to the dwarves' height, are a defensive haven that the dwarves are proud of.
Here, a dwarf squad can take turns using the terrain and fortifications to easily fend off enemies a hundred times their size.
However, when the guardians of heaven became the attackers, and the enemies became their own people who knew the place well, everything changed.
"For the glory of our ancestors! Cut off the heads of heretics! Offer sacrifices to our ancestors!"
A corrupted dwarf warrior from the attacking side roared, his body radiating an ominous crimson aura.
He drank several bottles of potions in succession, then, wielding a heavy runic shield, charged out from a narrow maintenance passage on the side like an enraged bull.
He was met not with swords, but with a storm of steel.
Da da da da—!
The ear-piercing sound of metal tearing instantly filled the entire tunnel.
A twin 30mm cannon, fixed at a corner, spewed out deadly flames.
After two cannon shots, the energy glow of the rune shield that the dwarf warriors were so proud of went out.
The third and fourth shells pierced through his seemingly indestructible runic alloy shield, the twisted metal curling inwards.
The fifth and sixth shells pierced his shield and armor precisely and entered his chest smoothly.
There was no scream. The dwarf's massive body exploded into a bloody mess, as if a high-explosive grenade had been inserted into it, smearing the flesh and blood on the cold steel wall.
"Ha, another piece of trash!"
The gunner operating the 30mm autocannon was an old, white-haired dwarf. As he skillfully changed the ammunition belt, he coughed twice, spitting out a mouthful of phlegm. "That was satisfying! That was satisfying! You bastards, come on, pay for my grandson's death!"
A dwarf boy nearby quickly loaded ammunition: "Grandpa Hammer, look around!"
"You little brat, what do you know! This is called professionalism! This is called killing with style!" The old dwarf, Ironhammer, cursed as he aimed the cannon. "Back when I was fighting the undead in the North, you weren't even here yet!"
These defenders were none other than the dwarves, the elderly, women, and children who were almost sacrificed, as well as the slaves of various races who were rescued by Lin Li!
While the human pioneers were engaged in fierce battles outside, the "Projection Avatar of Ancestor Gazul," embodied by Lin Li, was never idle.
Relying on his spatial-temporal energy, which far exceeded the understanding of this era, and his endless heavy firepower, he managed to wipe out the less than one hundred guards at the blood sacrifice field, saving more than three thousand lives.
But to think that you could lead this group of old, weak, sick and disabled people out of the labyrinthine fortress was nothing short of a pipe dream.
Fortunately, among this group of old and weak, there were many ancient people with wisdom in warfare who knew how to fight against dwarves.
Yes, the corrupted members of the Mithril Clan killed all the old and weak dwarves equally.
Whether it was the dwarf clans, the twenty-eight smaller clans, or their own clan members, they were all killed!
There was even a horrific incident here where a son personally severed the head of his dwarf father!
The existence of high latitudes has a truly terrifying corrupting effect on the mind!
Theoretically, dwarfs have a lifespan of 250 years, while long-lived individuals can live up to 200 years.
Among these elderly and infirm people are a few veterans like Iron Hammer, who served at Pangule Fortress eighty-eight years ago!
Although they were just ordinary soldiers and might not know the fortress's core secrets, they knew exactly where the blind spots were, where the secret passages were, and which armory was the least guarded.
With the instruction of their ancestor Lin Li and the support of a massive amount of human weaponry pulled from his personal space, these old guys were given a second spring.
They stripped the rune armor of the fallen guards, picked up 20mm and 30mm machine guns, and laid countless anti-tank mines and remote-controlled bombs at various key passes. They even carried gas masks with them.
These veteran dwarves, who have spent their lives working with gunpowder and machinery, may lack endurance once they have a handy weapon, but their explosive power will definitely increase exponentially.
The corrupted dwarf warriors on the attacking side were not very bright to begin with, and now they were completely bewildered.
Their prized tactics, bravery, and runic equipment proved as fragile as a sheet of paper in the face of overwhelming, unreasonable firepower.
After another wave of attacks was repelled, only a pile of mangled corpses remained.
The tunnel was filled with a thick, nauseating smell of blood and gunpowder.
After the brief charge ended, the attackers seemed to have lost their strength and started cursing and swearing on the sidelines.
"Ha, all you do is swear! Quickly set a trap, watch out for another attack from the repackaged canned goods!"
"yes!"
Old Hammer grinned widely, patted the scorching hot cannon barrel, and laughed, "Praise be to our ancestor Gaizul! The human toys he bestowed upon us are truly amazing! They're even better than the standard artillery equipment of our dwarf kingdom!"
"Grandpa, let's hide it after we're done using it, and then find a master craftsman to make a replica. These things aren't technically difficult!"
"Yes, explosions are art!" Another old dwarf stroked a box of high-powered bombs, his eyes filled with fervor. "Humans may be tall and ugly, many lacking beautiful hair, but they've done a pretty good job with explosive art!"
Just then, a heavy metallic scraping sound came from afar.
Then, they felt the sounds around them becoming calmer and calmer.
The smile on Old Hammer's face froze instantly. He stood up abruptly and listened intently.
Why is it getting quieter and quieter?
"Something's not right," a hint of surprise flashed in his cloudy old eyes, "They don't seem to be retreating?"
"Oh no, they're preparing powerful weapons!"
"Quickly call upon our ancestors! We need reinforcements!"
A young dwarf took out a human walkie-talkie and immediately pressed the call button.
"Great Gazul, your people need your salvation! The Fallen are about to unleash their powerful weapons upon us."
"The Great Geizur?"
Unfortunately, despite speaking into the walkie-talkie multiple times, there was still no signal coming from the other end.
"Our ancestor isn't responding; he must be attacking other military depots!"
"We can only rely on ourselves now!"
These elderly dwarfs knew this was a test from their ancestors.
With the powerful standard equipment left by their ancestors, it's fine for dealing with ordinary dwarf soldiers, but against the true elite dwarves, such as the king's guard, centurions, or the ever-victorious champions, it would require a great deal of effort.
Fortunately, the King's Guard and the perennial champions are not here.
In other words, Pangulu doesn't have many elite troops right now, only some elite heavy armored soldiers, who have managed to hold out for about an hour thanks to the current terrain.
Otherwise, they would have been wiped out long ago!
In the midst of this suffocating silence, an old and angry roar came from the other side, echoing like a loudspeaker in the tunnel.
"Fellow countrymen outside, stop being so deluded! You have been bewitched by evil! Follow the guidance of your ancestors, resist the tyrant, and resist the heretics!"
The one who shouted was a veteran dwarf soldier from another position, who also clearly noticed that it was too quiet.
However, from the depths of the dark passage came furious curses.
"Bullshit! You're the heretics!" A corrupted young dwarf warrior's voice was shrill and piercing. "It's all for the great revival of the dwarves. What's wrong with being sacrificed? Why rebel? You cowards, traitors!"
The veteran, his mustache bristling with rage, roared, "By Grimnir! You brainwashed fools! Open your eyes! You are slaughtering your own kind, destroying the seal your ancestors have protected for generations! You are the greatest heretics!"
"We aren't, you are! You selfish bastards, you lowly creatures, you all deserve to die!"
"Enough talk! Let's go, kill them all! A blood sacrifice for our ancestors, for the glory of the Mithril Clan! Kill them!"
The roars of the attackers rose and fell, mixed with the piercing sounds of clashing weapons, clearly indicating that they were trying to break through from other directions.
"Infantry fighting guns! Bring the infantry fighting guns up! Bomb these old fogies to death!"
"support!"
"Help me!"
Panic spread along the defensive lines.
"Grandpa, it seems the enemy hasn't attacked our defenses?"
Old Hammer took a deep breath, and his wrinkled face calmed down. He picked up the ammunition belt from the ground, reloaded it into the machine gun, and his movements were steady and powerful.
"Don't harbor any illusions!" He spat, his eyes turning fierce again. "Set up the broadsword bestowed by our ancestors once more! If they dare to show their faces, let them taste what a rain of flowers looks like!"
"Grandpa Hammer, your arm is all swollen from firing. Step back and let me fire a few shots. You can take command now."
"Okay, but be careful with the ammunition!" the old dwarf instructed, then retreated. "Our ancestors are with us!"
The old and weak dwarves roared in anger, and the warriors of other tribes also shouted loudly.
Desperate intelligent races are not lacking in courage, otherwise they would have been eliminated by nature long ago.
They roared their slogans and quickly set up various traps.
"For the Queen!"
"For the Dragon Empire!"
"For the great Lizard God!"
Some of the offerings also shouted loudly.
However, the enemy clearly had no intention of giving them a chance to catch their breath.
Boom! ...
The steel dome above Old Hammer's assigned defensive position suddenly shuddered, sending rubble and metal parts raining down.
A huge hole was blasted open, and blinding light shone down.
Before anyone could react, jars glowing with an ominous green light were thrown down from the hole.
Old Iron Hammer, who had just gone to the back, discovered something at the entrance of the hole above.
"It's a pyrometal bomb!" Old Hammer's pupils constricted, and he roared hoarsely, "Get out of the way! Get down!!"
Before he could finish speaking, the jars burst open with a loud bang.
The green flames, like a viscous liquid, instantly covered the entire tunnel.
It greedily licked at the metal walls, devoured the dwarves in the tunnel, and swept into the passage at an inescapable speed.
Deadly flames and magical concoctions enveloped everything in their path.
A heart-wrenching scream rang out—
The eerie flames were like napalm, but far more vicious. They clung tightly to the dwarves' leather armor and flesh, and could not be extinguished no matter how much they rolled and slapped.
Even more terrifying is that it frantically devours the already scarce oxygen while burning.
"Cough—cough cough—"
Thick smoke billowed, making it incredibly difficult for the dwarves who were struggling to breathe; each breath felt like swallowing a red-hot knife.
The 30mm autocannon position that Old Hammer had just been controlling was the first to be engulfed by the sea of fire.
The scorching hot cannon barrel began to deform under the continuous burning of the strangely hot and extremely high-temperature green flames, and then became completely unusable.
This meticulously constructed defensive line began to crumble because of these bizarre shells.
"Retreat! Retreat quickly!" The surviving dwarven veterans coughed as they helped the wounded retreat towards the backup passage at the rear.
"Oxygen tanks! Quick! Get out the oxygen tanks our ancestors gave us! Hurry!"
"Give me a breath of oxygen!"
"By Gaizur, thank our ancestors for the oxygen tank!"
In the chaos, Old Hammer was dragged from the edge of the fire. Half of his beard was charred, he was coughing violently, and his eyes were bloodshot from the smoke.
He stared intently at the green sea of fire that was engulfing his compatriots, and at a descendant of a fellow villager who had already disappeared. His eyes flashed with grief and deep-seated hatred.
"These—the damned, degenerate bastards—" he gritted his teeth, enunciating each word clearly, "You just wait!"
He took out a walkie-talkie.
"Reverend Gaizur, where are you? Your humble descendants need your help!!!"
"Gaizur, save your descendants!!!"
Magic, supernatural creatures, and the dwarves' nimble hands made many of the underground passages of Pangolier Fortress incredibly magnificent.
In some areas, there are even super-long passageways with a height of 25 meters and a width of 20 meters!
Such architecture would have significant military applications among the dwarves.
This massive passage is designed to deal with enemies on the other side of the spacetime rift.
For example, when the enemy on the other side breaches the spacetime rift, soldiers from various races can quickly enter.
Such a high passage, I wonder what kind of enormous creature it would require to mobilize!
In any case, to modern people, such a grand underground passage is rarely seen.
One is outrageous, and the other is not cost-effective.
Such a high underground passage makes it easy for someone to use a palm strike that comes down from the sky.
The dwarves spent countless hours building a very fortified fortress.
Their skills were superb. The interior of the passage was not made of rough rock, but rather had a precise steel structure as its framework, with the walls covered with interfaces and hidden channels for various defensive fortifications.
The winding defensive fortifications, along with a large number of segmented blocking defense networks, can kill any enemy who is unaware of the location.
Lin Li once again disguised himself as a taciturn dwarf soldier, blending in at the back of the column. As he hurried along, he observed everything discreetly.
A few days ago, he had sneaked in here to investigate. At the time, he felt that the place was too empty and wasted. He even wondered if the dwarves had built such a huge underground fortress because they were prepared for other races to be unable to conquer it and wanted to live here for the rest of their lives.
He hadn't expected that the interior of this fortress would contain so much more.
These dwarves are masters at hiding things, just like that military base in Tranquil Harbor.
Unfortunately, the underground labyrinth of the Great Wall has now become a breeding ground for the dwarves' corruption!
The former caregivers have become the destroyers.
Lin Li followed silently. From the core sealing base, they walked for several kilometers, making seven or eight turns and passing through several steel gates, until they arrived at a place where secrets were hidden.
"Quick! This is it!"
The dwarf leader stopped in front of what appeared to be an unremarkable barracks area.
It was filled with abandoned beds and empty weapon racks, looking like a deserted corner.
Lin Li was thrilled!
According to the dwarven veterans' rough account, this is one of the key armories of Pangulet Fortress.
Moreover, they are two core arms depots.
It not only stores a large quantity of elite dwarven equipment and weaponry, but also some big guys whose secrets have been passed down by word of mouth among veterans but can only be known among the dwarven nobles.
According to the dwarven veterans, whenever the fortress faces a life-or-death crisis, the armories in these places are activated by order of the dwarven commander.
When the time comes, these weapons of mass destruction in the arsenal will inflict endless suffering on the enemy!
Of course, most of the weapons in the armory are kept in the magic warehouse, sealed by magic to extend the lifespan of the equipment.
In modern parlance, it's commonly known as "collecting dust."
However, Lin Li guessed that the contents of this warehouse must be quite good.
Perhaps there is a device similar to a freezing field, a kind of magical technique that can easily preserve some items for thousands of years without decaying.
Several dwarves rushed forward and quickly swept up the nearby debris.
The dwarf in the lead took out the key, then placed his hands on the seemingly ordinary bricks on the wall, muttering incantations.
As magical energy surged within the dwarf, the uneven stone wall began to creak and slowly cave inward, eventually sliding open to reveal a deep, cold entrance.
Lin Li thought this place was similar to the armory in the tranquil port he had stayed in before, but unexpectedly a gust of extremely cold wind swept over him.
At the same time, a surge of magical energy rushed towards us.
"Such rich magical energy!" Lin Li exclaimed in surprise.
"Elder, please unlock it quickly!"
"Don't rush. According to the Great Records, the Second Armory has nine magical seals! The massive artifact left by our ancestors will require breaking at least eight of them!"
"Let's circulate the air first."
"When can we go in?"
"Wait a little longer! Haste makes waste!"
Lin Li followed behind the crowd, watching the air in the dark and cold armory gradually blend with the outside air, and muttered to himself, "I wonder what kind of treasure is hidden in here that makes these short guys so confident."
He suppressed the urge to act immediately.
He learned his lesson the hard way before, and he needs to remember it this time.
Who knows if these dwarves have set up any special measures at the entrance?
"That's about enough!"
"bloodletting!"
"Good!" A dwarf immediately bled, activating the various magical seals within the armory!
As the mechanical devices were unlocked, one seal after another was broken.
"You can go in now!"
The elder dwarf at the head gestured for everyone to go inside.
Lin Li was surprised that the dwarf didn't go in, until the dwarf pointed at him and asked, "Why aren't you going in?"
Lin Li quickly followed him into the armory.
He assumed the other person was about to enter, but then the dwarf suddenly stepped back and pressed a stone on the massive hidden door.
boom!
The giant gate closed shut!
"What's wrong?"
"Why did Elder Lapp suddenly back away and close the door?"
"How would I know? Did Lapp make a mistake in some step?"
"Perhaps there are errors or omissions in the Great Records?"
"Wow, there are so many weapons here!"
"That's true!"
"Hey, this weapon!"
Several dwarves worked together to lift a strangely shaped weapon from a huge metal box.
It resembles a rotary cannon similar to a modern machine gun, with several crystals shimmering with a ghostly blue light attached to the side of the barrel, in addition to the complex-looking pipes.
"Is this... the legendary rapid-fire magic weapon?"
"That should be true!"
"Hiss—too bad we're completely unqualified to be equipped!"
Listening to the dwarves still engrossed in observing the equipment and exchanging ideas, Lin Li swallowed hard.
His gaze was fixed on the darkness ahead!
"Ugh, why is it so cold?"
Crack!
In the darkness, the sound of machinery turning could be heard.
"What's that sound? It's really creepy!"
"Are you trying to scare me?"
A dwarf stared at the tightly shut door: "I don't have time to scare people! Strange, why hasn't the elder opened the door yet?"
Lin Li, now a dwarf, couldn't hold back any longer and spoke up: "Fellow colleagues, hurry up and activate your weapons! I feel like we're becoming sacrifices too!"
