These personal guards were well-equipped and quite brave, but they were still no match for Lü Bu, whose attributes were almost maxed out, whose equipment was excellent, and who had the assistance of Cheng Lian and others.

Lu Bu wielded his halberd with either thrusting or sweeping motions, his moves expansive and powerful, his strength unmatched.

Fan Chou's personal guards' attempt to intercept them was like a mantis trying to stop a chariot; their weapons were knocked away, their armor was pierced, and people kept screaming as they fell from their horses.

Cheng Lian and the others also fought bravely, desperately protecting Lü Bu's flanks.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Fan Chou, with the desperate cover of his personal guards, finally managed to escape from Lü Bu's straight-line charge and fled to a slightly higher mound nearby.

He was still in shock, his inner shirt soaked with cold sweat.

"Quickly, wave the command flag! Order all units to surround and annihilate Lü Bu at all costs!" Fan Chou roared angrily at the flag bearer.

He realized that if he didn't seize this opportunity to surround and kill Lü Bu, he would surely lose the battle.

The flag bearer waved the flag representing Fan Chou's orders with all his might.

However, the situation on the battlefield plunged Fan Chou's heart into despair.

Apart from a portion of his directly subordinate troops and a few bloodthirsty Liangzhou soldiers who attempted to carry out orders and converge on Lü Bu's location to encircle and annihilate him, most of the Liangzhou cavalry ignored the wildly waving command flag.

They were merely disorganized routs or bandits who had gathered together during Li Jue and Guo Si's counterattack on Chang'an. They had little respect for Fan Chou, Li Jue, or Guo Si, and would not blindly obey orders.

Everyone has seen Lu Bu's performance; no one can stop him in a single blow. To try and kill him is just courting death.

Therefore, many Liangzhou soldiers either avoided the sharp edge of Bingzhou generals such as Lü Bu, Zhang Liao, and Hao Meng, and only fought with ordinary Bingzhou cavalry; or simply turned their horses around and fled back the way they came or to the flanks; some even lost their will to fight and knelt down to surrender when they saw that their commander Fan Chou was being chased and fled in a sorry state.

Zhang Liao, Hao Meng, Song Xian, Hou Cheng, and others each led a force, charging back and forth through the chaotic formations of the Liangzhou army, as if they were in an empty field.

Their gleaming armor shimmered in the sunlight, becoming a striking symbol on the battlefield and a deadly emblem that the Liangzhou cavalry avoided at all costs.

"Useless! They're all a bunch of useless trash!" Fan Chou saw it all clearly from the small hill and was so angry he almost vomited blood.

He had thousands of troops, but he couldn't command them effectively. He could only watch helplessly as Lü Bu led less than a thousand Bingzhou cavalrymen through his own lines as if they were nothing, and charged towards him again!

Lu Bu paid no heed to the scattered soldiers; his goal remained clear: to kill generals and seize flags!

He set his sights on Fan Chou's banner, and led Cheng Lian and his personal guards like a precise arrow, constantly adjusting their direction and relentlessly pursuing Fan Chou.

Fan Chou was terrified and could only keep changing positions, trying to escape Lü Bu by taking advantage of the complex terrain and chaotic battlefield.

But wherever he ran, Lü Bu followed, and the number of his personal guards was decreasing at a visible rate.

The constant movement and evasion of the commander's flag further exacerbated the chaos and collapse of the Liangzhou army.

If the commander is so cowardly, which of the soldiers will be willing to fight to the death?

Although the Bingzhou army was small in number, it had clear objectives, excellent teamwork, and high morale, often giving it a local advantage of numerical superiority.

The Liangzhou army, on the other hand, was a disorganized mess, fighting their own battles and even trampling on each other.

The battle was one-sided.

When Guo Si personally led his 40,000 infantrymen, panting heavily, to the vicinity of the battlefield, he saw a scene that he could hardly believe.

The anticipated scene of Fan Chou's five thousand cavalry surrounding and annihilating Lü Bu's remaining troops, followed by a fierce battle, did not materialize.

Looking around, the vast battlefield was filled with fleeing Liangzhou cavalry!

They abandoned their armor and fled for their lives, with officers unable to find their soldiers and soldiers unable to find their officers, thus completely losing their organizational structure.

Meanwhile, Lü Bu's Bingzhou cavalry, like tigers among sheep, split into several groups and, led by Zhang Liao, Hao Meng, Song Xian, Hou Cheng, and others, continuously pursued, divided, and surrounded the Liangzhou cavalry who attempted to resist or were unable to escape.

Further away, the familiar banner bearing the character "Fan" was moving crookedly on a small hill, while a fiery red figure (Lu Bu and his Red Hare) was relentlessly pursuing it, causing chaos and destruction wherever it went.

"How could Fan Chou have led the battle to this state?" Guo Si was dumbfounded and almost fell off his horse.

The 5,000 fresh cavalrymen of Fan Chou, on whom he had placed high hopes, not only failed to turn the tide of the battle, but also collapsed in such a short time.

"General, look over there!" The personal guard beside him pointed to the flank in alarm.

A cavalry unit from Bingzhou, bearing the banner with the character "Zhang" on it and led by Zhang Liao, broke away from the main battlefield and circled around to the flank of Guo Si's infantry main force.

Although their numbers were small, their fierce offensive and their intention to seize Guo Si's central command flag set off alarm bells in Guo Si's mind.

"Quickly, form ranks! Spearmen in front, archers ready!" Guo Si, a veteran of many battles, suppressed his panic and shouted the order.

Although the 40,000 infantrymen were in a state of panic, they began to reluctantly set up a defensive formation under the reprimands and urging of their officers.

The spearmen in the front row pointed their spears diagonally forward, while the archers behind them drew their bows and nocked arrows.

However, their formation was not yet fully stable when the fleeing Liangzhou soldiers, who had been pursued by Zhang Liao, surged back like a tide!

In their desperate attempt to escape, these routed soldiers disregarded any sense of formation and charged directly into the infantry main force!

"Don't come any closer! Go around! Go around!" the infantry officer shouted hoarsely.

But it was of no use.

The fleeing soldiers disrupted the infantry ranks, knocking down their comrades who tried to stop them, causing great panic and chaos.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Zhang Liao's cavalry swept past the edge of the infantry formation, unleashing a volley of arrows that felled many of the Liangzhou infantrymen on the outer perimeter, causing quite a stir.

In the center of the battlefield, Lü Bu had once again broken through the last barrier of Fan Chou's personal guards and charged up the small hill!

When Fan Chou saw Lü Bu charging close by, he was terrified and no longer cared about his command flag or dignity. He dropped the flag, and with the desperate cover of several trusted guards, jumped onto a spare horse and fled for his life toward Guo Si's central army.

With a single halberd strike, Lü Bu swept the flag bearer and flag off his horse. He then stood atop the hill on his Red Hare, raised his blood-dripping halberd, and surveyed the entire battlefield.

Seeing that Lü Bu had successfully captured the flag, the Bingzhou cavalry reached their peak morale and pursued him even more fiercely.

As for the Liangzhou army, whether cavalry or infantry, when they saw the [Fan] banner fall, many did not know that Fan Chou had escaped, but thought that he had been killed by Lü Bu. Their last bit of will to resist completely collapsed.

"General Fan has been defeated!"

"Run!"

"Lu Bu is here!"

This illustrates the importance of the commander's flag on ancient battlefields.
