Chapter 209 Demonstrating Strength

In fact, when Vaughn first used the spell development module to develop the Multispectral Vision Spell, he did not consider applying this spell to the field of acoustics.

It wasn't until he obtained a large amount of material on artificial wizards and used the Vision Charm to study them that the subtle interference of the frequencies of the human internal organs with light waves activated some relatively obscure knowledge he had learned in his previous life, which was recorded deep in his brain.

Acousto-optic coupling!

Sound and light effect!

ultrasound!

Infrasound!

"No matter can avoid vibration—" Stepping out of the strange sphere, he saw Pandora not far away, still holding her wand in a raised position on the ruins of a broken wall, and the wizards of the Magic Council swooping down above her.

Warn's thoughts raced.

Everything in his field of vision slowed down dramatically, as if frozen in time, but Vaughn knew very well that this phenomenon did not mean that the flow of time in the outside world was actually slow.

Rather, it was that his eyes received and analyzed light faster, and his thinking became faster as well.

The Multispectral Vision Charm is derived from the Extrasensory Charm, which is a spell that uses magic to enhance a series of senses in the body. The Multispectral Vision Charm also inherits a similar function.

Of course, this also brings some burdens.

As he shook his wand and used the infrasound charm, Vaughn felt his eyes begin to itch and his brain begin to throb.

That's caused by their high-frequency operation.

But it's still tolerable; if you want to use sound waves, you must ensure that you observe them.

In my field of vision, a ripple of light with an indistinguishable color edge quietly spreads out; it is formless, intangible, and imperceptible.

Only those who truly understand it know how dangerous it is.

The wand continued to shake, its immense magical power constantly being depleted. The ripples that had just begun to spread outwards in all directions were disrupted by the magic and the incantation.

Its wave speed, frequency, and direction of diffusion no longer follow the laws of nature, but instead—submit to the will of Vaughn.

This process is not as easy as it sounds; sound waves, which are invisible and intangible, are not so easy to "tame."

The itching and soreness in my eyes became increasingly intense, and the stinging pain in my head became more and more pronounced.

But Vaughn did not slacken his efforts, constantly observing and adjusting.

Finally, the direction of that cluster of ripples was determined!

Directly above Pandora, the wizards swooped down.

"—Vibrations produce sound waves; this is true of mountains, rocks, plants, and the human body as well—"

Vaughn murmured, "100Hz————"

With that murmur, the first stage of the spell was completed, and the magical power within his body suddenly surged forth. In his vision, the ripples abruptly spread outwards— *Whoosh—*

Let's shift our focus away from Vaughn and back to the outside world.

In the instant that invisible ripple was released, less than a second later, a deep voice swept past the ears of the swooping wizards.

Soaring through the air!

It was a hard feeling to describe—strange, tingling, like static electricity sliding across the skin, gently tugging at the hairs.

Then came a slight dizziness!

"this----?"

On the flying car in mid-air, a sudden tingling sensation and dizziness caused Josiah Parker to stumble.

He looked at Donald beside him in surprise: "What is this?"

"----magic!"

Feeling the same way, Donald, contrary to his previous negativity, immediately stood up. He also stumbled a bit, but he didn't care about that at all. Instead, he quickly rushed to the window of the speeding car and looked down.

The next instant, his pupils contracted: "Vaughn Weasley!"

"What?"

Josiah Parker quickly squeezed to the window and, following the direction Donald was pointing, finally noticed the corner of the platform where the valley camp was located.

A strange "circle," because of the distance, appears as a tiny hole "embedded" among the broken walls and ruins.

He cast a spell to see far into the distance, and only then could he truly see that there were people inside that "circle".

A red-haired wizard!

This discovery made Josiah Parker ignore the anomaly he had just witnessed; a feeling that things were spiraling out of control washed over him: "Damn, how did he get here?"

As is well known, spatial magic in the magical world requires the wizard to actually be in a certain place in order to teleport.

It utilizes the anchoring of memory in space!

Josiah Parker was quite certain that Vaughn Weasley had never left Boston since arriving in North America.

"Was it the letter that the witch set on fire?"

He suddenly remembered a scene he had witnessed not long ago. At the time, he wondered why the witch, as if she were about to commit suicide, led a group of werewolves to a destroyed camp, just to find a letter and then burn it.

"A gold-plated item? Or some kind of strange magic?"

Josiah Parker's thoughts raced for a moment before he stopped paying attention. He was more interested in why Vaughn Weasley had come here than how he got there.

And this answer is not hard to come up with.

"That arrogant little fellow is still too young and inexperienced. He lacks any political wisdom or understanding of compromise," Josiah Parker sneered, turning to Donald, who was still looking down at him. "If he were truly smart, he should have stayed in the hotel and abandoned these werewolves. Now he's come here, overestimating himself. What good has it done? Does he think he can use this opportunity as a stage to showcase his magical abilities? Hahaha!"

Josiah Parker felt he had told a very funny joke—who would imagine one person fighting against thousands of wizards under his command?

How can there be such stupid people in the world!

He leaned out of the window and instructed his messenger, "Sound the horn and order the troops below to be careful not to kill the witch or Vaughn Weasley."

"After all, he's one of Dumbledore's men; we have to give that legendary wizard some face."

His tone was full of calm and composure.

Looking down, Donald was not as optimistic as the Speaker. He stared blankly in the direction of Pandora, at the sky above Pandora, where the wizards of the Magic Council, who should have been swooping down, had completely broken up their formation.

They flew around aimlessly in mid-air like headless flies.

Then, inexplicably, some wizards fell down, brooms and all.

There was no light, nor any trace of magic. The wizards, like dolls that had suddenly lost their power, were dragged along by the inertia of their brooms and crashed to the ground.

Amidst the inaudible impact, blood could be vaguely seen flowing out.

—What is that?

Donald was so startled by the bizarre situation that his hair stood on end. Just as he was about to warn someone, another sensation struck him!

50Hz!

It was a deeper hum than the last one!

What terrified Donald was that this time, the buzzing was no longer accompanied by a painless, tingling sensation!

The moment the sound waves entered his ears, he felt everything go black, as if he had fallen into the sea or into the void.

A violent wave of dizziness washed over me!

The next second, Donald heard screams coming from near and far.

The rapidly receding scream snapped him out of his sudden panic, and he drew his wand, slashing it across his face at lightning speed.

Ironclad Curse!

A light yet resilient membrane formed before him in his perception, and after a few breaths, it completely enveloped him.

The darkness before our eyes finally dissipated.

But the damage from that brief period of darkness still lingered in Donald's body; he gasped for breath, feeling pain in his brain, eyes, and skin.

"What exactly is it? What kind of magic is it?"

I can't understand it!

I've never even heard of it!

Is it some kind of obscure curse?

But the Ironclad Curse couldn't stop the curse!

Countless thoughts churned within him amidst his astonishment and doubt, but Donald knew this was not the time. Catching his breath, as the pain subsided slightly, he pressed his wand to his throat and roared out the window, "Use the Armor Charm!"

He wasn't sure how many people would hear his warning; the outside world was in complete chaos, filled with screams and shouts.

A quick glance swept across the scene, and one by one, the wizards who had been riding brooms and high above others not long ago were falling like hailstones onto the flat, chessboard-like earth below.

Including the flying car he was in!

"Damn it!"

Donald didn't even bother with the esteemed Speaker Parker; he quickly scrambled to his feet and yanked open the carriage door.

A gust of wind rushed in, and the perspective shifted rapidly as the carriage began to tumble. The armor spell that was still in place protected him firmly, but it couldn't stop him from bouncing around like a ball as the carriage flipped and crashed.

"Leviosa!"

The wand lit up, and profound magic surged forth with the incantation, causing the tumbling carriage to suddenly come to a stop.

Out of the corner of his eye, Donald noticed that Speaker Parker was awake and trying to summon the Ironclad Charm. He quickly clung to the carriage and climbed out through the open door, only to find that the wizard driving the carriage had disappeared.

I don't know if I fell during the previous attack or if I was thrown somewhere while rolling.

The Thestrals pulling the chariot had already fallen into a coma, and they were still falling!

This is because the levitation spell is unable to support the weight of several Thestrals plus the carriage, and is gradually losing its effectiveness.

Donald quickly waved his wand: "Power Release!"

Using a spell to untie the reins of the Thestrals and the carriage, the poor magical creatures slid off, greatly reducing the weight of the flying chariot.

Donald gripped the handrail in the driver's seat tightly to steady himself, while simultaneously releasing and casting a levitation spell to make the flying car descend rapidly.

The mountain ground rapidly magnified before their eyes, until they passed through the treetops, at which point Donald unleashed several "shock-absorbing and speed-stopping" spells to bring the flying car to a smooth landing.

Boom!

The wheels of the coach touched the ground, a slight vibration came through, and Donald felt the weight of the earth. He almost collapsed in the driver's seat.

Only then did he realize that he was drenched in sweat in a short period of time.

The door on the other side of the carriage opened, and like him, Speaker Josiah Parker, who was standing next to him with his Iron Armor Charm activated, coughed as he crawled out.

The distinguished Speaker looked quite badly injured, his hair disheveled and his face bruised and swollen, making it all seem like just a short while ago, this same man had been high in the air, pointing and criticizing Vaughn Weasley's composure.

"What on earth happened?"

Josiah Parker looked dazed, as if he were dreaming.

And it was a nightmare!

He looked up and, through the swaying shadows of the trees, saw that the once dense array of wizards in the clear sky had been shattered in the strange attack just now.

It was as if a flame had been ignited on the gauze scarf, "burning" out a huge hole in the center of the array.

There were originally many wizards within that hollow area.

Josiah Parker saw where they were now—some were still floating haphazardly in the air, while others had landed on the rocks and trees not far from him.

They lay limp and broken on the stones and hanging from the trees, blood flowing from their wounds!

Josiah Parker stared blankly at everything, his aged body swaying slightly, then suddenly burst into laughter: "Ha, wizard, killed by a fall?"

Yes, those broken, doll-like corpses were not long ago his powerful and holy legion, high and mighty wizards.

They did not die on the battlefield with the werewolves, but in a mysterious attack, they fell to their deaths due to blindness and dizziness.

Am I dreaming?

He chuckled a few times, then his face suddenly turned ashen. He abruptly turned his head and looked down the gentle slope, about 200 feet away, at the figure standing in front of a strange circle, his fiery red hair swaying in the wind.

Josiah Parker gritted his teeth and, in a voice filled with resentment, confusion, and fear, uttered the other person's name: "Vaughn—Weasley!"

"100Hz is still within the range that the human ear can hear, but if the sound pressure is not deliberately increased, given the human ability to distinguish sound frequencies, it is actually only equivalent to a low-pitched noise."

"But this seemingly silent thing, because its frequency is close to the human body's resonance frequency, is enough to affect the human body, causing blurred vision, skin redness and swelling, dizziness, anxiety—"

"At 50Hz, the effects of frequency resonance become even stronger, causing decreased or absent vision, loss of orientation, and fainting."

The world in Vaughn's view was still slow.

While the high-speed brain activity was undoubtedly painful, it also endowed him with powerful thinking abilities.

Even the symptoms and data on the effects of low-frequency sound waves on the human body that he had obtained from those captured artificial wizards over the past period of time still lingered in his mind.

Infrasound!

This was the first direction he attempted to study and apply sound waves after discovering that the Multispectral Horizon Spell could indirectly observe sound waves.

Because in natural sound wave transmission media (air, water, and solids), the higher the frequency and the shorter the wavelength of the sound wave, the more difficult it is for the sound wave to travel long distances.

In contrast, infrasound has a very low frequency and a very long wavelength, and its attenuation in the transmission medium is very slow.

Most importantly, it is highly lethal!

The only problem is that infrasound is difficult to focus, and its low frequency means that a considerable amount of energy is required to achieve a lethal effect.

However, that was a difficulty in terms of purely scientific methods.

Magic can make up for this shortcoming!

In a vision devoid of normal object shapes, the slow struggles, falls, and shattering streaks of light failed to stir even the slightest ripple in Vaughn's heart.

He's not here today for negotiations or pleasantries.

It is meant to instill fear!

"When the frequency of sound waves is below 20 Hz, its effect on the human body will no longer be merely functional, but will directly cause harm."

Looking up at the remaining spots of light in the sky, Vaughn stirred his wand again, controlling and shaping the frequency, form, and range of the sound waves: "12Hz, A rhythm, the resonant frequency of the brain, eyes, blood vessels, and internal organs, requiring only a gentle pluck of the strings—"

What is the limit of magical power?

This is a question that Pandora Lovegood has always been most interested in.

People always have some pursuits in life. Some chase power, some yearn for money, and even those who are almost otherworldly like Dumbledore have a heart that wants to maintain the status quo and prevent the world from getting worse.

Pandora also had her own ideals.

magic!

However, unlike those "great figures" in history who sought the true meaning of magic, she was not obsessed with magic itself, but with the modern spell system.

As is widely known, the history of the magical world can be broadly divided into two periods.

Ancient magic, modern spells!

The former is extremely powerful, but at the cost of great difficulty in casting, requiring the combined effect of casting materials, rituals, and unique celestial or geographical phenomena. This is also the main reason why the witch hunt could continue for hundreds of years before the modern spell system was gradually perfected in the 17th century.

Ancient magic failed to protect wizards targeted by Muggles, stealing spellcasting materials and disrupting rituals—many wizards died due to the harsh conditions required for spellcasting.

Thus, during the long witch hunt, the magical world began to reform, and the modern spell system came into being.

According to the records of magical history, ancient magic could move mountains, fill seas, and create new land from lakes.

In terms of their behavior, they are more like ancient wizards who used magic, materials, rituals, and celestial phenomena to manipulate the power of nature.

In contrast, modern spells are like specific, less broad and macroscopic, small and refined "rules" that specialize in the grand scheme of nature.

A possibility.

The rules governing things indicate that water "may" exist everywhere, so wizards can summon clear water anywhere by "clear water like a spring".

If a door stands there, then since it is possible for it to close, it is also possible for it to open, hence the concepts of "Aramean Opening" and "Anti-Aramean Opening".

Therefore, in essence, modern spells and ancient magic are completely different systems. There is no castration or weakening, nor is there any favoritism between the ancient and the modern.

In Pandora's understanding, and in the history of magic she has learned, modern spells did not develop from ancient magic; the two only have a relationship of borrowing from each other, and there is no subordinate relationship between them.

The so-called "modern spell" system should have existed long ago; it's just that before the witch hunts, ancient magic was the mainstream.

It was the witch hunt movement and the urgent need for survival that forced wizards to gradually abandon ancient magic and instead develop modern spells.

Everything is a choice made by the times!

Similarly, Pandora believes that, as a choice of the present era, the modern spell is far from reaching its peak.

Most obviously, wizards have not yet developed a theory of spells.

Pandora didn't understand what a "black box" was, but as a spell development enthusiast, she was very clear that the current spell system was incomplete.

A true "system" should not be like it is now, where developing a magic spell relies solely on a momentary inspiration and a long period of trial and error and exhaustive exploration.

A true system should have a complete set of theoretical tools to guide its development logic and path.

Pandora was not a legendary wizard as learned as Dumbledore. She did not believe she was capable of constructing a completely new theory, but she had her own ideas, such as integrating a knowledge system different from spells into the study of spells!

Back in 1990, after reading about Vaughn's research on the properties of potion ingredients and methods of magic extraction in the newspaper, she thought she had found that "new knowledge system".

So for more than two years, she has been close to Vaughn and Isabella, who supports Vaughn's theories, communicating and learning from them.

Try to learn new knowledge and gain your own "inspiration" from the forefront.

She was very patient because she knew that the birth of theories and new systems was not something that could be achieved overnight, and she had long been prepared for a protracted battle.

Pandora never imagined that she would see a glimmer of hope so soon—

The first low, trembling sound reached her ears as she raised her wand, preparing to cast the "Ultimate Armor Charm" to fend off the attacking wizards from the Magic Council.

Compared to the legions still floating in the sky, or the teams scattered in the surrounding mountains, attacking werewolves.

Their numbers are not very large, only about a hundred.

But in small-scale battles, a hundred or so is already a despairing number; the dark mass spreads out in front of you, completely obscuring your vision.

Pandora wasn't actually confident she could stop them.

She just hoped she could hold on for a little while longer.

The moment she received the letter from Kingsley Shackle and Dolores Umbridge, she knew how to use it—light it!

Those are the thoughts and ideas inscribed upon it by Vaughn, the creator of the letter.

Pandora trusted Vaughn, so even though she instinctively dodged the werewolves' obstruction and the Magic Council's summoning of fireballs to bombard the camp, she didn't immediately use the letter correctly.

But Pandora managed to win over the werewolves and returned.

Both their two-year friendship and the current situation told Pandora that she could only trust that if she lit it and held on for a while, Vaughn would arrive.

She had no other choice!

When the letter was successfully lit, and it burned in the flames of magic, and the dark mass of North American wizards rushed towards it, mad, indifferent, bloodthirsty, and icy.

It was also the moment when the Ultimate Ironclad Spell was successfully cast, and a thin membrane stretched out.

Pandora closed her eyes slightly.

Then, a buzzing sound rang in her ears—

It was a feeling that was hard to describe, like experiencing tinnitus in the middle of the night when you're sleepless and everything is quiet.

It was just a little lower in tone, carrying a barely perceptible phrase:

"100hz————"

What does that mean?

Hertz? A Muggle unit of frequency?

Before she could even process the meaning of the phrase, after a very brief pause, the deep hum returned:

"50hz————"

Pandora frowned slightly. The instant the phrase reached her ears, she finally heard a strange sound coming from the location of the wizards of the Magic Council: "Hmm."

"vomit!"

"ah"

A cacophony of short, sharp sounds—pain, vomiting, screams—made her open her eyes and look over.

Then his eyes suddenly widened >
