Courtyard House: Initial Donation of 50 Million

Chapter 96 The Beginning of the Stealth Journey into the Frozen Tomb

The biting cold wasn't from the harsh winter of Beijing, but from a different kind of chilling, bone-deep, deathly stillness unique to the millennia-old ice. Wang Huanbo opened his eyes to find himself in a violently shaking metal cabin, the roar of heavy drilling equipment filling his ears. He was wearing a thick polar cold-weather suit (optimized system version, lightweight and warm), and a Weyland Corporation ID card was attached to his chest, identifying him as "Special Security Advisor/Ancient Civilization Symbol Expert - Dr. Wang".

[Ding! Dimensional travel complete. Current dimension: *Alien vs. Predator 1*. Time anchor: 2004, early stage of the Weyland Corporation expedition arriving inside the pyramid on Bouvet Island. Main quest: Acquire three complete sets of Predator equipment. Time limit: 6 hours (real-world time). System aids: Basic Predator symbol recognition, simplified pyramid structure diagram, and vital sign scanning (small area) are loaded. Good luck!]

The system notification sound flashed through his mind. Wang Huanbo quickly adapted to the environment, flexing his fingers, which were slightly stiff from the cold. The powerful physique from the Super Soldier Serum quickly dispelled his discomfort. He looked around; he was inside a large snow tracked transport vehicle. Several fully armed security guards, archaeologist Sebastian De Rosa, guide Alexa Woods, and others were present, the atmosphere tense yet excited.

"Dr. Wang, are you alright? The ice tremors were quite intense just now." Woods looked at him with concern. This mixed-race female guide had sharp eyes and a wild beauty.

"I'm fine, Ms. Woods. I'm just not used to the bumpy ride," Wang Huanbo replied in fluent English, his tone carrying just the right amount of scholarly gentleness, while quickly associating the people in the car with movie characters. His "expert" status allowed him to observe from the sidelines, rather than being as highly tense as the security guards.

The convoy finally came to a stop. Ahead lay a massive, drilled-out ice cave, revealing the magnificent, eerie entrance to a pyramid below, covered in unknown hieroglyphs. A stench, a mixture of ancient stone, millennia of icy cold, and some… indescribable, putrid organic matter, assaulted their senses. Wang Huanbo's extraordinary senses allowed him to perceive this dangerous atmosphere far more clearly than ordinary people.

"We've arrived! The greatest discovery in human history!" Sebastian's voice trembled with excitement.

The expedition team filed in. The interior of the pyramid was enormous, deep, and intricate. The reliefs on the stone walls depicted scenes of ancient humans worshipping a certain "deity" (the Predator) and offering sacrifices. The "deity's" adversary was a terrifying creature with a long head and inner teeth (the Alien). Wang Huanbo pretended to diligently record and interpret the symbols (actually, he was rapidly memorizing structural diagrams and comparing them to reality) while simultaneously maximizing his sensory experience.

He "heard" faint, inhuman roars and heavy footsteps coming from afar; he "sense" the subtle changes in heat in the air, some of which belonged to the explorers, while others were cold, swift, and hostile; he even vaguely caught a faint but extremely high-frequency energy signal—which was very likely the Predator's mask or communication system!

"The key to success is stealth and information gathering," Wang Huanbo murmured to himself. He deliberately walked in the middle of the group, neither rushing forward nor lagging behind, in a safe position with good visibility. He noticed Woods' vigilance and Sebastian's fervor, as well as the restlessness of the security captain and several team members.

As expected, the plot unfolded. The expedition team triggered a mechanism; the massive stone wall began to move and reassemble, altering the passage and splitting the team apart! Screams, gunshots, and the screech of some slain creature emanated from different directions! Chaos ensued!

In the instant the stone wall shifted, Wang Huanbo, relying on his superhuman reflexes and the structural diagrams he remembered, chose a relatively safe side path leading to a lower area on the flank, slipping in and avoiding the deadly traps of the main passage and the first wave of alien attacks. Like a shadow, he silently landed in a narrow, dusty passage.

"The first step is to break away from the main force and avoid becoming cannon fodder in the melee," Wang Huanbo calmly assessed. He took off his bulky winter coat, revealing a more mobile black tactical uniform underneath, and held an M1911A1 pistol (with a silencer installed) that he had retrieved from his system space, with his Nepalese kukri hanging at his waist. The Type 54 submachine gun was temporarily unsuitable for use in confined spaces.

He activated the system's vital signs scan, covering a range of approximately fifty meters. Several green dots representing humans were moving frantically in the distance, while even more red dots representing hostile units were continuously emerging from wall vents and underground cracks! Elongated in shape and moving at incredible speed—they were worker bee aliens!

Wang Huanbo held his breath, concealing himself in the shadow of the stone pillar. He saw two alien creatures dart across the intersection ahead like ghosts, lunging towards the direction from which gunfire was coming from. He didn't fire, he didn't even move. Now was not the time.

His target was clear: the Predator. Based on the scan and energy signal sensing, he locked onto a unique red dot that was moving rapidly in the upper region, emitting a stronger energy fluctuation. That must be a young Predator, enjoying its "hunt."

Wang Huanbo began to move. Like a nimble cat, he stealthily traversed the dimly lit, trap-filled pyramid passageways. The balance, flexibility, and strength granted by the super serum allowed him to easily leap over collapsed boulders and avoid the faintly visible triggers on the ground (judged by structural diagrams and subtle traces). His ears twitched, catching every sound: the crawling of aliens, the screams of humans, the distinctive charging hum of the Predator's plasma shoulder cannon, and… a heavy, unsettling sound of footsteps? (Perhaps a larger alien, or… the Imperial Guard?)

He arrived at a relatively spacious hall, which appeared to be an ancient sacrificial chamber. In the center was a stone platform, surrounded by scattered petrified remnants resembling egg sacs. Suddenly, on the scanning interface, the distinctive red dot intersected with a group of green dots (possibly the trapped expedition members) and numerous red dots!

Intense gunfire, alien roars, and a short, sharp plasma cannon shot rang out! This was followed by the final screams of humans and the sound of aliens being shattered.

Wang Huanbo's heart skipped a beat: "An opportunity!" He quickly approached and hid behind a huge stone sculpture to spy.

At the other end of the hall, a Predator over two meters tall, wearing its signature braided mask and covered in mesh armor and metal plating, was removing a plasma shoulder cannon from an Xenomorph whose head had been blasted apart. At its feet lay the gruesome corpses of two Weyland Corporation security guards. Clearly, a brief but intense skirmish had just taken place. The Predator had won, but Wang Huanbo keenly noticed a deep scratch on its left leg armor, oozing dark green blood (Xenomorph acid corrosion?), and its movements seemed slightly sluggish.

"Injured...good opportunity!" A glint flashed in Wang Huanbo's eyes. But he didn't act immediately. Because the scan showed that several more aliens were approaching the Predator from the side passage! And the Predator's visor also turned in that direction, emitting a low, battle-ready roar.

"When the snipe and the clam fight, the fisherman benefits." Wang Huanbo's lips curled into a smirk, like that of Lao Liu. He quietly retreated, finding a high vantage point overlooking the hall and easy to hide in—atop a broken stone beam. He lay prone like a stone, his M1911A1 steadily pointing downwards, the silencer gleaming coldly.

"Let you warm up by playing with these 'little cuties' first." Wang Huanbo adjusted his breathing, entering a state of absolute stealth, waiting for the best opportunity to arrive. Deep within the frozen pyramid, the drama of hunting and counter-hunting had just begun, and the most dangerous "Old Six" was already in position.
