Courtyard House: Initial Donation of 50 Million

Chapter 132 Dawn of Hope: A Moment of Choice

Emerging from the dark tunnel reeking of mold and blood, the group finally arrived at the underground train platform of the Hive. The high-speed train they had taken there stood silently, seemingly the only hope for survival. The platform lights flickered, but compared to the despair deep within the Hive, this was already the entrance to paradise.

"Quick! Get on the train!" Captain Xue De directed his team to board the train quickly. JD and Chambers rushed to the engine control room, attempting to start the train. Ryan and Lisa supported the wounded. Alice and Matt vigilantly watched the tunnel entrance, preventing zombies from pursuing them.

Wang Huanbo was the last to board the train. He stood at the junction of the carriages, looking back at the dark tunnel that had swallowed countless lives. The sounds of collapse from the depths of the hive grew more and more intense, the entire platform shook violently, and rubble and dust began to fall from the ceiling. Time was running out.

"How is it? Can it start?" Xue De asked Chambers at the front of the vehicle anxiously over the walkie-talkie.

"The system is locked! It requires root privileges or... physical override!" Chambers' voice was filled with despair.

"Supreme authority?" Wang Huanbo's heart skipped a beat. He retrieved the Red Queen's motherboard from his system space. "Try this." He handed it to Chambers, who had run over. This was the Red Queen's core, perhaps possessing supreme control over all of the Hive's systems.

Chambers, overjoyed, grabbed the motherboard and rushed back to the front of the train. Moments later, the train lights suddenly came on, and the engines roared to life!

"Success! The system is unlocked! We can go now!" Chambers' excited voice rang out.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief, slumped into their seats, and showed a long-lost sense of relief at surviving a disaster. The train slowly began to move, heading towards the ground, towards the sunlight, and towards freedom.

However, Wang Huanbo didn't sit down. He stared intently through the car window at the rapidly receding Hive tunnels, like the entrance to hell, his eyes deep. He knew this wasn't over. The Umbrella Corporation would never easily let the secrets of the Hive, especially a "perfect sample" like Alice, leave so easily. On the ground, what awaited them might not be rescue, but more likely… silencing.

The train sped through the dark tunnel, a temporary silence falling over the carriages, broken only by the creaking of wheels on the tracks and the suppressed groans of the wounded. The atmosphere, far from lightening after escaping the hive, held a calm before the storm.

Sure enough, just as the train was about to exit the tunnel and the faint light of day could be seen at the exit, something strange happened!

"Buzz—!!!"

A powerful electromagnetic pulse swept across the entire train! The lights inside the carriages went out instantly, and all electronic devices sparked and completely malfunctioned! The train continued to slide a short distance due to inertia, finally coming to a slow stop deep inside the tunnel, only a hundred meters from the exit! Utter darkness and deathly silence descended!

"What's going on?!"

"EMP attack! It's the company! They want to silence us!" Xue De understood instantly, gritting his teeth as he spoke. His worst fears had come true.

"Everyone on alert! Prepare to abandon the vehicles! Charge out on foot!" Xue De immediately ordered. The exit was right in front of them; they couldn't afford to fail now!

The team members grabbed their remaining weapons, preparing to rush out of the train car. However, from the direction of the tunnel exit came dense, heavy footsteps! Not zombies, but well-trained combat personnel! Immediately afterwards, several blinding beams of tactical flashlights and red laser sights shone from the tunnel entrance, firmly locking onto the train car!

"Listen up, everyone in the carriage! We are the Umbrella Corporation Special Operations Team! Surrender immediately, put your hands behind your heads and get out of the carriage! Repeat, surrender immediately!" A cold, amplified voice came from the tunnel entrance.

"It's over..." Lisa closed her eyes in despair. She'd just escaped one danger only to fall into another.

Wang Huanbo's eyes turned completely cold. The Umbrella Corporation's shamelessness had crossed his bottom line. He glanced at the exhausted and battered Team A, then at Alice, whose eyes were resolute and whose T-virus power was awakening within her. A decision formed in his mind.

"Captain Xue De," Wang Huanbo said, his voice calm yet carrying an undeniable authority, "take your men and protect Alice. From the other side of the train, retreat along the tracks. There's an emergency maintenance passage about 500 meters away that leads to the ground. Leave this to me."

"What? You're all alone?" Xue De was shocked.

"They have a lot of people, they're well-equipped, and they even have EMP..." Ryan also thought it was crazy.

Wang Huanbo offered no explanation, but simply began to act. He walked to the carriage door, his back to the others. The next moment, a warm and vast light shone forth once more! Though not as dazzling as in its prime, it shone like a beacon in the absolute darkness!

Ultraman's original armor - donned again!

The color timer on his chest was still flashing red, warning of low energy. But Wang Huanbo's gaze remained unwavering.

"Go!" He only said one word, then kicked open the twisted car door! The tall, red figure stood like a steadfast bulwark between the car and the tunnel entrance, facing the countless gun barrels and laser sights!

The Umbrella Corporation soldiers were clearly not prepared for this "thing," and a commotion ensued.

"Fire! Eliminate all targets!" the commander coldly ordered.

"Da da da da—!!!"

A barrage of bullets rained down on the Ultra Armor, sending up dense sparks! But rifle bullets, powerful enough to tear a human body apart, only left shallow white marks on the armor!

Wang Huanbo moved! He held nothing back! If he lacked energy, he would make up for it with skill and willpower!

He perfectly combined the essence of Wong Fei-hung's martial arts with the power of the Ultra Armor! The ferocity of the Tiger-Taming Fist transformed into a powerful punch from the armor, each strike sending a soldier flying, body and all! The speed of the Foshan Shadowless Kick allowed him to weave through a hail of bullets, leaving behind afterimages! Ultra psychic power formed an invisible barrier, deflecting deadly attacks! He even caught a rocket-propelled grenade with his bare hands, threw it back into the crowd, and caused a violent explosion!

This was no longer a battle, but a one-sided crushing defeat! Wang Huanbo was like a tiger among sheep, invincible! The red figure danced in the darkness, each flash of light accompanied by the screams of Umbrella soldiers and the explosions of their equipment!

The members of Squad A watched this miraculous battle with indescribable awe. They finally understood that this mysterious being was covering their retreat, using his last strength to buy them a chance to survive!

"Let's go!" Xue De ordered without hesitation, gritting his teeth. He took a deep look at the red figure fighting alone against the entire army in the darkness, and led his team to quietly retreat from the other side of the train.

Before leaving, Alice looked back one last time. Her gaze seemed to meet Wang Huanbo's (though separated by his mask) for a fleeting moment. A complex mix of emotions flashed in her eyes—gratitude, confusion, and a hint of…strange resonance.

A few minutes later, the gunfire and explosions at the tunnel entrance gradually subsided. Wang Huanbo stood amidst the wreckage of soldiers' corpses and wrecked equipment, the red light on his chest flashing more and more rapidly. He felt waves of weakness washing over him.

He glanced at the direction Xue De and his group had retreated in, confirming they were safe. Then he looked at the Umbrella Corporation logo on the ground, a cold glint in his eyes. He'd memorized that company.

Without pausing, he flashed forward, using his last bit of strength to soar into the sky, crashing through the rock strata at the top of the tunnel and disappearing into the pale light of dawn on the horizon.

As the first rays of sunlight pierced the blood-soaked tunnel, only deathly silence remained. The story of the Hive seemed to have come to an end, but the real turmoil was just beginning. Wang Huanbo returned to the prime time plane with a rich "trophy" and a grudge against the Umbrella Corporation, while the fate of Alice and the survivors of Team A, as well as the global crisis brought about by the T-virus, were just beginning.
