Zhou Weiguo's stomach was already growling as he left the neighborhood office, so he headed straight for the legendary Bianyifang restaurant. The aroma of roast duck wafted into his nostrils, and he couldn't resist devouring it. Patting his round belly, he thought, "Shazhu works at the steel mill, and Yushui is in school. Going back to the courtyard house now would just be sitting there doing nothing. Might as well wander around and digest."

Wandering aimlessly, he arrived at the gate of the east courtyard. The rusty lock struggled with him, and it took a lot of effort to finally "click" open it. The gate creaked open, and a pungent, putrid stench hit him, making his stomach churn and almost causing him to vomit up all the delicious food he had just eaten.

The scene in the courtyard was a pitiful sight. The stables had collapsed, leaving only a few crooked logs; the main house was completely in ruins, with only the pavilion in the distance barely standing. What should have been a garden pond was now piled high with black, filthy mud. Zhou Weiguo covered his nose, picked up a long twig, and carefully poked at the mud. He hadn't expected the water to be so deep. He couldn't help but think, "This pond must have been as beautiful as a painting before. How did it become so desolate?"

Just then, a branch suddenly snagged on something hard. Zhou Weiguo's curiosity was immediately piqued, and he gritted his teeth and pulled hard. With a "splash," the water broke open, revealing a corner of a rusty old-fashioned clock. He was stunned at first, then slapped his thigh: "I almost forgot, with such a big yard, there must be treasure hidden in the water!" But then he was troubled. He didn't have X-ray vision, so how would he know where the treasure was hidden? After thinking for a moment, he simply put the clock into his system space and went inside to study it slowly.

He didn't mind the dirt; he used a twig to pick out the clock, wiped the mud off his face, and eagerly put it into his spatial storage. When his consciousness entered the space, he was shocked to find it filled with mud. He muttered, "If only there were a separate area to store things." Unexpectedly, the space suddenly split into two parts. Zhou Weiguo was overjoyed: "This space is a real treasure!"

He tried using his spatial perception, and something amazing happened! The old-fashioned clock transformed into a virtual blueprint in his mind, every gear and every part clearly visible, even the finest signs of wear were crystal clear. Even more surprisingly, he discovered a hidden compartment inside the clock! Zhou Weiguo's heart pounded, his fingers trembled slightly, and following the method in his mind, he carefully manipulated the parts. With a "click," the compartment slowly popped open, revealing a beautifully crafted key lying quietly inside. He examined it for a long time, but couldn't figure out what it was, so he had to put the key aside for now.

After exiting the spatial dimension, Zhou Weiguo looked at the mud covering the yard and suddenly had a brilliant idea: "Why not just collect all this mud into my spatial dimension, scan it, and I might find some treasure!" No sooner said than done, he concentrated his mind, staring intently at the mud. With a "whoosh," a large patch of mud vanished from the pool, leaving only a bare bottom, which was quickly covered again by the surrounding sewage. His eyes widened, his heart pounding in his chest: "This impromptu idea actually worked!"

He suppressed his excitement and went back into the space to check. Although the mud was mostly filled with stones, rotten wood, and some small insects, he was not discouraged. He tidied up the space, locked the gate, and began frantically "collecting, collecting, collecting".

After working for more than half an hour, he had collected all the mud and water in the pool into his spatial storage. Upon inspection, he was astonished to find a great number of treasures hidden inside! There were more than a dozen pieces of gold, the largest being a ten-tael gold ingot, and smaller ones including gold rings; a pile of silverware and rusty ironware; several pieces of antique jade; and most of all, copper coins, densely packed like a small mountain.

Despite his joy, Zhou Weiguo was troubled by the large pile of sludge and dirty water in his space. He couldn't very well pour it back into the pond, could he? Suddenly, he remembered how dilapidated the garden had become, as the cart driver had told him yesterday. He also remembered that the bicycle given to him by Professor Wu from Harbin Institute of Technology was still in his space. He immediately took the bicycle out, locked the gate, and rode off towards the northwest corner of Beijing.

It took me almost an hour to find the park after asking for directions repeatedly.

The garden was overgrown with weeds, and there were broken walls and rubble scattered everywhere. He knew that the garden had suffered a calamity, so he could dump the mud here.

I was just riding my bike aimlessly when I came across an old farmer holding a large brick in his hand.

He offered the old farmer a cigarette and started chatting with him. He learned that villagers from the neighborhood often came here to collect bricks to build their houses, and that the bricks here were of particularly high quality.

Upon hearing this, Zhou Weiguo's eyes lit up: "Director Wang said before that the most expensive thing to buy when building a house is bricks and stones. Aren't these readily available and free? Besides, it's not illegal to pick up these things now!" He quickly found a large, empty pit and dumped all the sludge from the space into it.

After dumping the sludge, he looked for bricks in the garden. But after searching around for a long time, he couldn't find anything, not even a single broken brick.

He exclaimed, "That old farmer has such sharp eyes! He picked up all the good stuff!"

Just as I was feeling down, I suddenly remembered the system: "Hey, why didn't you give me a perception skill sooner? This is no different than a blind man entering a treasure cave!"

The system replied: "The reconnaissance function can only be obtained by unlocking the base vehicle, spy satellite, and Yuri units."

Zhou Weiguo grew anxious: "These solutions are too far-fetched to address the immediate problem. Is there any other way?"

The system complained: "You're so troublesome! Fine, since you're so sincere, you can use energy points to unlock basic scanning, which scans ten square meters at a time, and deducts 1 energy point per hour."

Zhou Weiguo slapped his thigh: "Then what are we waiting for? Let's start driving for an hour!"

"Ding! 1 energy point consumed. Basic scan activated. 4 energy points remaining."

Instantly, Zhou Weiguo felt as if he had gained X-ray vision, able to see through the ground and clearly see things ten meters underground. He tried to store the bricks and stones underground into his spatial storage, and with a "whoosh," they were inside. He slapped his forehead, exclaiming, "Why didn't I think of this sooner? I wasted so much time in the east courtyard!"

For the next hour, he rode his bike back and forth around the ruins, scanning the area. Time flew by, and his storage space was completely full. Zhou Weiguo thought for a moment, then decided not to renew his subscription and rode back to the east courtyard.

He found a large rock to sit on and carefully examined the contents of the space. The majority of the bricks inside were black bricks about 40 to 50 centimeters long, and there were also many large blue bricks about 70 to 80 centimeters long, all shiny and sturdy.

The remaining five pieces of wood were enormous. He couldn't tell what kind of wood they were, but he found them next to a giant building ruin during the scan. They were probably the beams and pillars of the original building. He noticed that they hadn't rotted after all these years, so he guessed that they might be some kind of good wood and put them into his space.

To his even greater surprise, he discovered a considerable amount of porcelain, gold, silver, and jade. Although most of the porcelain was broken, these finds alone thrilled him, and his heart pounded.
