When the black worm welcomes its twentieth spring.

He no longer questions why he hasn't yet escaped the bone-chilling cold.

The black tusk has become a hero who can protect himself and his family, and even outside, some people call him "Mr. Winston."

However, at home, because she is the head of the family, Wu Tu often argues with her father due to disagreements.

Dad said he's becoming more and more opinionated, but in reality, the father and son are always thinking of each other's best interests.

The young man, who had been brought and trained by the old butler and was preparing to take over, did not understand the reason for the father and son's quarrel. He was the only one who was anxiously wondering whether he should try to mediate.

The butler shook his head again:

"If you don't understand, then don't get involved."

But the young trainee housekeeper didn't understand.

Isn't this a power struggle between the new and old heads of the family? If they don't choose a good master, they will be blamed.

He often saw this scene in other aristocratic homes. The so-called aristocrats were nothing more than putting on a show in front of the media. Their secrets were even more dramatic and complicated than those of ordinary families.

But the butler understood what the apprentice butler meant and shook his head, saying:

"You can't think like that. Our family is different."

"Because of the young master..."

The trainee housekeeper could only continue watching the father and son argue.

Just when he thought the father and son were about to fight, the little guy suddenly headbutted Winston.

Winston, who is known for his tough and ruthless methods, was the first to lower his head after being bumped, showing an expression that said, "I really can't do anything with you."

Meanwhile, the beautiful and assertive new head of the family, Wu Tu, leaned closer to her father, clinging to him while asking questions:

"Don't you want me anymore?"

The trainee housekeeper had never seen them like this before and was immediately dumbfounded.

Richard, who was already used to it, walked by, and Kaylan nudged him with his elbow:

"Oh, that expression, it brings back so many memories..."

"Did we have the same expression when we first met this little guy? Like we were seeing a kitten that humans couldn't understand, but instinctively found adorable?"

When Wu Tu heard his family chirping crickets at him again, and saw that there were outsiders present, he could only immediately put on a stern face:

"Kaylan, if you're so bored, why don't you go on a business trip for me!"

Kailan let out a scream, but had no choice but to take the documents from the little guy's hands and dutifully open them.

He glanced at it, and his expression turned serious:

"Honey, do you want to see this? It's about... your aunt."

Wu Tu paused for a moment, but after so long, hearing the name again, he felt nothing at all.

He took the document and looked at it. He found that his aunt was sick and had no one to take care of her. She was in a mental hospital and was not very lucid. She looked like she didn't have long to live.

The hospital staff asked Wutu if she wanted to go back and take a look.

Sometimes my aunt would mention my younger siblings' names and say that she wanted to go home.

Wu Tu put away the letter, her heart calm and undisturbed.

He shook his head:

"No, I don't want to go back."

"Let her stay in the hospital, hire a caregiver to look after her, and let her spend the last part of her life with her."

In the end, she died alone, perhaps it was her aunt's karma.

Kalan lowered his head, almost touching the little guy's face like a big dog, to sniff out his emotions.

Wu Tu was amused by Kailan and couldn't help but say:

"Kalan, your hair is making me so itchy."

Kaylan asked him cautiously:

"So, are we still going out for a family dinner today?"

Wu Tu nodded:

"Of course I'll go."

He seemed to have completely forgotten those unpleasant experiences.

"This is to celebrate my new life! My depression has finally been cured, why wouldn't I go?"

Winston looked at the black cat, who was smiling and whose eyes were full of the word "beauty," and his own expression softened.

"But..." Wu Tu said a little shyly, "Dad, can I invite one more friend to our dinner party?"

How could Winston not know which "friend" the black clown was referring to?

His expression changed almost instantly, turning sour.

Kaylan muttered to herself, "Wow, that's a quick change of expression!"

"Mmmmmm!"

Richard covered Kaylan's mouth.

Winston, on the other hand, seemed quite hesitant.

He remained silent for a moment, but reluctantly agreed.

"Okay, I promise you everything."

"Dad will always be there for you and love you. I will grant all your requests. This is our promise, and I will not forget it."

Wu Tu then smiled, quickly took her father's hand, and together they walked out the door to the boundless, beautiful weather.

A gust of wind blew by, and the documentary about black worms that was playing on the television in the manor came to an end along with their footsteps.

[The main text has ended, and the story has come to a close as expected, but this journey is not the end.]

[It's not a lie that Dad and Wutu will always be family; it's an eternal promise.]

Perhaps in countless parallel universes, they will meet again and again.

Their story continues...

The TV screen automatically went black, and then the whole story reversed, as if it had been artificially sped up and rewound.

Everything has returned to where the story began.

But this parallel world (the "if" storyline involving Wu Tu and her father) is even more fantastical and convoluted:

In 5020, humanity underwent a completely new evolution, combining animalistic features with longer lifespans and stronger, more robust bodies, resembling the orcs described in novels. They are now collectively known as the New Humans.

The ancient humans, weak and fragile, have become extinct.

The new humans are now divided into the Alliance and the Empire. The Empire is led by the Winston family, with Winston Aiden as its monarch.

All members of their family have awakened the bloodline of ferocious orcs, possessing formidable strength, but also exhibiting particularly domineering and ruthless personalities.

However, they have recently imposed a city-wide curfew, seemingly to welcome their youngest son, an incredibly fragile egg that almost died in the womb.

The mother of this egg died in an accident, and the egg itself was also malnourished and congenitally weak.

As a father, this was Winston's first time incubating an egg himself. He had already developed a bond with the child through their daily interactions and had repeatedly instructed his eldest sons that if the little one was born, even if it was disabled, they should never despise it.

Richard and the others all agreed.

However, during a battle, Winston accidentally lost the egg.

The little guy landed unexpectedly in the slums and was picked up by someone with bad intentions.

The guys who picked him up noticed that the little guy's incubator and swaddling blanket were made of high-quality materials, clearly indicating that he was a well-cared-for egg from a noble family. They were thinking that once the owner came looking for him, they would rip him off.

But unexpectedly, the egg was already on the verge of hatching.

The little guy couldn't feel the familiar presence that had cared for and incubated him day and night, and in his panic, he broke through the eggshell.

But the little guy didn't even have the strength to hatch on his own. The person who picked him up just watched. It was only through his will to survive that the little guy managed to pry open the eggshell with his head.

But to their surprise, when they saw the little guy, they were first stunned by the cub's stunning appearance.

Then, they looked at the little guy in surprise:

"He looks so fragile, and it's impossible to tell what kind of beastman he is..."

The main story is almost over here, but I'm also reluctant to say goodbye to Rabbit and Daddy, as I feel it's a bit short. So, as I had planned before, I'll write some "what if" scenarios next to satisfy my craving.

Here are some tentative ideas: Imagine the cold-blooded patriarch, Ultus, meets a young Winston; it's an orc world where the little guy is a frail human; Ultus is the only omega cub in the family…

If you have any "what if" scenarios you'd like to see, feel free to post them in the book community, and I'll read them.
