Chapter 27 The Little Guy's Scheme
No sooner had Wu Tu left Cyrus's ward than someone else came to visit Cyrus and even kicked open Cyrus's ward door.
A figure rushed in.
"Cyrus?!"
A tall woman carrying a motorcycle helmet walked to Cyrus's bedside.
"Is the injury really that serious?"
The woman dragged the chair over and sat down, her long legs seemingly having nowhere to go.
She looked at Cyrus's pale face and sighed:
"You're really unlucky, my brother. Don't worry, I'll take over the position of head of the family. We're twins, your wisdom is my wisdom, so go in peace."
Lilith and Cyrus are twins, and they often argue about who was born first. Despite being siblings, they are arguably the most typical antagonistic couple in the Winston family.
When they were little, they were twins of the same age, so they spent the most time together and were each other's companions the longest and had the best understanding.
But because of this, they would go to school together, receive training, and compete together. So when they were little, Lilith made Cyrus cry no less than fifty times, and Cyrus would always try his best to get revenge.
Hearing Lilith tell him to die in peace, Cyrus finally couldn't pretend to be dead anymore, and he silently opened his eyes:
"So you're not going to the competition?"
Lilith is an extreme sports enthusiast. She actually has a greater talent for business than Biles, but Lilith is the epitome of someone who would rather die than be unfree; nothing can stop her from pursuing the limits.
"...I was planning to go deep-sea diving in Belize to chase sharks, but I came back immediately when I heard about your accident."
Cyrus gave a very faint smile:
"Then forget it. Rather than waiting for you to inherit the position of family head, I'd rather hope they can find an organ to save my life."
Lilith's expression also darkened:
"Can I use my organs?"
Cyrus shook his head: "Don't do that, Liz, you don't have a second heart or eyes."
Lilith was plunged into despair:
"How could this happen... No, I'm going to drag all those guys who wanted to murder you to the Amazon rainforest and let them experience what it's like to be killed by pythons and poisonous insects."
"I'll tear them to pieces...!"
"Oh... a lady shouldn't say such things." Cooper walked in with a stack of documents. "Lilith, you don't need to be in such a hurry. We've already found volunteers willing to donate organs to Cyrus."
"Their blood type is also a match."
Lilith's tears were still in her eyes, but she hadn't had a chance to cry out. Her stunned expression remained on her angry face, making her look somewhat comical.
"Wow, so fast! Wasn't Cyrus supposed to need a lot of organ transplants?"
Cooper suppressed the sharp pain in his chest and answered her:
"Yes... this time it went exceptionally smoothly, just in time for one of the volunteers who was dying."
Lilith was a little flustered: "Where's that volunteer? Is he in this hospital? Should we go visit him? Does he have family with him?"
"Hmm... I think we should give him some compensation, or a reward as a token of our gratitude. After all, we must thank him for saving Cyrus's life."
Upon hearing Lilith's words and knowing the whole truth, Cooper almost choked up.
But he had promised the little guy's request, so he could only force himself to answer:
"No, he doesn't need anyone to bother him."
"His condition is not good. He is very tired and needs rest."
How could Lilith not hear the emotion in Cooper's words?
She sensed Cooper's reluctance and grief, and was also affected by Cooper's emotions.
"Okay..."
Any normal person who hears this kind of news would feel regret.
Moreover, this person was the benefactor who was about to save her family.
Lilith, seeing that Cooper hadn't even bothered to exchange pleasantries with them and left after giving the instructions, couldn't help but turn back to Cyrus and ask:
"Why do I have a feeling that Cooper knows that volunteer?"
Cyrus looked thoughtful.
Could it be that the sounds I heard in that half-awake state weren't just a dream?
Is the child who claims to be his younger brother a real person?
But when did he get a younger brother?
They're still so young.
Cyrus suddenly remembered that just before the car accident, he had seen Kaylan send a message in the family group chat saying that Winston had brought a particularly cute child home.
Kaylan has very high standards; the fact that he acknowledges a family member means there's absolutely nothing wrong with them, and they must be genuinely adorable.
Cyrus was about to pick up his phone to reply to a message when he was hit by an oncoming truck.
No way...
According to Kailan, the child is still so young.
Cyrus recalled seeing the little guy's figure when he was half-asleep.
Thin, slender, and tiny, yet it uttered such sorrowful words.
"Cyrus?!"
Lilith looked on in surprise as Cyrus reached out and grabbed her hand tightly.
He seemed to have suddenly thought of something, and said with unusual firmness:
"Take me there...take me to find it..."
"I need to find him..."
Lilith was taken aback: "Are you looking for that volunteer? But we have no news of him."
"Ask... ask Cooper, ask Kaylan..."
"I must see him...!"
Cyrus used all his strength to grab Lilith's hand, and almost choked up as he said:
"That's our younger brother!"
Lilith was stunned:
"How is this possible?!"
Although she didn't believe it, she immediately called Kaylan.
Kaylan, unaware of what the little one had done, told Lilith directly:
"The little one is in the VIP ward across the street on the same floor as you."
Cyrus couldn't contain his emotions. He snatched the phone and said to Kaylan, "Did you know the little guy signed an organ donation agreement?"
Kailan paused for a few seconds, cursed, and hung up the phone.
After Cyrus finished speaking, he slowly exhaled and handed the phone to Lilith: "It seems he'll be here soon too."
Lilith: "Okay, first we need to go see that poor little guy who's willing to sacrifice himself."
She simply pushed Cyrus, bed and all, out of the room.
The bodyguards guarding the door were still unaware of what had happened.
They watched as Ulva walked over, Ulva walked back, and then Cyrus walked over... They thought the two brothers had something to talk about.
Who knew Cyrus was there to catch them red-handed?
And by telling Kaylan this, it was as if the whole family knew.
Including Winston.
No one would want to hide something this big.
Because none of them wanted to see such a young child having to think about sacrificing himself to save others.
