The immense pressure vanished. The massive black hull of the Devourer, wreathed in a purplish-black tail flame, slammed through the last sealing gate. Its tracks, suspended in mid-air, crashed heavily onto the scorched frozen earth, creating two deep craters.

The scene was one of utter devastation. The first line of defense of the Great Wall, the steel barrier stretching for thousands of miles that once exhausted the resources of humankind, had completely collapsed.

The sky was devoid of light. A massive, dark shadow, covering tens of thousands of square kilometers, loomed above the defensive line, completely blocking out the atmosphere. The shadow writhed and teemed with unspeakable, terrifying creatures.

Black rain poured down. The rainwater was a thick, inky color, mixed with tiny parasitic spores of living metal.

Black rain slammed into the newly formed [Abyss Annihilation-class Black Gold Armor] of the Devourer. Dark red, high-dimensional patterns immediately appeared on the surface of the vehicle. The acid and parasitic spores couldn't even touch the armor; they vaporized directly in the air half a meter away, turning into foul-smelling white smoke that drifted away.

The tattered defensive line was engulfed in an inextinguishable black flame. Steel melted, and corpses lay strewn about.

The panoramic radar on the main control panel was flashing red lights wildly. Xiao Huo's data stream was constantly filling the screen.

Thirty kilometers away, in Zone 09 of the Great Wall defense line, a broken frequency band is emitting high-frequency pulses.

The distress signal was extremely weak, accompanied by intense interference and static. A hoarse male voice could be heard intermittently over the communication channel.

"The remnants of the Xuanwu Garrison Company of the Great Wall. Three lines of defense have been breached. Requesting tactical nuclear strike coverage. The company swears to fight to the death. The Great Wall stands forever."

Then came a sickening metallic tearing sound, followed by a bizarre, inhuman howl. The sound abruptly stopped. The channel was completely drowned out by background noise.

The main control room door opened.

Ji Yun walked in, supporting herself on the doorframe. She had just emerged from deep hibernation and was extremely weak. Her pale cheeks were bloodless, but her eyes were terrifyingly cold.

She looked past the passenger seat and stared out through the huge bulletproof glass.

Thirty kilometers away, flames soared into the sky through a breach in the defensive line. Visible to the naked eye, tens of thousands of enormous deep-space parasites were tearing apart a collapsed bunker. These monsters resembled mutated arthropods, their carapaces covered in sharp bone spikes.

Ji Yun's gaze did not linger on the monsters. She stared intently at the rear of the monster horde.

Three enormous, heavily armored military trains were parked there. They were painted entirely in dark gray and had extremely thick armor. Heavy cannons roared from both sides of the trains. The muzzles were not aimed at the deep-space behemoths.

The fire control radar clearly detected that the heavy armor-piercing shells bypassed the monsters and accurately struck the remaining bunker defense positions of the Xuanwu garrison.

Ji Yun's fingers gripped the edge of the control panel tightly. She dug fingerprints into the metal panel.

"The Punishment-class heavy cruiser from Base 04." She gritted her teeth, each word squeezed out from between them. "Those high command members have long since sided with the deep-space entities. They cut off the supply lines to the first line of defense, sacrificing the lives of hundreds of thousands of veterans on the front lines. They turned the Great Wall into an altar, using it to secure ascension slots for deep-space passage. They want to abandon Earth."

Wang Hu slammed his fist on the carriage of the quadruple-mounted heavy gun, his eyes bulging bloodshot. "You son of a bitch, you traitor."

Before anyone could react, the communication channel was directly interrupted by a powerful, high-authority signal.

The main control screen lit up, displaying an image of a man whose upper body was entirely covered in mechanical prosthetics. He wore the uniform of a senior commander of Base 04, with three blood-red general stars on his epaulets.

Zhao Xiao. Commander-in-Chief of the 04 Base Purge Fleet.

In the video, Zhao Xiao looked down at the footage transmitted by the Devourer, a twisted, cold smile spreading across his face.

"I thought you died down there, JY-003. But your beat-up car was lucky to survive. Now, lay down your weapons. You, JY-003, and the traitor Ji Yun, you have been declared enemies of all mankind. Hand over the seven keys you obtained from the Earth's core. Send the Divine Core here intact. Then cut off the train's power source and commit suicide on the spot. I'll consider letting you leave with your bodies intact."

They stood firmly on the moral high ground, their tone brooking no argument.

Su Yuan remained expressionless. He drew his large-caliber sidearm directly from his right hand, pressing the muzzle against the main control panel. He pulled the trigger. The single shot shattered the external port of the communication module. The physical network connection was lost. The screen turned to static.

"Too much nonsense." Su Yuan said coldly, "Full speed ahead and crush them."

The fusion engine was running at full capacity. Blinding purple-black exhaust billowed from the exhaust pipe. The heavy tracks of the Devourer cleaved deep trenches in the ground as it sped toward the battlefield thirty kilometers away.

There was no pre-battle mobilization in the control room. Everyone spontaneously took their combat positions.

Wang Hu ripped open the ammunition box seal with his bare hands. The fusion armor-piercing shell he had just forged in the Earth's core using a refining furnace was as heavy as a small anvil. He picked up the shell and roughly shoved it into the main gun's ammunition feed slot. The ammunition belt rattled loudly.

Tang Lan kicked open the observation hatch at the top and rushed out, braving the torrential black rain and howling wind. She knelt directly on the outer deck of the vehicle roof, letting the black flames and acid vaporize around her. She held the specially made heavy sniper rifle horizontally, without using any aiming equipment. Her eyes were slightly closed, relying entirely on her intuition and the weapon to achieve a perfect harmony between herself and the weapon.

Jiang Yu closed his eyes, his remaining left arm gripping the railing tightly. His right arm, parasitized by the living metal, pressed directly against the cold side wall of the carriage. The living metal within him resonated with the deep-sea atmosphere outside. Countless chaotic ballistic information rapidly took shape in his mind.

"Enemy fire control locked. 75 degrees to the left front, 30 degrees to the right front. High explosive plasma," Jiang Yu reported the parameters.

The 30-kilometer distance ahead closed in an instant. Zhao Xiao on the other side discovered that communication had been cut off, and he was completely enraged.

Three heavy military trains, classified as "Punishment Class," spread out in a triangular formation. Simultaneously, massive missile silos opened on both sides of the carriages. Sixty supersonic plasma torpedoes soared into the air.

The exhaust flames completely illuminated the dim sky. The incandescent trails intertwined into a vast, inescapable net of destruction, engulfing the high-speed Devourer. The torpedoes were incredibly fast, carrying terrifying kinetic energy and plasma at tens of thousands of degrees Celsius, completely sealing off all of the Devourer's escape routes.

Looking at the radar screen from inside the command vehicle, Zhao Xiao immediately pronounced a death sentence.

Su Yuan gripped the steering wheel firmly with both hands, not even lifting his eyelids. His left index finger lightly tapped a newly added black button on the control panel.

[Planetary-level global force field deflection module] activated.
