From the second to the sixtieth shot.

0.004 seconds.

The human brain cannot comprehend this unit of time. A blink takes 0.3 seconds. A heartbeat takes 0.8 seconds. And in this extremely narrow gap of less than one five-thousandth of a second, all fifty-nine depleted uranium armor-piercing rounds were in place.

The tungsten-core warhead has a diameter of only twenty millimeters.

It's about the size of a glass marble when held in the palm of your hand.

However, it carries enough kinetic energy to penetrate an entire composite armor plate twice.

The second shot hit the right chest.

The third shot hit the abdomen, about seven centimeters to the left.

The fourth and fifth shots pierced the right rib cage of the supervising officer almost simultaneously.

The moment the warhead enters the grayish-blue skin, the subcutaneous tissue has no time to deform. The tungsten core pierces the skin, crushes bone, and penetrates muscle groups at a speed of 1,700 meters per second. The depleted uranium casing at the front of the warhead sharpens and deforms upon impact with the bone, causing the cutting area to expand dramatically.

Transient cavity effect.

This term, belonging to basic ballistics, describes the high-pressure vacuum cavity formed around the trajectory of a bullet as it passes through soft tissue. The cavity expands at a speed far exceeding the elastic limit of the tissue, tearing muscle fibers apart from their attachment points, causing capillaries to rupture under the pressure difference, and tearing the serous membranes on the surface of organs into fragments under the abrasion of the shock wave.

The sixth to twelfth shots hit the lumbar spine.

The supervising officer's spine was shattered in three sections by the concentrated bombardment of seven tungsten-core warheads.

Spinal fluid gushed from the shattered spinal canal, mixed with grayish-blue blood, and splattered on the edge of the command platform.

The thirteenth to twenty-seventh shots covered his entire left side of his torso.

From the armpit to the iliac crest.

Fifteen warheads pierced the same area in succession within a window of less than 0.002 seconds.

Each shot expands the damage beyond what was created by the previous one.

The rib fragments were pushed deeper into the body cavity by subsequent projectiles.

The lung lobes were crushed into pink foam by bone fragments and the bullet.

The spleen ruptured.

The left kidney was ejected from the retroperitoneal space by the shock wave and stuck to the inner side of the abdominal wall; its shape was no longer that of a kidney.

The twenty-eighth to forty-fifth shots were concentrated on the front of the chest cavity.

His sternum broke into four pieces when the thirty-first shot hit.

After the pericardium of the heart was torn open by the bullet, the root of the aorta was severed, and a high-pressure column of blood gushed out from the wound in the chest cavity, with a range of more than two meters.

The blood was grayish-blue.

A faint glow carrying the residual energy of higher-dimensional laws.

It made a slight sizzling sound when it splashed onto the metal floor, and burned small bubbles into the surface paint.

All shots from the forty-sixth to the sixtieth hit the head and neck.

The cervical vertebrae fractured during the forty-eighth attack.

The mandible dislocated from the face during the fifty-second shot.

The right temporal bone was pierced by a six-centimeter diameter hole on the fifty-fifth shot, and the bullet exited the opposite parietal bone covered with a large amount of grayish-white brain tissue fragments.

Throughout the entire process, the supervising officer did not utter a sound.

It's not because of resilience.

This is because the signal transmission speed of his high-dimensional neurons is 120 meters per second.

The bullet travels at a speed of 1,700 meters per second.

Before the pain signal could even travel from the wound to the dorsal horn of the spinal cord, the bullet had already severed that segment of nerve fiber.

In those 0.004 seconds, his brain didn't even have time to generate the thought, "I'm injured."

The force field of laws was flashing wildly.

The ninth-order golden light enveloped the surface of the war supervisor's tattered body, with the alternation of light and shadow occurring at a frequency so fast that it was indistinguishable to the human eye.

That's the Law Defense System performing an emergency threat search at the underlying level.

Hundreds of millions of cross-matches per second.

The database contains 24 million known attack patterns.

Conceptual erosion, law alteration, causal rewriting, dimensional folding, existence denial, time reversal, information annihilation...

No match found.

Because the thing that attacked it is not in the database.

gunpowder.

Nitrocellulose burns rapidly in a confined space, generating high-temperature, high-pressure gas that propels the metal projectile along the rifling.

This technology was already mature in the 14th century of the Blue Star Era.

钨。

Atomic number 74. Density 19.35 g/cm³. Mohs hardness 9.

One of the most common high-density, high-hardness metals in the universe.

These two things combined constitute an attack form that is completely unclassifiable by any system of rules.

It is not a "conceptual attack".

It is not "high-dimensional information tampering".

It is not a "law weapon".

It is not anything within the scope of the law system's cognition.

It was just a piece of metal flying around.

It flies very fast.

The defense protocol of the law field has fallen into a vicious cycle.

Search – No match – Search again – No match – Expand search scope – Still no match – Increase priority – Still no match.

Hundreds of millions of times per second.

Each time, it returns the same result: "Unknown type, cannot be classified, defense strategy: null".

The conditions for defense activation are not met.

The defense was not activated.

The law field was lit up from beginning to end.

A golden glow enveloped the entire officer.

Beautiful. Noble. Solemn.

But the bullet went right through.

Every shot went right through.

It passed right through that layer of golden light.

The golden light did not stop it.

Because Jin Guang didn't recognize it.

For the first time, the ninth-order law force field that the war supervisor was so proud of was stained with physical blood.

Grayish-blue blood spurted from the puncture in his left shoulder, splattering onto the floor of the command room.

The sound of blood hitting the ground was very soft.

pat.

It had a fishy, foul odor.

The blood of beings in higher dimensions also smells bad.

Different ingredients. Different smells. But the essence is the same.

They are all amino acid oxidation products resulting from protein degradation.

It smells like rotten rust mixed with spoiled egg white.

The golden light was stained with blood.

The air in the entire command room smelled different.

Smoke and fire.

Rust.

Burnt protein.

There's also that pungent stench unique to high-dimensional blood when it evaporates.

mixed together.

The time taken to fire sixty rounds of ammunition was less than 0.01 seconds.

But the machine guns didn't stop.

The gears are still turning. The spring is still pushing. The firing pin is still falling.

The depleted uranium armor-piercing rounds on the feed chain are arranged neatly, with the spacing between each round precisely controlled by the pitch of the ratchet.

One shot after another.

Mechanical. Repetitive. Emotionless.

Sixty-first shot. Sixty-second shot. Sixty-third shot.

The supervising officer's body began to move backward under the continuous bombardment of bullets.

It was not a voluntary retreat.

It is purely a transfer of momentum.

The momentum carried by each bullet is transferred to his body upon impact, propelling him to move in the opposite direction.

Junior high school physics.

Newton's Second Law.

F equals ma.

His feet left two gray-blue streaks of blood on the floor.

The force field of the laws was still flashing.

Still searching.

The search results are still empty.

On the hundredth shot, the supervising officer's left arm dislocated from his shoulder joint.

It wasn't cut off.

The tendons, ligaments, and joint capsule around the shoulder joint were all shattered by the repeated impacts of the dense bullets, and the bone slid out of the joint socket.

The arm fell to the floor.

The gray-blue fingers were still twitching.

The residual energy of the core of the law at the fingertip hissed out from the cut surface.

On the 120th shot, his abdomen was pierced, leaving a large hole running from front to back.

From the anterior abdominal wall to the posterior lumbar muscles.

It has a diameter of more than 15 centimeters.

Fragments of intestines hung on the edge of the opening, swaying slightly in the airflow.

Four machine guns. In four directions.

The crossfire pinned him to the very center of the command room.

Its gray-blue body trembled amidst the barrage of comments.

Each hit results in a tiny displacement.

The displacements in the four directions canceled each other out, and he was suspended in place by the combined force of the barrage.

Hanging in the balance.

Shaking.

Blood was gushing out.

The golden luster of the law field began to flicker.

It's not that there's not enough energy.

The carrier is collapsing.

Force fields need to be attached to a material structure to operate.

Meanwhile, the body bearing the force field is being dismantled piece by piece by metal and gunpowder.

The two hundredth shot.

The right side of the supervising officer's skull was hit by concentrated bombardment, and fragments of the temporal bone, along with brain tissue, were pushed out of the hole on the opposite side by the bullet.

Grayish-white brain matter flowed down the cracks in his bones, down to his collar, and soaked the base of the tribunal badge on his chest.

His law patterns lit up completely at that moment.

It's not flickering.

It's extremely bright.

A dazzling gray-white light poured out from every line on the gray-blue skin surface.

The intensity of the light burned away all the shadows in the command room.

The officers kneeling on the ground instinctively closed their eyes and turned their heads away.

The bright light pierced through the eyelids and hit the retina, leaving a large yellow-green afterimage.

The supervising officer was burning with the very essence of life.

His body is changing.

Starting from the extremities, the texture of the solid object fades.

The grayish-blue skin turned translucent.

The outlines of blood vessels, muscles, and bones under the skin are faintly visible beneath the translucent surface.

Then even those outlines faded.

Conceptual state of nothingness.

The ultimate means of self-preservation for beings in higher dimensions.

It rewrites its own material existence as a non-material quantum probability cloud.

It's not invisibility. It's not dodging.

It means completely withdrawing from the definition of "matter".

The bullet began to penetrate his body.

It doesn't run through.

It means to pass through.

The tungsten-core warhead entered his chest without encountering any obstruction and exited through his back.

No wound. No blood. No impact.

Because the area that the bullet passes through is no longer matter.

The bullet struck nothingness.

Nothingness does not accept the transfer of momentum.

The war supervisor's half-broken mouth was pulled at an angle.

He spoke.

Sound is transmitted through the vibration of the vocal cords in a quantum state via conceptual resonance. It does not travel through the air medium and directly affects the auditory cortex of everyone present.

That's enough.

Two words.

His voice was hoarse, a sticky echo of brain matter and blood churning in the remnants of his mouth.

But the tone was condescending.

"A trick of a low-level civilization."

His right hand was still there. Semi-transparent. Grayish-white light spilled from the outline of each finger.

Gunpowder. Metal. Momentum.

Only the left half of his head remained solid; the right half had completely blurred into light and mist.

"This is the extent of the physical limits you are so proud of."

The warhead is still flying.

The gears are still turning.

But the bullet that passed through his body no longer caused any damage.

The tungsten core pierced his chest and flew out from his back without any obstruction.

It's like a bullet shooting out a beam of light.

"The moment the blurring is complete."

The gray-white light in the left eye of the supervising officer was extremely bright.

"I will rewrite every single atom in this galaxy into nothingness."

"Including that ant that impersonates the Creator with scrap metal."

Microcracks began to appear on the floor of the command room under the gray-white light.

The structure of matter undergoes molecular-level dissociation under the radiation of conceptual-level energy.

The metallic bonds between metal atoms are cut one by one by the law of light.

The floorboards were not broken.

But it is no longer metal.

It turned into a loose mass of metal powder that barely held its shape by gravity.

If you step on it, it will collapse.

The fire control officer, who was kneeling on the ground, saw it.

He lay in a pool of blood. Two ribs were broken. His chest creaked as he breathed.

But his eyes were open.

The pupils were fixed on the higher-dimensional body that was becoming semi-transparent.

The bullets went right through. One after another. They all went right through.

It's useless now.

His lips drooped. The muscles in his cheeks were completely relaxed.

It's not an expression.

It is because the facial nerves, in a state of extreme despair, gave up maintaining tension.

The adjutant next to him had a broken nose. Blood flowed down his nose and into his mouth. He didn't even spit it out; he just held it in.

He was watching too.

The grayish-white light grew brighter and brighter.

Watching bullets pierce through the void more and more.

Watching as the laws of higher dimensions once again supersede physics.

A few indistinct syllables squeezed out of his throat.

"It's over..."

The adjutant's fingers twitched slightly in the pool of blood.

"No matter how hard we try... we can't defeat God."

The fire control officer did not answer.

Tears were welling up in his eyes.

It's not blood.

It is tears.

Physics lost.

The lower level lost to the upper level.

Hardware lost to software.

Iron and gunpowder lost to concepts and laws.

The advantage Su Yuan gained by using the old machine gun was only a window of opportunity that lasted a few seconds.

past.

They all know.

Once the etherealization is complete, this thing will wipe out the entire galaxy.

The Devouring Wasteland carriage.

Su Yuan's silver-black mechanical left eye turned.

The deflection angle is four degrees. The electromagnetic spectrum captured by the AM resonant slot is spread out on the passive receiving panel.

The mid-to-high frequency band of the spectrum remained unchanged.

The low-frequency band has an additional set of slowly decaying sine waves.

Characteristics of material quality decay.

Something is transitioning from a material state to a non-material state.

The quality is decreasing.

It wasn't eaten. It was rewritten.

Su Yuan's right vertical pupil showed no change.

He lowered his head.

Remove your left hand from the chip in your palm.

Five dark gold finger bones landed on the old-fashioned mechanical keyboard.

knock.

Short. (Short and short-lived)

The sound of finger bones striking the keycaps was crisp and somewhat jarring in the quiet carriage.

When each button is pressed all the way down, the spring in the mechanical shaft compresses and then springs back, making a crisp "click" sound.

Morse code.

The command contained seven characters: "Switch to high-explosive incendiary tracer rounds and fire in a wide area."

The Enter key was pressed.

An AM pulse is emitted from the concave surface of a silver-black mechanical eyeball. 1090 kHz. It passes through the car wall. It traverses the vacuum. At the speed of light.

Su Yuan lifted his fingers off the keyboard.

The surface of the dark gold armor reflected the backlight of the emergency light.

He didn't look up.

Flagship "Slaughterhouse"

Inside the Mk-IV machine guns at the four corners of the command room, the feeding ratchet received new AM commands.

Click.

The ratchet's locating pin pops out of the guide slot of the first spring chain.

The spring chain disengaged.

Armor-piercing ammunition supply has been halted.

The ratchet rotated fifteen degrees.

The second locating pin fell into another guide rail deep inside the machine gun base.

Red ammunition box.

The markings on the box were mostly covered by oil stains. The few characters that were visible were: "M-HEI/AP".

High-explosive incendiary tracer round. The warhead structure, from the inside out, consists of a steel core, zirconium powder incendiary agent, RDX high-explosive charge, and tracer tube. It detonates first and then burns upon impact with the target. The blast radius is 0.8 meters. The combustion temperature is 3200 degrees Celsius.

New chain engagement.

The first red-headed shell slid into the gun barrel.

Reset the firing pin.

The spring is fully compressed.

0.1 second.

The entire switching process was completed using a purely mechanical structure.

All four machine guns opened fire simultaneously.

The voice has changed.

The sound of an armor-piercing projectile being fired is a muffled, continuous, and deep buzzing sound.

The sound of a high-explosive incendiary bomb being fired is loud.

Each shot was accompanied by the overpressure impact of the muzzle flash, creating a continuous series of explosions in the sealed command room.

Puff puff puff puff puff puff puff puff.

Four tongues of fire shot out from the four opposite corners.

Orange-red.

The muzzle flash temperature exceeded two thousand degrees, directly ionizing the air within a half-meter radius around the machine gun.

A bluish-purple plasma halo pulsed around each cannon muzzle.

The bullet did not hit the supervising officer's body.

Useless.

His body was becoming blurred. The bullet passed right through him.

The warhead was aimed at the space around him.

The first round of high-explosive incendiary bombs detonated in a concentrated area within a one-meter radius around the supervising officer's body.

Each warhead's RDX charge detonates at the contact surface, generating a shock wave that spreads outward at a speed of eight kilometers per second.

The shock wave was followed by a secondary ignition of the zirconium powder propellant.

3200 degrees.

Four directions.

Four thousand shots per second.

Each shot exploded in that space.

The temperature is rising.

The air in the command room was repeatedly heated, compressed, expanded, and reheated during the explosion.

Oxygen is consumed instantly at high temperatures.

The concentrations of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide are soaring.

Water molecules are pyrolyzed into hydrogen and oxygen, and the hydrogen is then burned again at high temperatures.

The entire area where the supervising officer was located turned into a fireball with a diameter of two meters.

The core of the fireball has a temperature exceeding three thousand degrees.

At this temperature, the average kinetic energy of air molecules reaches an extreme level.

At the microscopic level, nitrogen molecules, oxygen molecules, and molecules of combustion products undergo random thermal motion at extremely high speeds.

Brownian motion.

Molecular-level collisions and chaos.

Every molecule is frantically colliding with everything around it.

Including that quantum probability cloud that is fading away.

The operation of a conceptual-level void state requires a precondition.

Stable space medium.

The essence of virtualization is to rewrite the wave function of matter from a deterministic state to a superposition state.

The superposition of wave functions requires coherence.

Coherence requires the quantum decoherence rate of the environment to be below a critical value.

A fireball of 3,000 degrees Celsius.

Extreme molecular thermal motion.

Each air molecule is a miniature decoherence generator.

They bombard the quantum probability cloud boundary of the warlord at a frequency of trillions of times per second.

Each collision forces a measurement of his wave function.

Every measurement destroys his superposition state.

The blurring process has started to freeze.

The supervising officer sensed it.

His translucent body trembled violently at the center of the fireball.

The body outlines that had faded to the point of almost disappearing are becoming clear again.

The quantum state is collapsing into the classical state.

The concept conversion code is throwing an error.

His law system displayed a series of abnormal feedback.

"Stability of space media: Insufficient."

"Quantum coherence maintenance: failed."

"Void state overwrite progress: rollback".

"Revert".

"Revert".

"Revert".

The translucent gray-blue torso gradually turned opaque again under the scorching heat of the fireball.

The white outline of the skeleton was once again covered by muscles and skin.

The punctured wound resumed bleeding after it returned to its material state.

He was blown back.

From quantum state.

It was made of gunpowder and metal.

It was subjected to a physical temperature of 3,200 degrees Celsius.

It was forcefully blasted back into a matter state.

The supervising officer's mouth opened.

On the remaining half of the face, the pupil of the left eye, which still had a physical form, contracted violently.

pain.

He didn't feel pain during the earlier armor-piercing round phase because his nerve conduction couldn't keep up with the bullet speed.

But it's different now.

His body returned to a material state.

All the wounds ripped open by the armor-piercing bullets sent pain signals to the brain at the same time.

Hundreds of wounds.

Simultaneously.

He screamed in agony.

The sound was squeezed out of the half-damaged mouth, accompanied by blood blisters and tooth fragments, and the shrill voice resonated on the metal wall of the command room.

The walls were shaking.

The ceiling is shaking.

The screws on the equipment casing, still embedded in their mounting positions, loosened a few turns at the resonant frequency.

He was shouting.

It wasn't screaming anymore.

It was a roar.

"The core of the law—"

His right hand suddenly rose up.

The mangled hand pressed against his temple.

Grayish-white light burst forth from between the five fingers.

He's going to self-destruct.

The core of the ninth-order law.

The ultimate energy core stored deep within the brain in a higher dimension.

The concept-level shockwave released after detonation is enough to erase a standard galaxy from the physical definition.

perish together.

"You insects—"

His voice switched repeatedly between screams and howls, the pitch fluctuating wildly, his vocal cords losing control under the drive of extreme pain.

"This junk—that's enough—"

His fingers pressed into the skin of his temples.

The brightness of the law light is rapidly increasing.

The temperature in the command center was no longer the 3,000 degrees caused by the fireball.

It is the rewriting of the fundamental temperature constant of space caused by the conceptual-level energy leakage before the core of the law is about to explode.

Absolute zero is shifting.

The wall began to bend.

It is not a physical deformation.

It is the geometric structure of space itself that produces micro-curvature distortion under the radiation of the law's energy.

The fire control officer, who was lying on the ground, sensed it.

His broken ribs were subjected to additional shear forces within the distorted spatial curvature.

A new cracking sound came from his chest.

A mouthful of blood welled up in his mouth.

It couldn't be contained. It overflowed.

Dark red blood trickled from the corner of his mouth down to his chin and onto the floor, mixing with the overseer's grayish-blue blood.

The adjutant's nosebleed, which had flowed naturally due to the spatial distortion, became a horizontal splatter. The blood droplets traced an arc in the curved space, splashing onto the equipment cabinet three meters away.

The core of the law is about to explode.

The four machine guns are still firing.

The high-explosive incendiary bombs are still exploding.

However, the bullet can only cause physical damage.

Physical damage cannot stop a concept-level self-destruction.

The supervising officer's remaining left eye was filled with madness.

The pupils were dilated to their maximum size.

A grayish-white light shone from the depths of his pupils, illuminating a meter of space in front of him.

The corners of his mouth twisted upwards.

It wasn't a laugh. It was a spasm of the facial muscles after the pain reached its extreme.

But it looks like a smile.

"Let's die together."

His fingers clenched at his temples.

The energy reading at the core of the law surged toward the critical explosion threshold.

Remaining ammunition.

The ammunition magazine indicators on the four machine guns showed that the armor-piercing ammunition belts were empty. The remaining high-explosive incendiary ammunition belts were rapidly decreasing.

There are 3,000 rounds left on the ammunition supply chain.

Armor-piercing shells and high-explosive incendiary shells are mixed together.

The ratchet no longer distinguishes between different types of ammunition.

Two ammunition belts engage simultaneously, feeding ammunition alternately.

The firing rate of the four machine guns reached the physical limits of the mechanical structure.

The gears emitted a sharp metallic whistle as they operated at excessive speed.

The spring produces an audible deformation sound when it is under extreme compression.

The barrel temperature of each machine gun soared to over 700 degrees Celsius. The barrel walls bent slightly due to thermal expansion, but the gears continued to turn and the firing pin continued to fall.

The four fire whips have been put away.

It is no longer a one-meter radius coverage shot.

The trajectories of the four machine guns were adjusted simultaneously by two degrees through a mechanically linked ratchet mechanism.

The four trajectories converged at one point.

The head of the supervising officer.

Three thousand shots.

Armor-piercing and incendiary rounds hit alternately.

Sixteen thousand shots per second.

The tungsten-core warhead arrived first.

The 20-millimeter metal pillar struck the half of the skull that still had solid structure at a speed of 1,700 meters per second.

The skull cracked open under the kinetic energy of the first shot.

The second bullet pierced through the crack, its tip tumbling and deflecting within the cranial cavity, slicing the brain tissue along its path into fragments.

The third shot followed immediately, penetrating a second entrance through a weak point in the bone wall.

The fourth shot was a high-explosive incendiary bomb.

The bullet entered the cranial cavity.

The fuse is triggered.

The RDX explosive charge detonates inside the cranial cavity.

An explosion inside a confined space.

The shock wave had nowhere to spread and was reflected back by the remaining structure of the skull, repeatedly superimposed within the cranial cavity.

The combined peak pressure exceeded the fracture strength of the skull.

The skull exploded from the inside out.

Fragments of bone. Brain matter. Blood. Fragments of the core of the law.

Mixed with tungsten powder. Mixed with unburned zirconium powder. Mixed with RDX detonation remnants.

It flew out in all directions from above the supervising officer's head.

The core of the law didn't have time to self-destruct.

Because it was physically destroyed before it could self-destruct.

A tungsten-core armor-piercing projectile directly hit the material carrier of the core of the law—the fist-sized grayish-white sphere.

The hardness of the tungsten core is 9 on the Mohs scale.

The physical hardness of the core carrier of the law is 6.5 on the Mohs scale without the support of the law.

They're two and a half levels apart.

The tungsten core was drilled through it right in the middle.

The sphere shattered into four pieces.

Each petal released a small amount of residual energy of the law the moment it shattered.

But energy is disordered.

It did not undergo core unified regulation.

The disordered energy diffused in the air for less than half a meter before decaying to the level of background noise.

It didn't explode.

The remaining 2,900 rounds of ammunition were all fired in less than 0.2 seconds.

The alternating bombardment of armor-piercing and incendiary shells completely erased the warlord's head, cervical vertebrae, and upper chest from the list of matter in this universe.

It's not a deletion at the level of rules.

It's at the physical level.

It broke.

It's worn out.

It melted.

Above the shoulders, there was nothing left.

Instead, a cloud of aerosols suspended in the air, composed of tungsten powder, bone powder, brain tissue fragments, grayish-blue blood mist, and combustion residue, was formed.

The cloud formations spun slowly in the aftershocks of the gunfire storm.

Tiny particles refract a dim, dirty, multicolored light under the bottom light of the emergency lights.

That's nothing else.

That was the head of a ninth-order high-dimensional arbitration tribunal overseer, ground into powder by purely physical means.

No grand concepts have been obliterated.

There are no spectacular laws to counteract each other.

There was no cross-dimensional clash of wills.

It's metal and gunpowder.

Springs and gears.

Copper and tungsten.

They beat a god who thought he could never be physically touched into a pile of rubble on the floor—

It was smashed into a thin layer of blood and flesh paste mixed with metal powder on the floor.

The headless torso of the supervising officer remained upright for about 0.3 seconds after losing brain control.

The patterns of law flashed twice more on the surface of the torso.

It went dark.

Went out.

The torso fell forward.

With a snap.

It wasn't the dull thud of a heavy object falling to the ground.

It was the sound of soft material hitting the ground.

Because the bones and organs inside the torso had been mostly destroyed by the intense bombardment during the armor-piercing stage, the structural strength of the entire body was not much higher than that of a plastic bag full of crushed ice.

The impact of falling caused the remaining grayish-blue fluid inside the torso to be squeezed out from the various wounds.

A dark puddle of liquid quickly spread across the floor.

The gears of the four machine guns spun three times in idle mode after firing the last round of ammunition.

The ratchet on the ammunition feeding chain had no ammunition to turn.

The gears gradually slowed down.

Stopped.

The gun barrel was red-hot.

The high temperature of over 700 degrees Celsius burned away all the anti-rust paint on the surface of the gun barrel.

The exposed alloy emitted a faint clicking sound during the cooling process.

The intermittent, irregular sound characteristic of metal contraction.

Click.

Stop for a moment.

Crackling.

Stop for a moment.

Click.

The command center fell silent.

The smoke was thick.

The density was so high that visibility was less than two meters.

Grayish-white smoke swirls slowly in the weak airflow of the circulating ventilation system.

Heavier particles—tungsten powder, bone meal, and combustion residue—deposited at the bottom of the smoke.

The fire control officer was lying face down on the floor.

His gaze pierced through the two-meter-thick smoke and landed on the headless, gray-blue torso.

Cross-section of the torso.

The cross-section is irregular.

Bone fragments, broken muscle fibers, and remnants of blood vessel walls were all mixed in a layer of grayish-brown metallic powder.

Tungsten powder is embedded in the meat.

The meat was embedded in tungsten powder.

I can't tell the difference.

The fire control officer's tears mingled with blood, dripping from his face and falling into the pool of blood on the floor.

His mouth was open.

My lower lip is trembling.

It shook for a long time.

Two words were squeezed out.

"Dead?"

The adjutant leaned against the equipment cabinet. Blood from his nose smeared his entire chin. His eyes were fixed on the headless corpse for five seconds.

"He's dead."

Both of their voices were very soft.

It was so faint that it was almost drowned out by the clicking sound of the gun barrel cooling down.

The communications officer slumped beneath the tactical console. Blood continued to gush from the wound on his temple, pierced by threads of law. He was completely deaf in his left ear.

But my right ear is still okay.

He heard the word "dead".

He shrank back slightly.

They curled up into a ball.

survived.

Wasteland shelter.

The commander's hands had been off his knees for a long time.

His arms hung limply at his sides. He slumped onto the metal floor, his back against the base of the control panel.

Its posture is almost exactly the same as Little Fire in the Devourer.

The image on the home screen is still there.

Smoke and fire.

A pool of blood.

A headless, grayish-blue torso.

And those four Mk-IV machine guns with red-hot barrels and empty ammunition belts.

The staff officer stood beside him.

My legs stopped shaking a long time ago.

It's not because I'm not afraid anymore.

It was from shaking itself out of exhaustion. The frequency of muscle spasms naturally decreased after being subjected to sustained high intensity.

My legs are stiff. I can't feel anything while standing.

He stared at the screen for a long time.

Watching the aerosol cloud, a mixture of tungsten powder and brain matter, slowly settle in the smoke.

"Ninth rank." The advisor's mouth moved.

It paused for two seconds.

"Golden Law Force Field. Conceptual-level Void State."

It paused for another two seconds.

"He was killed by four purely mechanical machine guns that had been retired for who knows how many years."

The commander didn't raise his head.

"How to kill him?"

The staff officer closed his eyes.

Open your eyes again.

"High-explosive incendiary bomb. Gunpowder propellant. Tungsten core armor-piercing."

His voice paused unnaturally when he said the last four words.

"Physically speaking... it was ground into powder."

The commander's head rested against the metal panel of the control panel. His eyes were fixed on the ceiling.

There are several wiring conduits on the ceiling. The conduits are covered in dust.

He stared at the gray.

"The law is above all else." His voice came from the bottom of his throat.

"Concepts govern matter."

"Higher dimensions crush lower dimensions."

It stopped for a long time.

"Oh shit."

A dirty word.

After he finished speaking, a breath came out of his chest. It wasn't a sigh, but the kind of sound one makes when someone has been held underwater for a long time and finally comes up to breathe their first air.

A high-dimensional dark web. A temporary observation space.

The young elder lay prostrate before the ruins of the Law Wall.

Black blood soaked the ground in front of him into a dark puddle.

Half of his face was soaked in his own blood.

The blood temperature has returned to normal. It's the same as body temperature.

After soaking for a while, I couldn't tell which side was my face and which side was blood.

The remaining observation interface hung above him.

The image freezes on the last frame of the four machine guns firing simultaneously.

Flames. Shell casings. Gun smoke. And that spreading grayish-brown aerosol cloud.

A bubble rose from the young elder's mouth in the pool of blood.

"Ninth-rank war supervisor".

The blister burst. A few drops of blood splattered out.

"The standard sequence, the pure gold law patterns, and the conceptual-level void state have all been released."

His fingers dug into the pool of blood. His nails scraped against the shattered walls of law.

It made a slight creaking sound.

"Died from gunpowder."

It paused for a moment.

"Died from a spring."

It paused again.

"Died from the gears."

His eyes struggled to move once amidst the pool of blood.

The pupils were fixed on the headless, gray-blue torso on the observation interface.

"It didn't even produce a single fluctuation of the laws. It was just like that, completely destroyed..."

He didn't finish speaking.

His mouth closed.

The facial muscles made a swallowing motion, but there was nothing in the throat to swallow. This is dry heaving. It's physiological.

The old elder next to him had been half-closing his eyes ever since his core of law shattered.

A small section of his chest had collapsed.

My heart is beating, but so faint that I have to put my hand on my chest to feel it.

His lips trembled slightly.

Perhaps they wanted to say something.

It could also just be random discharges of the facial nerves.

I can't tell the difference.

Command center of the flagship "Slaughterhouse".

The smoke gradually thinned as the ventilation system continued to operate.

Visibility has recovered from two meters to five meters.

The blood on the floor had stopped flowing.

The grayish-blue bodily fluids of the supervising officer and the dark red human blood of the officers mixed together, forming a large, irregular dark pattern on the metal floor of the command room.

The edges began to solidify.

It's still wet in the middle.

The barrel temperatures of the four Mk-IV cannons dropped below 400 degrees Celsius.

The clicking sound became less frequent.

The intervals are getting longer and longer.

After the final click, only the hum of the ventilation system remained in the command room.

The fire control officer was lying on the ground.

The adjutant leaned against the cabinet.

The communications officer huddled below the tactical console.

The other four officers were scattered throughout the command room.

Some were lying down. Some were kneeling. Some were sitting against the wall.

No one was standing.

They were all looking at the same thing.

That headless, gray-blue torso that had ceased all fluctuations of the laws of nature.
