Hogwarts' Golden Glory

Chapter 89 Professor Old's Dedication

Just as Kane was enjoying the warmth of his family.

In an abandoned castle on the edge of the Black Forest, Grindelwald stands before a broken stained-glass window.

The moonlight cast his shadow long and eerie.

His heterochromatic eyes were fixed on the distance, and he was toying with a gold pocket watch inlaid with symbols of the Deathly Hallows in his hand.

Before him, twelve black-robed wizards stood motionless like statues, and a tense atmosphere filled the air.

"Kane Malfoy," Grindelwald's voice was deep and magnetic, "this boy deserves a special Christmas present."

His fingers tapped lightly on the pocket watch, and the hands on the dial suddenly reversed, projecting the phantom image of a phoenix.

The twelve black-robed apostles rose at the same time.

"But Master," the woman wrapped in a Thestral cloak mustered her courage to say, "isn't this gift too dangerous for him?"

Then, her voice held a hint of unease and confusion, "And why should we go to such lengths for a Malfoy boy? He's just a Hogwarts student."

Wenda Rozier, whose family is also one of the Twenty-Eight Sacred Clans.

She was also Grindelwald's most loyal second-in-command.

She never expected that Grindelwald, who had been disheartened, would actually come back for the sake of a little wizard.

Grindelwald slowly turned around, his heterochromatic eyes staring directly at Wenda.

His gaze was like a sharp knife, as if it could cut through her soul.

"Vendor," his voice was soft yet imposing, "the future will tell you the answer. This boy... he is more than just the heir to the Malfoy family."

Vinda Rozier paused slightly, then lowered his head and said respectfully, "Yes, Master."

Soon, the twelve apostles used Apparition to parachute into the Eyjafjallajökull crater in Iceland.

This is the known location of the last phoenix rebirth.

The crater was filled with a faint smell of sulfur, a pungent odor that made one want to frown.

The surrounding ground was covered with black rocks.

The apostles sprang into action, taking out dragon blood and moonstone powder from their cloth bags and beginning to draw a tracking array.

The stench of dragon's blood mingled with the smell of sulfur, permeating the air.

During the drawing process, an apostle whispered incantations, gently waving his wand to guide the flow of dragon blood and moonstone powder.

Soon, a huge circular tracking array appeared on the ground of the crater, its patterns intricate and emitting a faint light.

"Vivian," Grindelwald's phantom materialized in the sulfurous smoke, "maintain the magic circle with the ancient runes you've deciphered."

Vivian's wand tip lit up, and silver runes suddenly appeared on the crater. "Master, this requires a wizard's..."

"Use his." Grindelwald pointed to the trembling wizard on the ground, the fool he'd encountered in Knockturn Alley. "Malfoy's Christmas present is worth any price."

Grindelwald's voice was cold and ruthless, as if he were announcing a trivial decision.

Immediately after that sound, the wizard who had been looking around in terror was no longer breathing.

As the magic circle continued to operate, when the full moon reached its highest point, the tracking array suddenly burst out with a blinding blue light.

The light shot straight into the sky, illuminating the entire crater as bright as day.

Vivian shouted excitedly, "Northeast, three miles away!"

Everyone's gaze quickly turned to the northeast, where a huge phoenix appeared in the sky.

Its feathers also exhibit a rare silver-blue hue.

As the hunters quietly surrounded it, the phoenix suddenly raised its head, sensed the danger, and let out a cry.

Several binding spells were instantly unleashed, but they were all deflected by the flames surrounding the phoenix.

He saw that his subordinates were not very efficient.

Grindelwald's face showed a hint of resentment.

"You've all gotten old."

He then stepped forward, holding a brand new wand.

"I'll do it myself."

His voice was deep yet full of confidence, as if nothing in the world could stop him.

He raised his wand, pointed it at the phoenix, and chanted incantations.

A beam of black light shot out from the wand, heading straight for the phoenix...

Kane stood before the gilded gates of Malfoy Manor, the morning light making his blond hair even more dazzling.

He turned to look at his family behind him—Lucius holding a serpent-headed staff, Narcissa wearing a silver fox fur shawl, and Draco nervously fiddling with his newly bought dragon-skin gloves.

Dobby, the house-elf, is loading the last suitcase onto the Thestral carriage; the jewels embedded in the suitcase glitter in the sunlight.

"Are we really going to do this?" Lucius asked in a low voice, a hint of doubt in his tone.

"For the last of the Black family bloodline, and for the future glory of the Malfoy family," Kane replied calmly, "it is necessary."

Then they boarded the Thestrals.

It was pulled by twelve purebred Thestrals, and the carriage was covered with carpets woven from unicorn hair, with silver wire mesh inlaid on the windows to protect against Dementors.

Two Aurors, specially appointed by the Ministry of Magic, escorted them on flying broomsticks; their robes were embroidered with the Malfoy family crest.

Both of them were wizards trained by Lucius, who personally placed them in Auror positions!

The carriage had now reached the skies above the North Sea, and Kane used his wand to draw a star map on the carriage window to divine his fortune.

Narcissa sipped the hot cocoa prepared by the house-elf with elegance, but felt a little nervous about what she was going to do in a little while.

Lucius, on the other hand, kept his eyes closed and rested throughout, rhythmically tapping his serpent-headed staff on the carriage floor as if calculating the gains and losses of this trip.

Draco, on the other hand, was writing a letter, and judging from his happy expression, he had definitely fallen into the trap of love.

On a desolate reef in the vast sea, a black tower pierces the sky.

Azkaban's Dementors circled around like vultures.

The seawater crashed against the rocks, making an unsettling roar.

Two young guards stood on the dock, their heavy black robes fluttering in the sea breeze.

They gripped their wands tightly in their hands, their eyes occasionally glancing at the black dots that were gradually appearing in the distance.

"Who on earth is it that the warden would personally greet?"

One of the guards lowered his voice, his tone revealing barely concealed curiosity and unease.

His fingers unconsciously traced the patterns on the wand, as if it could bring him a sense of security.

They felt that staying in this place, even for a week, would cause them health problems.

"I don't know," another guard shook his head, his gaze still fixed on the black dot in the distance.

"Even when Fudge came last time, the warden just waited in his office. It's quite unusual that he came to the dock to greet him personally this time."

The dark dot in the distance gradually became clearer; it was a Thestral carriage.

The carriage also bears the Malfoy family crest—a coiled silver serpent with emerald eyes, seemingly coldly gazing ahead.

"That's... the Malfoy family's carriage?" The first guard's eyes widened, his voice filled with disbelief.

"Not only that," the second guard swallowed hard, his voice trembling slightly, "Look at that person...it's Lucius Malfoy!"
