Hogwarts' Golden Glory
Chapter 306 I'll Deal with Him
Everyone knew what he was implying.
Everyone was staring at the people around them.
Especially the teachers at Hogwarts—everyone knows that Voldemort is still alive!
Karkaroff used to be a Death Eater!
He was pursued by Moody for six months and imprisoned in Azkaban, facing a life sentence. He escaped trial by revealing information about other Death Eaters.
He was the only one present who truly intended to harm Harry.
The air in the room was even colder.
Karkarov's expression changed several times.
He wanted to argue, but when he opened his mouth, nothing came out.
"So," Kane continued, his eyes fixed on the crowd.
"After this competition is over, I will find that person. And then—"
He paused for a moment, a slight smile playing on his lips, but it was devoid of warmth. "I'll deal with him myself."
The last few words were spoken very softly, but each word seemed to be driven into the air like a nail.
Karkaroff finally found his voice: "You—you, a thirteen-year-old child, are trying to take down a dark wizard who can interfere with the Goblet of Fire? Malfoy, you're way too much—"
"Karkaroff." Kane's voice wasn't loud, but Karkaroff suddenly shut his mouth.
It wasn't because he wanted to shut up. It was because his body wouldn't obey him.
An invisible pressure emanated from Kane, like an unseen hand pressing down on everyone in the room.
It is not an attack spell.
It's more like magical suppression!
Kane Malfoy stood there, still the same thirteen-year-old boy, with light blond hair, grey eyes, and a phoenix perched on his shoulder.
But the magical energy emanating from him sent a chill down the spines of all the adult wizards present.
That's not the level of magic a thirteen-year-old should have.
Everyone's expression changed drastically!
Karkaroff's face even turned a deep liver color.
He wanted to speak, but his throat felt blocked. He wanted to move, but his legs felt like lead.
Kane only released it for less than two seconds.
Then, everything returned to normal.
The pressure disappeared, as if it had never existed.
The teachers at Hogwarts were alright, because they had all witnessed Kane's learning and naturally knew how powerful he was.
Karkaroff and Mrs. Maxim, however, were different; they had never seen such a powerful student before.
Fleur and Krum were also witnessing Kane's power for the first time, and a sense of powerlessness arose in their hearts.
They remembered the rumor.
Another Voldemort is about to emerge from Hogwarts, and this newcomer is even more outstanding than Voldemort at the same time.
When the pressure was over, Karkarov gasped for breath, as if he had just been pulled out of the water.
"You—" his voice was hoarse, "you..."
"Mr. Malfoy," Dumbledore's voice finally rang out.
All eyes turned to the principal.
Dumbledore stood still, his blue eyes calmly watching Kane.
His expression showed neither anger nor surprise, only a complex mix of understanding, concern, and tacit approval.
He did not blame Kane.
Karkaroff waited for Dumbledore to reprimand this "arrogant brat," but Dumbledore said nothing.
He glanced at Kane for a few seconds, then nodded slightly.
That nod means: I understand.
Karkaroff's face turned from liver-colored to ashen.
He wanted to lash out, but he wasn't stupid.
He had heard the rumors circulating in the wizarding world over the past few months.
Hogwarts produced the eldest son of the Malfoy family, who helped Sirius Black clear his name in his first year and solved the locked room mystery in his second year.
Some say he's "the next Dumbledore," others say he's "the next Voldemort"—but everyone agrees: this kid is abnormal.
It was so abnormal that even Dumbledore chose to remain silent.
It was so unusual that the entire British magical community was watching and waiting.
The waters in Britain recently have been so deep that people could drown.
Voldemort's shadow still lingers, the Ministry of Magic has a new minister, pure-blood families are taking sides, and werewolves, giants, and vampires are all stirring in the shadows.
At times like these, nobody wants to cause trouble on someone else's turf.
Mrs. Maxim had clearly thought of this as well.
She took a deep breath, turned to Dumbledore, and her voice regained its deep, calm tone: "Dumbledore, I have only one request—make sure the game is fair. No matter who the warriors are, no matter how old they are, the game itself must be fair."
"Of course," said Dumbledore.
Karkaroff opened his mouth as if to say something, but Krum suddenly spoke up.
"Headmaster," Krum said in broken English, "that's enough."
Karkarov suddenly turned to look at his student.
Krum turned around, his deep gray eyes appearing unusually profound in the candlelight. His expression remained cold and hard, but there was an undeniable firmness in his gaze as he looked at Karkaroff.
"I'm competing," Krum said. "They're competing too. That's enough."
Karkarov stared at his student for a few seconds, and then—he gave in.
It wasn't out of respect, but because he saw something unsettling in Krum's eyes.
That wasn't the Krum he knew.
"Alright," Karkaroff said softly, taking a step back.
Mrs. Maxim also backed down.
The tense atmosphere in the room finally eased a bit.
Dumbledore patted Harry on the shoulder, then turned to everyone: "That's all for tonight. Warriors, go back and rest. You'll be informed of the specific schedule for the competition starting tomorrow."
Cedric was the first to leave the room. As he passed Kane, he paused and muttered, "That one—was impressive."
Kane nodded slightly.
Hibiscus walked up to Kane, looking at him with her pale blue eyes.
She didn't say anything, but simply reached out and straightened the collar of his robe.
Let's cheer each other on.
Then she turned and left with Mrs. Maxim.
Krum was the last to leave.
He paused at the door and glanced at Kane.
Only the Hogwarts people remained in the room.
Dumbledore walked up to Kane and looked down at the thirteen-year-old boy.
There was no blame in his blue eyes, only a deep, complex emotion.
"Do you know what the consequences of doing that are?" Dumbledore asked.
"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing."
Kane returned a bright smile.
Dumbledore looked at him for a long time, then sighed.
The students are growing up and have their own ideas.
"Go and rest," Dumbledore said. "The matches ahead will be very demanding."
"You should go and get some rest too, Harry."
Harry looked at everyone and suddenly felt like he was the least noticeable one.
It seems that Kane has solved everything.
He also learned that his participation in the competition was arranged by someone, and that someone wanted to kill him for Voldemort!
He needed to tell Sirius about this as soon as possible.
