Hogwarts' Golden Glory
Chapter 2 A Trip to Diagon Alley
"I just don't understand! There's absolutely no need to pay any salary! My brother always makes these inexplicable and incredibly stupid decisions!"
After Kane left, Draco looked at Dobby, who was being respectful and even somewhat obsequious, and cursed him with a face full of disdain.
"Dobby will never... will never allow anyone to slander Master Kane!" In an instant, Dobby was like a powder keg that had been lit. His usual timid and submissive demeanor vanished, and he exuded an aura of angry magic.
Draco's body floated up uncontrollably, his feet leaving the ground, his face filled with terror and panic.
"Dobby! I'm going to tell my dad!" Draco screamed in terror. In his panic, he instinctively invoked his father as his "savior," trying to intimidate Dobby.
Upon hearing this, Dobby felt as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over his head, instantly sobering him up and prompting him to quickly rein in his outward-emitting magic.
Draco's body fell back onto the bed with a thud, and he gasped for breath, still shaken.
Dobby immediately apologized, his face full of remorse: "I'm sorry, Master Draco! But I simply cannot tolerate anyone speaking disrespectfully to Master Kane. Master Kane is an incredibly great wizard, and in Dobby's heart, he is the most respectable person!"
At this moment, Draco was still muttering something, but his voice was so soft it was like a mosquito's hum, and his face was full of lingering fear.
He secretly vowed in his heart that this seemingly insignificant house-elf was hundreds of times more terrifying than those simple-minded, physically strong trolls when it got angry!
Although Draco held Dobby, the house-elf in front of him, in utter contempt and disdain, he had to admit that Dobby's efficiency was truly astonishing.
Before long, Draco was all dressed and presentable at the dining table on the first floor.
"Why are you taking so long to get up? The whole family is waiting for you to have breakfast!"
Lucius, the patriarch who also had light blond hair, couldn't help but reprimand Draco for arriving late, his tone carrying a hint of displeasure and authority.
"Alright, Lucius, we still need to buy the kids their school supplies later."
Narcissa gently tried to smooth things over for Draco. Lucius, who always respected his wife, remained silent upon hearing this, but secretly pondered why his second son was so different from his eldest in these aspects.
Draco sat there, still shaken, his face growing paler, barely daring to breathe.
Afterwards, the family ate breakfast in silence.
After breakfast, Dobby snapped his fingers crisply, and in an instant, they arrived at the north side of Diagon Alley.
"Darlings, let's go pick out some books for you to use when you start school. You two go to Madam Malkin's robe shop to buy your uniforms. Taking measurements for the robes takes quite a while, so you two go ahead and don't delay us."
As soon as they arrived, Narcissa led Draco and Kane to the entrance of Madam Malkin's robe shop, giving the two children caring and detailed instructions.
To be honest, the family rarely patronized Madam Malkin's robe shop; they usually shopped at Tuofan Clothing Store.
If it weren't for the fact that only Madam Malkin's Robes Shop sells Hogwarts uniforms, and that the tailoring process requires personal attention, they wouldn't have needed to go through all this trouble. Dobby could usually handle all the other shopping perfectly well.
After Narcissa repeatedly reminded them, the two entered the shop.
The store is exquisitely decorated, with shelves displaying a wide variety of robes and other clothing.
A parchment sign that read "50% off or more for seasonal sales" was prominently displayed in the store, announcing the current promotional activities.
Just as the two were looking around at the clothes in the shop, a short, plump witch dressed in purple came out in a hurry.
"Are you here to buy Hogwarts school uniforms, darling?" she asked before the two could even respond.
"Yes, beautiful lady, we are new students at Hogwarts."
Kane smiled, spoke softly and gently, and with his sharply defined, handsome face, the scene instantly brightened Mrs. Malkin's mood.
"Oh, you little rascal, you're really good with words, your mouth is as sweet as honey. If you keep this up, you'll definitely have plenty of girls at school vying to give you love letters," Mrs. Malkin teased with a laugh.
Draco stood beside Kane, listening to Madam Malkin's words, and couldn't help but agree with her. He thought to himself that Kane's appearance was indeed easy to win over girls, but he himself was no less charming!
"Come, children, let me take your measurements," said Madam Malkin, leading the two blond children to the hall behind the shop.
There were several footstools there, clearly intended for the short wizards so that they could more easily have their clothes tailored to their size.
Although Kane regularly trains his body, there is no significant difference in height between him and Draco; he is simply more muscular and robust than Draco.
At first, Draco mocked Kane quite a bit because the effects of the training weren't very noticeable in terms of height. However, under Kane's "special education methods," Draco could only shut up and dared not cause any more trouble.
"Draco, you go ahead, I'll take the measurement later," Kane said, speaking out of his habit of humility cultivated since childhood. Although he was a true Englishman at the moment, he still upheld the traditional virtues of the Chinese nation deep in his heart.
Of course, he silently swore to himself that his actions were purely out of courtesy, and not because he had any objection to or dislike of taking measurements that he let Draco go first.
Draco didn't say much when he heard Kane's instructions, as he was already used to this situation.
At home, it was the same. Whenever Kane had something he didn't want to do, he would be ordered to do it first. If he didn't comply, what awaited him was a special "gift" from Kane's so-called "education of love".
Draco did as he was told and stepped onto a footstool. Madam Malkin handed him a robe.
Draco frowned slightly, a hint of disdain on his face, as he looked at the robe that had probably been tried on by many people.
But when he caught sight of Kane, who was slightly shorter than him but had a serious expression, standing to the side, he reluctantly put on the robe.
"Open your arms wider, child, relax, don't be so tense," Madam Malkin said, carefully pinning a safety pin to Draco's height before stepping aside.
Draco stiffly raised his arms, his posture appearing somewhat awkward and unnatural.
Immediately afterwards, Madam Malkin waved her wand, and a measuring tape seemed to come alive, attaching itself to Draco's arm and then winding down his arm to measure data from other parts of his body.
Meanwhile, a quill pen hovered in the air, writing furiously on the parchment to record the measurement results.
"Hello? Is anyone home?"
