Hogwarts' Golden Glory

Chapter 170 The Partner's Backstab

The Wizarding Weekly is a magazine that is very popular among witches.

It includes articles, quizzes, consultation sections, recipes, and other content.

It will also report on a lot of celebrity news, such as Harry Potter and Quidditch stars.

Molly Weasley and Hermione Granger are both readers of The Wizarding Weekly.

He also awards the Most Charming Smile Award, and Gilderoy Lockhart is a frequent recipient of this award.

"They say you and Draco are actually a secret couple, and Quirrell wanted to break you up, but you unleashed the magic of love and blew him into fireworks."

"Pfft—!" Harry spat out the pumpkin juice he had just drunk.

Ron slapped the bed railing excitedly: "And that's not all! Fred and George put on three whole 'epic reenactments' in the Great Hall—saying you rode a troll into the Chamber of Secrets and knocked Quirrell unconscious with Hermione's Divination textbook!"

"Wait a minute," Harry suddenly realized his mistake, "why isn't anyone mentioning Kane? He's clearly..."

Ron and Hermione suddenly exchanged a strange look.

"Uh...about this..."

Ron scratched his nose. "The initial rumor from Ravenclaw was... Kane is actually yours..."

Hermione quickly covered Ron's mouth and shoved a chocolate frog into his mouth: "Eat your snack!"

Suddenly, Mrs. Pomfrey's scolding voice came from outside the window, and the students who had been eavesdropping scattered like birds.

But Harry clearly heard the last few words drifting in.

"...So Harry Potter and the Malfoy brothers were actually in a love triangle..."

"...They used love potions to control the entire Ministry of Magic..."

"Actually, he has three arms..."

When Mrs. Pomfrey angrily drew the curtains.

Harry silently covered his face with his pillow, hoping he could immediately use a spell to teleport to Mars.

Kane was also somewhat bewildered at this point.

He's not at school these days.

Because Draco was cursed, although the curse has been lifted.

However, Mr. Lucius, a member of the school board, found out about this.

He was very worried and sent Draco and Kane to St. Mungo's Potion and Injury Hospital for a checkup.

Draco hasn't returned yet; he's currently receiving treatment in the hospital.

Kane's right hand was bandaged because it was put on during the examination.

When I got back, I heard this rumor.

"You guys chat first, I need to take care of something."

Kane returned to the Great Hall intending to find the Weasley twins and find out where the rumor had originated.

As soon as he arrived at the auditorium, an absurd drama was unfolding there.

Fred and George Weasley stood on the faculty bench.

One person, wearing a purple headscarf, played Quirrell.

Another person, sporting messy black hair and impersonating Harry, was performing in an exaggerated tone: "Oh, Draco, my darling! Let me save you with the magic of love—"

"And then I did this!" the fake Harry suddenly pulled out a handful of garlic and threw it at the fake Quirrell, "and hugged the Platinum Prince with my third arm!"

The auditorium erupted in deafening laughter and whistles.

Kane stood in the shadows of the gate, his eyes freezing cold.

"Cough cough."

A cough so soft it was almost inaudible instantly silenced the entire auditorium.

Everyone froze in place as if petrified—Fred's hand was still gripping George's wig, and George had half a clove of garlic stuffed in his mouth.

"It seems," Kane's voice was like an ice scalpel scraping against glass, "that I've missed quite a bit of... entertainment."

Kane's wand spun in a dangerous arc.

Eyes were fixed on the Weasley twins.

Fred's half-chopped garlic clove fell to the ground with a "thud," and George's wig suddenly and spontaneously retracted into his pocket.

"Interesting." Kane's voice was as soft as a viper's flick. "I was gone for a few days, and my 'partner' became the main force behind spreading rumors?"

Fred and George exchanged a glance.

Suddenly, they all knelt down on one knee at the same time, their movements so synchronized as if they had rehearsed a hundred times.

"Your Excellency Malfoy!" Fred exclaimed, giving an exaggerated medieval knightly salute. "This is entirely a misunderstanding—"

"—We're testing how fast rumors spread!" George quickly replied, pulling a roll of parchment from his pocket.

"Look, this is the statistics table! Ravenclaw has the highest dissemination efficiency, and Hufflepuff is the most adept at exaggerating..."

Kane tapped his wand lightly.

The parchment burst into flames in the air, transforming into a fire phoenix that swooped down on the twins' bottoms.

"Whoa!" The two jumped up and swatted at the sparks.

The word "traitor" was burned onto the back of Fred's robe.

Kane slowly pulled a familiar candy box, gleaming with a dangerous pink light, from his robe pocket.

The twins' eyes immediately widened to be as round as Galleons.

"Wait! That's not ours—" Fred's voice suddenly rose eight octaves.

"—An experimental version of 'Singing and Dancing Toffee'?!"

George's face turned greener than the Slytherin house flag.

Kane gently fiddled with the lid of the box with his fingers.

A chilling smile curled at the corner of his lips, sending shivers down the spines of all the Hogwarts students: "According to what you gave me last time, whoever eats this will..."

"Singing and dancing at the same time!"

Fred lunged forward to grab it, but Kane nimbly turned and dodged.

George suddenly covered his face with his Transfiguration paper: "That was just an accident! What we originally wanted to develop was—"

"Candy that lets customers tell the truth."

Kane responded precisely, and effortlessly produced a second box from behind George's ear.

"What a coincidence, I still have an 'honesty quill pen' here. Would you like me to write out the instructions now?"

Gasps filled the auditorium.

Cho Chang of Ravenclaw suddenly raised his hand: "Excuse me... is it okay to play Quidditch while singing and dancing?"

"Of course!" Kane flashed the Malfoy family's signature fake smile.

"One afternoon, two redheads were singing, dancing, and hitting the ball at each other on the Quidditch pitch!"

The twins seemed completely petrified at that moment, and Fred's ear tips were so red they looked like they were about to bleed.

"Now." Kane tossed two boxes of prank products into the air.

She gracefully caught it with her wand. "Choose—will you continue to be a rumor-monger, or..."

"We choose B!" George shoved a hand over Fred's mouth. "From today onwards, you are the honorary chairman of the Prankster League!"

Fred broke free and added, "We'll give all the rumor-mongers a 'Weasley Special Package'!"

He pulled out a suspicious-looking firework tube, "Like this newly developed 'Myth Buster'—it'll make a liar's hair explode..."

"After the explosion, bubbles will keep coming out," George added quietly.

Kane finally put away the two boxes of dangerous goods: "Remember, if I hear any more rumors about a 'love triangle' tomorrow..."

"You'll see the two of us wearing ballet tutus and singing the school song in the auditorium!" the twins vowed in unison.
