Hogwarts' Golden Glory

Chapter 116 The Truth of the Past

Just as everyone was about to leave, a commotion suddenly arose from the direction of the castle.

Dumbledore's long, silvery beard gleamed in the sunlight, and Snape stood beside him with a somber expression.

Kane Malfoy, on the other hand, walked at the very front, carrying a cage that shimmered with silver light.

To Fudge's surprise, there was another professor standing next to Dumbledore.

This professor seems to have a very unusual relationship with Dumbledore.

"Ah, Cornelius," Dumbledore's voice was gentle but firm, "since everyone is here, there's something that requires the Ministry of Magic's assistance."

Fudge's smile froze on his face: "Albus, this is...?"

Kane stepped forward and placed the cage on the stone platform in the center of the open space.

With a light tap of his wand, the cage door opened, and a mouse with a missing toe was pulled out by an invisible force.

Upon seeing the mouse, Ron couldn't sit still any longer!

Are those spots?

Banban has been missing for a long time!

I never expected to be arrested by Kane!

Upon seeing Banban, he immediately rushed over!

"Kane, give my Scabbers back."

But his shouts went unanswered by Kane.

"Show yourself quickly!"

In a flash of silver light, a short, bald man rolled on the ground in agony.

His skin still bore traces of rat hair, and he was missing a finger on his right hand; it was Peter Pediru.

The scene instantly erupted in chaos.

Ron's face turned pale. He never expected that the man who had shared his bed for so many years, Banban, would be such an ugly and disgusting man.

"Peter Pettigrew?!"

Fudge staggered backward, his face deathly pale. "Didn't he—"

"Killed in the explosion?"

Snape sneered, his voice colder than the basilisk's gaze. "What a perfect lie, and even a foolish scapegoat!"

Harry felt a wave of nausea, after all, he had played with Ron's rat before.

Ron gripped his arm tightly, his face filled with disbelief: "That's...Spot? My mouse is...a man?!"

Dumbledore raised a hand, and the room immediately fell silent: "Cornelly, I think you need to hear this memory."

Dumbledore waved his Elder Wand, which transformed into a cloud of silver mist.

A scene from twelve years ago emerges from the mist—

Sirius slammed his fist on the table and stood up abruptly, his long black hair whipping in the candlelight: "No, James, we have to change!"

His eyes were bloodshot. "All the Death Eaters are watching me now. It's too dangerous."

Lily held the sleeping Harry in her arms, her red hair dancing like flames over her shoulders: "But Dumbledore said—"

"Exactly!"

Sirius interrupted, turning to James, "Listen, we need to play a trick. Make everyone think it's still me, but actually..."

His gaze shifted to the small figure huddled in the corner.

Peter Petirou looked up like a startled rabbit: "Me? But, but I..."

"Perfect!" James suddenly burst into laughter, his eyes gleaming behind his glasses. "Who would doubt Wormtail?"

Harry's eyes instantly welled up with tears after watching this clip.

Those were his deceased parents; his mother was still putting him to sleep at the time.

The second clip came out very quickly!

My memories were suddenly stained with blood.

Peter Pettigrew, his back hunched, slipped a note to the hooded figure: "Please...please spare my life..."

His right little finger twitched nervously. "The Dark Lord promised..."

The scene shifts to Halloween night. Lily feels uneasy!

She turned around in horror: "James! He found—"

Then a blinding green light engulfed everything.

Harry was filled with rage!

He could never have imagined that his parents were killed by their friends!

And their friend turned into a rat and lived in the Weasley family for over a decade!

Harry desperately wanted to rush up and avenge his parents.

Hermione grabbed Harry's arm, signaling him to calm down.

However, no one noticed that Snape, with a gloomy expression, looked at Harry with a hint of regret in his eyes.

Soon the last segment appeared.

Sirius Black is questioning the other person: "Why did you betray them?!"

Peter Pettigrew kneels in the street, pleading, his wand secretly pointing behind him;

Harry desperately wanted to rush in and warn them to be careful!

After a blinding green flash, he cut off his finger to fake his death, while only twelve Muggles were actually killed in the explosion...

Harry staggered backward, his scars burning like they'd been branded with a hot iron.

I felt extremely upset.

"No...this is impossible..."

Fudge's round face broke out in a cold sweat. "Sirius's trial was conducted by the Ministry of Magic itself—"

"To convict someone without trial," Kane added calmly, taking a roll of parchment from his robe.

"Under Section 13 of the Secret Hearings Ordinance, Wissengamo can reopen a case if compelling new evidence is presented. Last night at midnight, a unanimous vote was passed to acquit Sirius Black."

Fudge's face turned from white to green, and then from green to red.

He opened his mouth, but no sound came out.

I had only heard Lucius say that I could achieve a great political feat!

But now that it's here, how has it become the Ministry of Magic's oversight?

Wouldn't that make him, the Minister of Magic, a scapegoat?

Rita Skeeter's original shorthand quill snapped with a "snap".

Her eyes, adorned with exaggerated false eyelashes, were wide open, and her bright red lips were slightly parted.

"Oh, dear Minister Fookie!"

Her voice suddenly rose eight octaves, carrying a honey-sweet tone, "This is absolutely fantastic!"

The broken quill pen suddenly repaired itself and began to dance across the parchment at an astonishing speed:

A shocking miscarriage of justice! A judicial scandal concealed by the Ministry of Magic for twelve years!

"Think about it~"

She trembled with excitement, and three spare quill pens flew out of her crocodile-skin handbag. "The Secret Trial of Wizengamo – Former Minister's Grave Mistake – A Wrongfully Accused Hero!"

Fudge's face instantly turned paler than a Dementor's, and a hint of threat appeared in his tone!

"Ms. Skeeter! This matter needs to be reported with caution!"

Rita completely ignored the minister's protest.

She approached the trembling Peter like a vampire bat that had smelled blood.

The jeweled eyeglass chain jingled: "Dear Mr. Pediru, could you share your experience of disguising yourself as a mouse for the past twelve years?"

Her quill pen wrote automatically:

[Exclusive Insider Information] Traitor's Confession: How I Shared a Bed with the Weasley Family for Twelve Years

Ron's face instantly turned ashen: "You! You—"

"Oh, and our little savior too!"

Rita suddenly turned to Harry, a strange light flashing in her glasses. "How does it feel to finally know the truth about your parents' deaths? Sirius Black, now in prison, is your godfather!"
