Hogwarts' Golden Glory
Chapter 11 First Encounter with Hermione Granger
Finally, it was time for Hogwarts to start the school year. After dropping Kane and Draco off at King's Cross Station, the Malfoys hurriedly left due to an urgent business matter.
According to the secrets of the wizarding world, young wizards must take the train from Platform 9¾ at King's Cross Station in London to go to school.
At this time of year, train attendants always complain helplessly about why groups of children always come to ask about the location of the mysterious Platform 9¾.
The young wizards from Muggle families, upon their arrival, were completely bewildered, standing helplessly in the station.
"Hello, do you know where Platform 9¾ is?"
A clear, crisp voice rang out, carrying an innate confidence and stubbornness.
Kane looked up and saw a girl with bright brown eyes and thick, fluffy brown hair standing in front of him.
He instantly recognized her as Hermione Granger, one of the key figures who plays an important role in the Harry Potter magical legend.
Contrary to the description in the book of "plain-looking with unsightly front teeth", the Hermione in front of us looks more like the actress in the movie, with a delicate face and bright and expressive eyes. Her hair is slightly messy, but it does not detract from her unique charm.
Kane never expected to meet her here.
"You must be a new student going to Hogwarts!"
A mischievous idea suddenly popped into Kane's head, and he decided to play a trick on the girl.
"How did you know? Are you from Hogwarts too?"
Hermione was curious when she heard that the other party had seen through her identity, and she looked at Kane with a puzzled expression.
"That's right, I'm from Hogwarts, my name is Kane, I'm a year ahead of you, I'm a second-year student. This is my brother, Draco."
Kane said it with a straight face, without revealing the slightest flaw.
Upon hearing that the other person was an upperclassman, Hermione felt a surge of joy, believing she had found a reliable partner. "It's a pleasure to meet you!"
She said happily, "Can you tell me where station 9¾ is? I asked a lot of train conductors, and they all thought I was crazy, saying there are only stations 9 and 10 here."
"Kane, I bet her family are all Muggles."
Draco leaned close to Kane's ear and whispered something in his ear.
"Miss Hermione, as a wizard, you naturally cannot act like an ordinary person."
As Kane spoke, he glanced at the wall that concealed Platform 9¾, then turned his gaze to Draco. "Draco, show her."
Draco, though somewhat reluctant, pushed his luggage and rushed towards the seemingly ordinary wall, passing through it in the blink of an eye.
No! Before she could even speak, Hermione saw that the other person had actually passed through the wall!
Then, in shock, he looked at the boy named Kane in front of him. This was magic!
"Alright, miss, it's your turn!"
After Draco demonstrated for the other person, Kane let the other person try it as well.
Although she was a little scared, out of trust, Hermione gritted her teeth and pushed her luggage toward the wall!
Hermione rushed over as if she were seeing a new world. There were people everywhere, but Hermione could sense that they were different.
It's not that it's different from itself, but that it's different from the world behind the wall.
She could clearly sense that these people were the same kind of people as her!
"How is it? How do you feel?"
Kane's voice rang in Hermione's ears.
"That was so exciting! At first, I thought I was going to get a bloody head injury!"
Hermione said excitedly, her face beaming with excitement and joy.
"Hey Kane, I'm going to find Crabbe now!"
Draco greeted Kane as he approached, then eagerly went to find his underlings.
"Okay, I'll come find you again in a bit!"
Kane responded and then walked toward a carriage, with Hermione following closely behind him like a little tail, after all, she hadn't properly thanked this kind senior yet.
Kane found a quiet carriage and put his luggage away. Hermione, seeing this, also put her luggage aside.
"Aren't you going to find your classmate?"
Kane asked with some surprise, then realized that it was probably because he had previously claimed to be a second-year student, and Draco's actions in going to Crabbe, that Hermione was even more convinced that they were second-year students.
This "know-it-all" lady clearly hadn't realized that Kane, like her, was a newcomer to the city.
"Um, I prefer to stay in quiet places."
When Hermione heard Kane's question, she was secretly delighted. She was certain that she had guessed correctly. Kane must be like her, not having many friends at school, which was why he was alone in this quiet corner.
Kane was sitting by the window, watching the scenery rushing by outside, pondering how to break the spell on his wand, completely unaware that Hermione beside him had already imagined him as a lonely and melancholy boy.
"Kane, can you tell me about any interesting things or teachers at school?"
Hermione assumed that the other person, like herself, wanted to communicate more with her and learn more about the school.
"Something interesting? There's nothing particularly interesting about it."
"But there's one teacher I know of, Professor Snape, the Potions teacher. He's a very kind and approachable professor. If you have any questions in class, you can raise your hand to signal him, or you can raise your hand to answer questions. If you answer correctly, he'll be happy to give you extra points!"
"Professor Snape..."
Hermione whispered the other person's name, as if trying to remember it.
Kane looked at Hermione's serious expression and couldn't help but find it a little cute. At the same time, he silently prayed that she wouldn't be angry because of his words in the future.
"By the way, which house are you in? I've been asking around, and I'm hoping to be sorted into Gryffindor. Everyone says it's the best, and I heard that Dumbledore himself graduated from there!"
It's clear that Hermione understands Hogwarts better than Ron Weasley, who comes from a wizarding family.
At first, when Hermione first heard that wizards and colleges that trained young wizards existed in the world, she thought it was a prank.
It wasn't until Professor McGonagall appeared that she truly felt the existence of magic.
Her parents were very open-minded and supported her going to Hogwarts to study.
Because no one in her family knows magic, the competitive Hermione is worried about falling behind her classmates, so she has already studied her textbooks for the upcoming semester before the start of the new term.
"I am Slytherin!" Kane said calmly, a hint of cunning flashing in his eyes.
