Cloud Stack Cave.

The cave entrance was tightly closed.

Sun Wukong kicked the door open and strode inside.

Inside the cave, a monster with a pig's head and a human body was holding down a weeping woman, intending to commit a crime against her.

Upon seeing someone barge in, the pig demon flew into a rage:

"Where did this petty thief come from, daring to ruin my good time?!"

Sun Wukong scratched his head:

"A petty thief? I, Old Sun, am no petty thief."

The pig demon was taken aback:

"Old Sun? Who are you...?"

Sun Wukong grinned:

"The Great Sage Equal to Heaven, Sun Wukong!"

The pig demon's expression changed drastically!

Wasn't that monkey imprisoned under the Five Elements Mountain? How did it get out?!

He turned and ran.

next moment.

The golden cudgel slammed down on his head.

boom!

The pig demon was sent flying, crashing into the cave wall and creating a large crater.

He struggled to his feet, covered in blood.

"No...don't hit me..."

"I...I'm not a monster..."

Sun Wukong was taken aback:

"Not a monster? Then what are you?"

The pig demon knelt on the ground, trembling.

"I...I am Marshal Tianpeng..."

"He was banished to the mortal realm for harassing Chang'e..."

"That's why I ended up looking like this—I was born into the wrong pig family..."

Sun Wukong scratched his head:

"Marshal Tianpeng? Then why are you here snatching people?"

The pig demon cried out:

"I...I didn't want to either..."

"But after being reincarnated as a pig, its pig-like nature is hard to change..."

"He can't resist women..."

"I know it's wrong, but I can't help it..."

Sun Wukong frowned as he listened.

He turned and looked back at the woman.

The woman huddled in the corner, trembling with fear.

He looked at the pig demon again.

The pig demon was kneeling on the ground, tears streaming down his face, and it certainly didn't seem like he was faking it.

He scratched his head:

"So, what do you suggest we do about this?"

The pig demon raises its head:

"Great Sage, spare my life!"

"I...I'm willing to change!"

"From this day forward, I will never go down the mountain to harm people again!"

Sun Wukong thought for a moment:

"Simply correcting one's mistakes is not enough."

"You stole someone's girl and ruined her reputation."

"We need to give an explanation."

The pig demon was stunned:

"Then...then I'll marry her?"

Sun Wukong kicked it:

"Marry my ass!"

"You're a pig, marrying that girl? Do you think she'd even want to?"

The pig demon shrank its neck:

"Then... what does the Great Sage suggest we do?"

Sun Wukong scratched his head.

He couldn't figure out what to do either.

He simply grabbed the pig demon:

"Walk!"

"Come with me to see that monk!"

"Whatever he says, we'll do!"

Gao Laozhuang.

Xuanzang stood in front of that house, comforting the old man.

Suddenly, a golden light descended.

Sun Wukong grabbed a monster with a pig's head and a human body and landed it on the ground.

The crowd was so frightened that they scattered and fled.

The old man's eyes rolled back, and he almost fainted.

Xuanzang stepped forward:

"Old Sun, what's this?"

Sun Wukong threw the pig demon to the ground:

"This is the monster."

"What kind of Marshal Tianpeng was he? He was banished to the mortal realm for harassing Chang'e and was reincarnated as a pig instead."

"He said he was willing to change his ways, but I, Old Sun, am not sure. I'm bringing him back for you to deal with."

Xuanzang was about to speak, but suddenly stopped.

In the void, a stream of primordial energy quietly descended.

Silently.

But it went straight into his brow.

Xuanzang was startled.

Those compassionate and peaceful eyes suddenly burst forth with golden light!

Countless images flooded my mind like a tidal wave—

Lingshan.

Great Thunder Temple.

The Buddha sits serenely on a lotus throne, spewing lotus flowers from his mouth.

He knelt before the seat, clasped his hands together, and began to explain, word by word, the Mahayana Buddhist teachings he had come to understand.

Buddhism teaches that all beings are equal and that everyone can become a Buddha.

Buddhism teaches that one should save oneself through one's own nature, without seeking anything externally.

The Buddha's teachings say that the mind is Buddha, and Buddha is the mind.

He spoke with great passion and sincerity.

But they didn't see that Buddha's expression was growing increasingly grim.

at last.

The Buddha spoke:

"Jin Chanzi, do you know your crime?"

He was taken aback:

"What's the crime, disciple?"

The Buddha's gaze turned slightly cold:

"You spread heretical teachings and mislead people."

"From this day forward, you are banished to the cycle of reincarnation."

"Ten lifetimes of arduous cultivation are required before one can return."

He was stunned.

He wanted to explain himself.

He wanted to ask why.

But the Buddha's hand had already pressed down.

A beam of Buddhist light cast him into the cycle of reincarnation.

The image is shattered.

New images are coming—

First incarnation.

He was a woodcutter who was killed by a tiger while chopping wood in the mountains.

Before he died, he looked towards the west and murmured: Amitabha.

Second incarnation.

He was a scholar who was traveling to the capital to take the imperial examination, but he died of illness on the way.

On his deathbed, he wrote a line in blood on the wall of the dilapidated temple: "I wish to obtain the true scriptures and save all sentient beings."

The third generation.

He was a monk who had been ordained since childhood, but was killed by bandits when he was twenty years old.

Before he died, he said to the bandit: "Benefactor, turn back before it's too late."

The fourth generation.

The fifth generation.

The sixth generation.

......

Ten lifetimes of reincarnation.

Ten lifetimes of arduous cultivation.

He will suffer a terrible death for ten lifetimes.

But in each of his lifetimes, on the verge of death, he uttered the same wish—

To obtain the true scriptures.

To save all living beings.

The scene abruptly ended.

Xuanzang stood there, trembling all over.

The golden light in those eyes gradually faded.

Instead, there was a coldness unlike anything we'd ever experienced before.

A bone-chilling cold.

He finally understood.

Understand why you have been banished to the cycle of reincarnation.

It's not because the Buddhist teachings were misinterpreted.

It's because they said it correctly.

He preached Mahayana Buddhism, which teaches that all beings are equal and everyone can become a Buddha.

The Hinayana Buddhism transmitted by the Tathagata teaches that sentient beings need to rely on the Buddha for salvation, on the scriptures for salvation, and on the Sangha for salvation.

If everyone could become a Buddha, who would still come to worship Buddha?

If one can save oneself through one's own nature, who would need to seek scriptures?

If the mind itself is Buddha, what need is there for this Vulture Peak?

Therefore, he must die.

Reincarnation is necessary.

One must undergo arduous cultivation for ten lifetimes.

Then, they were used as pawns by Buddha and embarked on this journey to the West.

Go and obtain that so-called true scripture.

To promote that so-called Hinayana Buddhism.

Go and help Buddha consolidate his rule over Mount Ling.

Xuanzang raised his head.

Looking towards the west.

His gaze grew increasingly cold.

Sun Wukong squatted to the side, and seeing that he hadn't spoken for a long time, he scratched his head:

"A monk? What's wrong? Has he gone mad?"

Xuanzang did not answer.

He simply turned slowly and looked at the pig demon kneeling on the ground.

The pig demon felt a chill run down its spine from his gaze.

"Monk... Monk, why are you looking at me like that?"

Xuanzang spoke.

The voice was eerily calm.

"Old Sun."

Sun Wukong was taken aback:

"What?"

Xuanzang said:

"Kill him."

Sun Wukong's eyes widened:

"What? Killed him?"

He scratched his head:

"Monk, didn't you say you wouldn't kill?"

"You were just about to release them, why are you killing them so suddenly?"

Xuanzang did not explain.

He simply stared at the pig demon, his gaze as cold as frost:

"He is not Marshal Tianpeng."

"It wasn't an accident that he was reborn as a pig."

Sun Wukong was stunned.

The pig demon was also stunned.

A moment later, the pig demon's expression changed drastically:

"How...how did you know?!"

Xuanzang coldly said:

"Because I have seen you in the cycle of reincarnation."

"Through ten lifetimes, you are there in every one of them."

"Sometimes they are bandits, sometimes monsters, and sometimes just passersby."

"But in every lifetime, you're always watching me."

"Wait for me to die."

"Wait and eat my flesh."

The pig demon's face had completely changed.

The pig's face was filled with terror:

"You...you've regained your memories?!"

Xuanzang did not answer.

He simply stared at Sun Wukong:

"Old Sun, do it."

Sun Wukong scratched his head.

Although he didn't understand what had happened, he could tell from Xuanzang's eyes and tone that the monk was not joking.

He stood up and raised his golden cudgel:

"Fine, if you say kill, I'll kill."

The pig demon trembled all over:

"No...no!"

"You can't kill me!"

"Behind me is... is..."

He hadn't finished speaking.

The golden cudgel has already fallen.

boom!
