When Lu Yao returned home, it was already completely dark.

The apartment was quiet, with no lights on and no familiar aroma of food.

She turned on the light, changed her shoes, and her gaze unconsciously drifted towards the kitchen. Having gotten used to Fu Ciyan's presence, her sudden absence made the house feel much quieter. Getting used to something is truly a frightening thing.

She opened the refrigerator, took out the two pre-cooked dishes he had prepared before leaving, and heated them up. The aroma of the food did not diminish.

She carried the food into the living room, turned on the TV, and was about to eat and watch when the terminal vibrated.

It was a message from Fu Ciyan, but this time it wasn't text, but a short audio clip.

Lu Yao clicked on the message, and a deep, slightly tired voice came through: "Yao Yao, the signal here is unstable. The mission will take a few more days. Everything is fine. Eat well and don't worry."

Fu Ciyan would send her a message like this almost every day. She had to admit that this man was truly reliable and dependable in some ways.

She held the terminal, listening to the short, ten-second voice message several times before finally replying with a pursed lip: "Okay, you too. Be careful, I'll be waiting for you to come back."

After sending the message successfully, she stared at the screen for a while, but the other party did not reply, probably because the signal was really bad.

Lu Yao sighed, put the terminal aside, looked at the TV, but couldn't concentrate on watching it.

After quickly finishing her meal and turning off the TV, Lu Yao returned to her room to organize her thoughts and put what she had discussed with Xie Linyu that day into the script.

The selection of the female lead was finally decided on Monday. She is a young new actress who is considered to have formal training, but her works have been mediocre. She came here with a try-it-out attitude.

She may not be particularly striking in appearance, but thankfully her acting skills are not embarrassing.

Among a host of comparisons, it is still outstanding.

After the female lead was cast, the production team of "Temptation of a Wife" finally entered the intensive preparation stage.

The performance training was held at Xingwen Entertainment's Performing Arts Training Center for four days.

As a screenwriter, Lu Yao originally only needed to participate in script discussions occasionally, but now she has an additional task every day: training the female lead, Su Qian, with her mentor.

Although Su Qian's acting skills are good, she often has a misunderstanding of the character. What troubles Lu Yao the most is that Su Qian always unconsciously portrays Lu Qing as too "weak" and lacks that inner resilience.

"Su Qian, Lu Qing isn't 'begging' Ling Mo to accept treatment here." After another rehearsal, Lu Yao couldn't help but point out the problem. "Although she is gentle, she is not weak."

Su Qian bit her lip, a hint of resentment flashing in her doe-like eyes: "But Sister Lu Yao, I feel that Lu Qing has been through so much, shouldn't he be more sensitive and vulnerable? When facing a beastman like Ling Mo, perhaps showing some weakness would be more touching?"

Lu Yao rubbed her temples and patiently explained, "No, Lu Qing understands even more that showing weakness is useless precisely because she has experienced a lot. She is just doing what she wants to do, not craving a certain response from the other party. The subjectivity lies with me, not him, understand?"

Su Qian lowered her head, twisting the hem of her clothes with her fingers, and said softly, "I understand, I'll try again."

But when they rehearsed the same scene again, Su Qian's performance still carried that lingering "feeling of fragility".

After watching for a while, acting coach Chen Yu came over and patted Lu Yao on the shoulder: "Take a break first. Su Qian, come here, I'll explain the emotional logic here to you."

Lu Yao breathed a sigh of relief and went to the window for some fresh air.

The continuous communication over the past few days had left her somewhat exhausted.

Su Qian wasn't lazy; it's just that her understanding of the character differed fundamentally from her original creative intentions.

"Not going well?" A familiar voice sounded from behind.

Lu Yao turned around and saw Xie Linyu bringing Xiao Chen over. Xiao Chen was carrying some food. Sensing her gaze, he smiled and greeted her.

"Actor Xie?" Lu Yao was somewhat surprised. "Didn't you have a magazine shoot today?"

Xie Linyu casually draped his coat over the back of the chair and gestured for Xiao Chen to put the food he had brought on the table: "I finished early. I heard you guys were hitting a roadblock in your special training, so I came to check on you."

He walked over to Lu Yao and followed her gaze to Su Qian, who was listening attentively to Chen Yu's explanation in the distance: "What's the problem with Su Qian?"

Lu Yao sighed softly and briefly explained what had just happened: "She always misinterprets Lu Qing's gentleness as weakness and interprets his determination as pleading. I've tried many methods, but she seems to be stuck in her own understanding and can't get out."

After listening, Xie Linyu nodded thoughtfully.

"Have something to eat and give your brain a rest," Xie Linyu said, gesturing for Xiao Chen to distribute the desserts to the others present. "I have a plan, but I need your cooperation."

Lu Yao took the dessert from Xiao Chen and looked at Xie Linyu: "What's the plan?"

"Let her see what 'Lu Qing' should really be like." Xie Linyu lowered his voice. "After Teacher Chen finishes speaking, you and I will rehearse a scene together, the one where Su Qian got stuck earlier. No need to prepare in advance, just act it out as you understand it."

Lu Yao was taken aback: "But..."

"No buts." Xie Linyu interrupted her, his eyes quite certain. "You are the creator of Lu Qing. No one understands her better than you. Let Su Qian see what the real Lu Qing is like. That will be more effective than any theoretical explanation."

Lu Yao was somewhat tempted by his words, mainly because this matter had been delayed for far too long, and she was starting to lose patience.

"Okay." She nodded and finally agreed.

About twenty minutes later, Chen Yu finished his one-on-one tutoring session with Su Qian.

Su Qian seemed to have gained some insight, but her brows still showed confusion.

Xie Linyu clapped his hands to attract everyone's attention: "Teacher Chen, Su Qian, have you rested enough? Screenwriter Lu and I are thinking of rehearsing a scene to get a feel for it. Would you like to take a look and give us some feedback?"

Chen Yu's eyes lit up: "Great! Su Qian is also pondering this part; watching it should be very helpful."

Su Qian nodded quickly, moved a chair to sit down, and looked intently at the center of the field.

Xie Linyu and Lu Yao walked to the open space and stood facing each other.

Xie Linyu closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and when he opened them again, he was completely in Ling Mo's state, that wolf-beastman who was covered in wounds, wary of the world, yet still yearning for warmth in the depths of despair.

Looking at his transformation, Lu Yao sighed inwardly, realizing that not everyone has Xie Linyu's talent.

She also composed herself and recalled Lu Qing, the character she had created.

It wasn't the pitiful and delicate portrayal of Su Qian, but rather a gentle yet resilient, neither humble nor arrogant feeling.

She slightly adjusted her posture, her back straight but not overly stiff, her eyes calm and focused, as if the person in front of her was not an aggressive orc, but an ordinary patient.
