After he finished speaking, the large room fell silent.

An Ning hadn't quite grasped the meaning behind his words when she felt her face burning even hotter, as if the water she was holding had become scalding hot as well.

Just as she was about to put the water glass back, she suddenly noticed the clothes on her body and was startled. She grabbed the thin blanket and covered her chest, then looked sharply at Lu Xiyan.

"My clothes... my clothes..."

Seeing her nervous expression, Lu Xiyan laughed and said, "Your clothes are soaked; you have to change them."

An Ning knew, of course, that her clothes were soaked, and she also noticed that her ill-fitting white T-shirt smelled exactly like the man in front of her!

It's his clothes!

um...

An Ning's already large eyes suddenly widened.

Her confusion was written all over her face. Lu Xiyan chuckled, "You thought I switched it?"

The suite was slightly cool. Lu Xiyan tucked the blanket around her. "Bai Yi's girlfriend changed it for you. Our club is all men, and he's the only one with a girlfriend, so we had to trouble her to change it for you."

"However..." He looked at An Ning's flushed face, his eyes narrowing slightly, "If there's an opportunity after we get married, I can help out too."

His words were like a bombshell, leaving An Ning completely shocked.

She felt that the man in front of her seemed different from before.

It doesn't seem that...serious.

......

The next morning at nine o'clock, there was a knock on the bedroom door.

A clear female voice rang out at the door, "Anning? I'm Manny, Xiaobai's girlfriend. May I come in?"

Anning was wearing a large white T-shirt and was searching the room for her wet clothes that she had changed out of the night before. The hem of the shirt was just the right length to reach her thighs, making it inconvenient for her to bend over.

Hearing the voice outside the door, she politely replied, "Please come in."

The door opened, and the young girl entered the room with a smile.

The girl smiled knowingly when she saw the clothes Anning was wearing.

Anning noticed her gaze falling on her clothes and awkwardly tugged down the hem of her T-shirt.

"Anning, I'm here to bring you some clothes." Lu Manni smiled and handed over the shopping bag. "When I changed your clothes yesterday, I roughly figured out your size, and these clothes should fit you."

An Ning took the clothes and thanked him shyly, "Th-thank you."

She took out the clothes; it was a light blue dress.

"This dress must be expensive, right?" Anning asked hurriedly, "How much is it—"

"Don't mention money," Lu Manni interrupted her, laughing. "Lu Xiyan asked me to buy the clothes, and he paid for them too."

Upon hearing this, An Ning thought she should find another opportunity to ask him about it and return the money to him.

"You're so beautiful. No wonder Lu Xiyan, that iron tree that's been stuck with her for ages, has finally blossomed." Lu Manni looked at her pretty face and joked with her familiarly, asking curiously, "When did you two get together? How come I've never heard him mention it before? You've kept it a secret pretty well."

An Ning pursed her lips shyly and smiled faintly.

How could she explain that her relationship with Lu Xiyan wasn't that kind of relationship at all, but rather... a sudden, whirlwind marriage?

It seems even harder to explain now.

She could only smile.

Lumani assumed she was shy and didn't press the matter further, leaving the room with a smile.

Anning picked up her dress and was about to change when there was another knock on the door.

"Manny, come in."

An Ning responded softly, and suddenly saw a tall figure appear at the door.

Tall and with long legs, upright posture, wearing a white shirt and black pants, he was as radiant as the summer sun.

"Clothes changed—"

As soon as Lu Xiyan entered the room, his eyes suddenly fell on two slender, white legs exposed outside. His throat tightened, and his voice stopped abruptly.

He turned around hastily, coughed lightly twice, and a hint of unease flashed across his handsome face.

An Ning quickly realized what was happening, grabbing her dress to cover herself, her face flushing red. "You...you...why didn't you say anything before you came in?"

"I'm knocking." Lu Xiyan cleared his throat, a smile playing on his lips.

An Ning was speechless; he had indeed knocked on the door.

Her voice trailed off, "I thought it was Manny..."

Lu Xiyan suddenly remembered something, turned his head to look again, and quickly looked away.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw An Ning's flushed cheeks and coquettish expression. "You...you're still looking!"

"The color of this dress is not suitable."

Lu Xiyan entered the room with his back turned, opened a wardrobe with practiced ease, picked out a piece of clothing from the rack, and tossed it lightly behind him onto Anning's bedside.

"Wear this."

An Ning looked over and saw a white men's shirt.

She asked softly, "Yours?"

Lu Xiyan stood with his back straight, his voice tinged with laughter, "When we go to get our marriage certificate, we can't wear white, can we?"

An Ning was suddenly taken aback, and after a long while, she gently curved the corners of her mouth into a smile.

......

There are far more people at the divorce window of the Civil Affairs Bureau than at the marriage window.

Two white figures appeared at the wedding window; they were the only couple to get married that morning.

The staff greeted them with smiles, took photos, made them take an oath, handed over their documents, and stamped their identification.

The red stamp landed on the two red books, announcing An Ning and Lu Xiyan's legal marital relationship.

The entire process was very ceremonial, making Anning feel as if she were in a dream.

The staff handed them their marriage certificate, smiling and offering their blessings, "Wishing you a long and happy marriage."

Opening the marriage certificate, the man and woman in the red photo are smiling, not too close and not too far apart, seemingly quite sweet.

The document reads: An Ning, Lu Xiyan.

Anning then realized that she was married.

The man next to her seemed to be admiring the documents in his hand as well. She turned her gaze to him, her eyes falling on his smooth jawline and the smile on his lips.

My heart suddenly started beating very fast.

She really did get married, to Lu Xiyan.

"My name is Lu Xiyan."

The man suddenly looked at her, his voice magnetic and gentle.

"Huh?" An Ning was stunned for a moment. "I know."

"Let me reintroduce you." Lu Xiyan waved the marriage certificate in her hand. "Your husband, Lu Xiyan."

An Ning felt as if all the blood in her body rushed to her face, and her heart was pounding so hard it was deafening.

Looking into his gentle, ocean-like eyes, it felt as if I were about to drown in them.

"Then, let me reintroduce myself."

An Ning smiled, her voice trembling, "My name is An Ning, and I am your wife."
