That night, An Ning was unusually proactive. After a passionate night together, the striking marks on her snow-white skin served as a reminder of the madness Lu Xiyan and she had shared that night.

She was so exhausted that she could barely keep her eyes open until the sky outside the window began to lighten.

Lu Xiyan wrapped his long arm around her shoulders, pulling her into his embrace, and kissed her forehead, cheeks, and lips.

Just as I was about to close my eyes and rest, smelling her delicate fragrance, someone suddenly tickled my palm.

He kissed her with his eyes closed. "What's wrong?"

His voice was deep and languid.

Anning snuggled closer to him, "I'm out of energy."

Leaning against his chest, I heard his indulgent laughter. "It was my fault for not controlling myself. Take a nap, I won't bother you anymore. I'll take you out for something delicious when we get up."

"But I want to eat now." An Ning tilted her head back, her eyes bright. "I want to eat the chicken and shrimp congee from that old shop. Can you go buy it for me?"

"Now?" Lu Xiyan glanced out the window. The heavy rain was still falling, and the dark sky seemed to have cleared up a bit.

I glanced at the time; it was four in the morning.

"His store is open 24 hours, and you can buy it now." Anning blinked. "Is that okay?"

"Sure," Lu Xiyan answered readily. "My wife can have it anytime she wants."

He lightly pecked her fair, rosy cheeks, then sat up and started to dress.

"west Yan."

Lu Xiyan finished dressing and turned to look at Anning, who was wrapped in a thin blanket. "What's wrong, baby?"

An Ning smiled gently, her gaze lingering on his handsome face for two seconds. "It's nothing, I just wanted to call you."

Lu Xiyan leaned over the bed, a handsome smile curving his lips. "Wait for me to come back."

......

That old shop and Pangu Mansion are in two different directions.

Fortunately, it was still early, and the traffic had not yet reached its peak.

Lu Xiyan drove out of the garage, skillfully navigating the steering wheel, and appeared to be in a very good mood.

The round trip took about an hour. I returned from buying the porridge before 5 a.m.

Lu Xiyan carried two bowls of porridge, one with shredded chicken and shrimp, which Ningning liked, and the other with shredded chicken but without shrimp.

As I got on the elevator, a feeling of happiness welled up inside me.

It felt like a husband coming home from get off work in the early morning to bring breakfast to his wife who was fast asleep at home—a simple and content feeling.

Upon entering, the room was as quiet as ever, with a faint, pleasant fragrance.

He placed the two bowls of porridge on the dining table and tiptoed towards the bedroom.

"Wife?"

The dim morning light filtered through the white gauze curtains, enough to clearly see that the thin blanket on the bed was lifted, and no one was there.

He frowned slightly as he heard a sound coming from the dressing room next door.

"Ningning?"

He walked to the door and saw Anning, who had changed her clothes and was dressed neatly, standing in the dressing room packing her luggage.

She took her clothes out of the closet one by one, folded them neatly, and put them into her suitcase.

Her fingers slid across his T-shirt, bypassed it, and removed her own dress.

Lu Xiyan's heart skipped a beat, sensing something was wrong. He stepped forward and asked, "W-why are you collecting the clothes?"

Upon hearing his question, Anning turned to look at him.

"You're back so soon? I thought I could get you out of the way for a while."

Her tone was indifferent, as if she didn't care, a stark contrast to how she had blushed and begged him to do it again just moments before.

"What do you mean?" Lu Xiyan stepped forward and took her hand as she packed her clothes. "Why are you packing? Are you going on a business trip?"

"No business trip." An Ning withdrew her hand, her eyes cold. "Abroad."

Looking at his empty palm, Lu Xiyan frowned and asked her, "Going abroad? Why do you want to go abroad? How come I didn't know?"

"I'm tired of staying in Jinghai, I want to travel abroad." An Ning closed her suitcase, a faint smile on her face as she asked, "This is my decision, why should I let you know?"

Lu Xiyan's mind was buzzing. Noticing that her tone was off, he suddenly smiled and took her hand in a conciliatory manner. "What's wrong? Are you angry? Weren't you just fine a moment ago?"

"Did you feel hungry because I took too long to buy porridge?" Lu Xiyan smiled gently, his fingertips softly stroking her wrist. "I'm sorry, I'll be more careful with the time next time and try to come back earlier so you don't have to wait too long, okay?"

His palm was burning hot. An Ning gently pulled away. "I'm not angry. I just suddenly don't want to stay in Jinghai anymore. I want to go abroad and see the world."

Her tone was calm and even, but Lu Xiyan was extremely nervous.

Anning is not a willful person, and she has never said anything about going abroad.

His eyes were gentle, and his smile was indulgent. "If you want to go abroad, you can tell me. It's not like I won't let you go. I'll take you out for a trip once I've settled things at the club in the next couple of days."

"Don't you understand, Lu Xiyan?" An Ning looked up at him, her tone impatient. "It's not that I'm tired of Jinghai, it's that I'm tired of you. Because you're in Jinghai, that's why I want to leave Jinghai and go abroad. Do I have to spell it out for you to understand?"

Lu Xiyan's spine stiffened, and blood rushed back to his head.

After a long pause, he carefully took Anning's hand, forcing a smile, "Ningning, what are you saying?"

"You already understand, so why pretend?" An Ning chuckled, her beautiful eyes devoid of any affection for him. "I don't want to be with you anymore. Let's break up."

"Oh, no, that's not right." She smiled and corrected, "It's divorce."

Lu Xiyan's fingertips were utterly cold, and his eyes were filled with disbelief. "Divorce?"

Anning opened the drawer and took out a divorce agreement. Her voice was very soft. "I've already signed it. I knew you were difficult to deal with, so I was planning to find an excuse to send you away. I didn't expect you to come back so quickly, asking all sorts of questions and wasting time."

Lu Xiyan couldn't believe these cold words came from An Ning's mouth. He stared at the divorce agreement, his eyes red.

After a long silence, he finally spoke in a hoarse voice, "Why?"

"Because I got tired of it." Anning gripped the handle of her suitcase, making her point clear. "I thought this game could last a little longer, but I didn't expect to get tired of it after only two years. I can't keep up the act anymore."

"A game?" Lu Xiyan's eyes were bloodshot, and his voice trembled as he spoke. "Your relationship with me is just a game?"

"Yes," Anning admitted readily. "You're so outstanding—handsome, rich, and devoted to me. You completely satisfy a young girl's vanity. I admit I married you to escape the blind dates my family arranged for me, but later, when things turned into a real relationship, I just wanted to see what it was like for a rich guy like you to be in love, whether you could put aside your pride and be subservient. All I wanted was a moment of novelty."

"I suddenly realized today that the novelty has worn off." Anning looked at his reddened eyes, her tone extremely cold. "Even when we slept together, I didn't feel that same excitement as before."

"Lu Xiyan, I'm really fed up with you, I'm disgusted with you."
