Five years after my wife's death, she came back!

Chapter 99 Shang Chenyan, can't you learn to respect people?

On the way home, Shi Ying held Shang Nian in the back seat while Shang Chenyan drove. The car was unusually silent and quiet.

Ever since Shang Nian learned to speak, every time the three of them went out, she would try her best to talk about many things that happened in the hospital, even though her language skills were still lacking. Shi Ying was very supportive, and the car was always filled with laughter.

But at this moment, Xiao Shangnian seemed to have sensed something and obediently nestled in Shi Ying's arms.

Shi Ying looked at the street scene rushing past the window, her little face expressionless and she didn't say a word.

After asking that question at the mall, Shi Ying knew from Shang Chenyan's expression that he was faking it. She couldn't understand why he would install a location tracking device on her phone.

She's not a criminal, and she reports to him wherever she goes. This behavior makes her feel very disrespected.

Shi Ying didn't give him a chance to explain. She mainly didn't want to talk about it in a crowded shopping mall. If they accidentally started arguing, people would laugh at them.

And she didn't want to argue in front of the children.

Back at the villa, as soon as Shi Ying got out of the car, Shang Chenyan grabbed her wrist: "Yingying..."

"Stop." Shi Ying interrupted him. "Go to the study and wait for me. I'll take Niannian back to her room first."

As he watched the girl's slender wrist slip from his grasp, Shang Chenyan was momentarily stunned, a wave of immense fear washing over him.

Shi Ying carried Shang Nian back to the bedroom.

Shang Nian wrapped her arms around her neck: "Mommy, did you and Daddy have a fight?"

Shi Ying placed her on the bed, squatted down in front of her, and said, "We didn't quarrel."

They're not arguing now, but I reckon they will be later.

Shang Nian pouted, "Did Daddy make you unhappy? Mommy, are you leaving again?"

She rushed over and hugged Shi Ying's neck: "Mommy, if you're leaving, can you take me with you? I don't want to be separated from Mommy..."

Shi Ying stared at her in a daze, then reached out and touched her face: "Mommy won't leave. Didn't Mommy promise Niannian that she would stay with Niannian from now on?"

Although the installation of the location tracking device made her somewhat unhappy, she still wanted to give Shang Chenyan a chance to explain. If his reasons could convince her, Shi Ying wouldn't make a fuss.

Furthermore, they are not children anymore; they have feelings for each other. How can they just separate like that? That would be too frivolous.

Shang Nian said in a muffled voice, "Mom, can you please stop being angry with Dad? I'll draw him as a little pig to help you vent your anger."

Shi Ying was both amused and exasperated. She ruffled Shang Nian's hair and said, "Mommy isn't angry. Daddy just did some things that Mommy doesn't understand. Mommy will talk to him nicely. Nian Nian, how about you play in your room for a while? You've been walking all day, and you must be tired. How about Mommy comes to wake you up for dinner?"

"Um."

Shang Nian sat obediently on the bed, hugging her rabbit and reading. Shi Ying kissed her before closing the door and leaving.

She stood outside the door, feeling much calmer now because of Shang Nian's words.

Looking at the open door to the study, Shi Ying tilted her head back, took a deep breath, and prepared to go over.

But when she looked up, she suddenly saw several surveillance cameras with red dots on them in the corridor.

It was a cloudy day, and the lights in the corridor were off, so these little red dots were quite noticeable.

Shi Ying frowned. She remembered that there used to be only one surveillance camera at the stairwell in the corridor. Why were there so many more all of them?

Shi Ying subconsciously went back to her original room and master bedroom to take a look, and sure enough, except for the bathroom, all other places had been inexplicably equipped with surveillance cameras.

It was also disguised very discreetly, hidden in a corner where it wouldn't be easily discovered.

Shang Chenyan waited in the study for a long time but no one came. He returned to the master bedroom, opened the door and saw Shi Ying standing there, staring blankly at the ceiling.

"Yingying".

Hearing the noise, Shi Ying turned around, pointed at the surveillance camera above, and asked, "Did you install this?"

"And the security cameras in the hallway, did you install those too? When?"

Shang Chenyan's throat was dry, as if his shameful thoughts had been exposed. Faced with her questioning, he felt ashamed.

"I..." The man stepped forward and grasped her wrist. "I didn't mean to spy on you. I just miss you so much. If I can't see you for even a moment, I feel terrible and like I'm going to break down..."

Shang Chenyan hugged her, burying his face in her neck: "I'm afraid you'll suddenly disappear again, so I want to keep you in my sight at all times..."

Shi Ying opened her mouth, her voice somewhat hoarse: "I know that my sudden departure last time left you feeling uneasy, but didn't I promise you that I would never leave without saying goodbye again?"

Feeling a warm, damp sensation on his neck, Shi Ying raised her hand and patted his back: "Shang Chenyan, I understand your unease. When you're at the company, if you miss me, you can text me or make a video call, and I can come and keep you company. But by installing surveillance cameras everywhere, everything I do is exposed to your eyes, and I feel very disrespected."

"Even married couples need to give each other some private space, right?"

"You can install surveillance cameras in the living room and hallway, but the one in the bedroom has to be removed." Shi Ying took a step back. "And you can't install GPS trackers on my phone anymore. You're not allowed to monitor me all the time like this."

Shang Chenyan tightened his grip on her waist. He knew Shi Ying had given in, but the thought of not being able to keep track of her whereabouts at all times filled him with panic, making him tremble all over.

There are two little people fighting in my head.

The little white figure urged him to agree quickly, saying that Shi Ying had already tried his best to compromise and that agreeing would put the matter behind him.

The little black figure told him to follow his heart. What if he removed the surveillance and location tracking and suddenly couldn't find her again one day?

In Shi Ying's view, Shang Chenyan's silence was an indication of his lack of remorse.

She pushed him away: "You should calm down yourself."

Shi Ying turned to leave, but Shang Chenyan suddenly grabbed her arm: "Don't go, Yingying...don't go."

He held her tightly in his arms, turned her shoulders around, and lowered his head, eager to kiss her.

His heart was pounding wildly, as if something unexpected would happen if he let her out of his sight for even a moment.

Only by being so close to her could he soothe his panicked heart.

"Hmm!"

Shi Ying was still angry, and his actions only added fuel to the fire.

She struggled fiercely, crying out, "Shang Chenyan, let go!"

A tremendous force pushed her down onto the bed. Looking at the man pressing down on her, feeling his rough movements as he tore at her clothes, Shi Ying slapped his shoulder.

"I don't want to do it with you right now."

"Shang Chenyan, can't you learn to respect people?"
