Hongjun didn't bother with the word "Yuanshi"; as long as someone filled the spot, that was enough.

Finally, Hongjun's tone became unquestionable: "Then let's split the remaining spots equally between the Jie Sect and the Western Sect!"

Although the Jie Sect is not yet at the level of ten thousand immortals paying homage, it can easily produce one or two hundred disciples. Tongtian knew he could not refuse, so he accepted.

He was heartbroken, for he had tricked and deceived eighty percent of the Western Sect's disciples. He had finally managed to win their hearts towards the West, but now he had to give up so much of their knowledge. Nearly a thousand years of hard work had been for nothing.

After Hongjun dismissed the group from Zixiao Palace, Jieyin set off, while Hongyun and Tongtian went their separate ways. Hongyun went to the Heavenly Court to see Haotian Yaochi, while Tongtian took out the Four Swords of Zhuxian, preparing to catch up with Jieyin.

Neither Laozi nor Yuanshi stopped him; only Hongjun gave him a warning before he left: "The Immortal Slaughtering Formation must not be used, or countless lives will be lost!"

Outside the thirty-third heaven, Tongtian intercepted Jieyin, who was trying to escape.

"Since you dared to provoke me just now, you were prepared to fight me." Tongtian snorted coldly, wishing he could kill him on the spot.

As for Tongtian's actions, Laozi, Yuanshi, and Nuwa all watched coldly from the sidelines, making no reaction whatsoever. The fact that they didn't join in the attack on Jieyin was already a sign of their mercy.

We're here to check things out, just to make sure Tongtian doesn't really cause any trouble.

Jieyin didn't expect them to make any moves. Anyway, he had long understood that in this so-called Xuanmen, everyone else was on the same side, except for himself.

As for Tongtian wanting to perform a ritual with him, he was indeed somewhat panicked when he saw Tongtian's Four Swords of Zhuxian, but after the panic subsided, he remained calm and composed, because this was exactly the result he wanted.

He wouldn't have provoked Tongtian directly if it weren't to anger him. He had already suffered injustice; this big scene would be enough.

Recalling the decision he had just made, a resolute glint flashed in his eyes as he prepared to face the Heaven-Piercing Immortal-Slaying Sword. To endure a beating in exchange for a legitimate and honorable departure from the Xuanmen sect, and to secure the support of those disciples—it was a worthwhile trade.

The two started fighting, and Laozi immediately set up a barrier to prevent innocent people from being affected.

Inside the barrier, Jieyin was repeatedly injured. Just as Tongtian was preparing to deliver another ruthless blow, Jieyin suddenly shouted:

"Teacher, how can you be so biased towards them? You turn a blind eye to the humiliation your disciple suffers before your eyes?"

"Since that's the case, I will guide you to leave the Xuanmen!"

Tongtian was furious and struck out with his palm. Jieyin had no time to dodge and coughed up blood.

Hongjun's voice came: "Since you have betrayed your sect and are unwilling to be a disciple of the Xuanmen, then so be it. After the Investiture of the Gods is over, you will have no further connection with the Xuanmen."

In other words, betraying one's sect is acceptable, and the sect wouldn't mind keeping you anyway. But the West must hand over the number of people on the Investiture of the Gods list.

Jieyin completely broke down: "I refuse to accept this! I am no longer a disciple of the Xuanmen sect, why should I obey your orders?"

A gentle breeze swept by, soft and warm around the Three Pure Ones and Nuwa, but a fierce gale swept over the place where Jieyin was being guided. Jieyin let out a scream and was sent back to Mount Sumeru in the west by the gale.

After the one-sided fight ended, Hongjun finally spoke up and reprimanded, "The area outside the Thirty-Three Heavens is not a place for fooling around. You all must disperse immediately. Tongtianfa will confine you to Zixiao Palace for one year and you are not allowed to leave."
