Primordial Era: When a Good Guy Awakens a Morally Unethical System

Chapters 120 and 121: The Scramble for the Futon

Nuwa glanced at Hongyun and the futon in Hongyun's arms, and was immediately looked over by Tongtian, who had no choice but to agree with Fuxi's statement.

There are countless powerful beings in the primordial world, and they certainly cannot be considered top-tier among top experts. With both of them sitting on futons, it is indeed possible that they would be fought over, and neither could be kept. Hongyun has Tongtian's assistance, which they cannot compare to.

Another person hurriedly entered, immediately eyeing the empty futon next to Nuwa. His gaze swept over the people in front of him and Fuxi, who was standing peacefully behind Nuwa, before he quickly went over and sat down.

That person was none other than Kunpeng. He didn't look like a kind and gentle person at all. After sitting down, he kept glancing left and right, and even tried to talk to Nuwa. He only calmed down after being warned by Fuxi with a look.

The moment Kunpeng entered the hall, Yuanshi's aura instantly turned chilling, his disgust undisguised. Even though there was a vast expanse of heaven between Hongyun and Yuanshi, they both felt the chilling wind.

People continued to enter the hall one after another, including the Twelve Ancestral Witches, Emperor Jun and Taiyi, the Styx Ancestor, the Eastern King Duke, the Western Queen Mother, and most of the people whose names Hongyun could not recall, but Zhen Yuanzi was still nowhere to be seen.

They all saw the prayer mat in front of them, but Hongyun was holding the mat in her arms and had her back to them, so she didn't notice that there was still a space on the mat that had been occupied.

Then, Hongyun heard Hongjun's voice in her mind: "Opportunities cannot be forced; put down the futon in your hand!"

Hongyun glanced back, but still couldn't see Zhen Yuanzi. Only then did she reluctantly put the prayer mat back on the ground.

Then Zhen Yuanzi and two ragged, bald men entered one after the other. Hongyun was about to urge Zhen Yuanzi to hurry up when she found herself unable to speak or move, and could only sit obediently with her back to everyone.

Jieyin and Zhunti saw the prayer mat next to Hongyun even earlier. The two exchanged a glance and immediately began to wipe away tears in the open. Even though they were covering their eyes with their sleeves, they were able to walk to Hongyun's side with perfect accuracy.

Jieyin sat down directly on the futon, and Zhunti began to stare at Hongyun.

Zhunti: "We fellow disciples are pitiful. We traveled thousands of miles from the West to Zixiao Palace to listen to the Dao, but we don't even have a seat!"

The guide said, "Everyone says that Eastern cultivators are generous and magnanimous. My fellow disciple and I have come here with great difficulty, but to our surprise, not a single person is willing to give us a seat!"

"Junior brother." Jieyin's hand, which was holding Zhunti's, trembled uncontrollably, and he was too choked to speak.

Hongyun raised an eyebrow in confusion. Did these two think he was an idiot? Or had they forgotten how he got beaten up before? They actually thought crying in front of him would get them what they wanted. How ridiculous.

The two of them performed a series of songs, acting, recitations, and martial arts routines, which truly opened the eyes of all living beings in Zixiao Palace.

Unfortunately, no one spoke up, as they all clearly understood Jieyin and Zhunti's purpose. They felt utterly contemptuous of Jieyin and Zhunti; they all had a sense of shame, and even if they coveted the prayer mat in front of them, they would never do something like this—playing the victim in public—it was too disgraceful.

Zhen Yuanzi quickly walked behind Hongyun to prevent Jieyin and Zhunti from attacking Hongyun, since they had a grudge against each other before.

Hongyun couldn't speak, and had tried several times without success. Otherwise, she would have definitely given those two shameless people a good thrashing.

Jieyin Zhunti glanced coldly at Hongyun and continued, "Fellow Daoist Hongyun, we all know you are the kindest of us. Could you please have pity on us two brothers and spare us from the cold treatment we suffer in the Eastern Lands?"
