I Have the Martial Arts Heavenly Eye in the Storm Riders

Chapter 194 Wind Leg Breaks Through Water's Force, Zen Temple Trapped in a Murderous Trap

The night was dark and the mountain wind blew down from the top of the temple, bending the trees and making the temple lights seem to be choked, barely able to breathe.

A slender figure glided up the back of the mountain, leaving no trace of dust beneath his feet. His movements shifted between floating leaves on water and slippery moss. Though he was traversing an extremely treacherous rock ridge, he made it seem as if he were strolling leisurely.

Before long, the man had landed behind the Buddha.

He crouched down with practiced ease, groping around under the Buddha statue. Suddenly, his fingertips gripped a slightly cold stone button, and with a gentle press, a soft "click" was heard, and a narrow crack appeared behind the Buddha's seat.

Master Yiyou chuckled, shrank back inside, and muttered to himself as he went:

"Old Ghost, I brought you some good stuff today, a roast chicken that just came out of the oven in town, the oil is still bubbling away."

"If you don't come out soon, this chicken won't taste good anymore."

The dungeon was terribly cold and damp, with water seeping from the rock walls and dripping down through the cracks, as if someone were hiding in the shadows, counting lives drop by drop.

In the depths of darkness, a heavy iron chain slowly dragged, the sound low and muffled, like an old beast turning over in the belly of a mountain.

"Throw it over here."

The voice was terribly hoarse, like a rusty knife scraping against a stone.

Yiyou tossed the roast chicken over, not forgetting to remind him:

"Catch it carefully, don't let it fall to the ground and ruin it."

"You, with all your skills, choose not to use them and instead hide in this godforsaken place pretending to be dead. Even this humble monk finds it stifling."

A withered hand reached out from the darkness, its five fingers spread wide, and the roast chicken seemed to be pulled by an invisible thread, falling steadily into the palm.

A strange man with disheveled hair sat cross-legged on the ground, his limbs locked by thick black iron chains, the other end of which was deeply embedded in the stone wall. Yet, when he casually reached out to grab a chicken, he exuded a calmness that seemed to control life and death, as if what was locking him up was not iron, but himself.

Yiyou watched him wolf down his food and couldn't help but smack her lips.

"Who are you waiting for? Haven't you had enough after all these years?"

"If we wait any longer, you'll be dried into a piece of cured meat."

The strange man suddenly stopped eating the chicken and slowly raised his head.

Beneath his disheveled hair were two terrifyingly dark eyes, like two deep wells, their bottoms impossible to fathom.

"The person has arrived."

He was momentarily worried and stunned, then scoffed.

"You're doing this again."

"Last time you said the person arrived, but it was a fat lay Buddhist who delivered sesame oil; the time before that was even more outrageous, a petty thief who stole the donation box came."

"You old devil, you never say anything right."

The strange man ignored his banter, simply turning his head to the side as if listening to the wind.

"The wind on the mountain is strange tonight."

"His fate lies in the wind, his tribulations lie on the road."

Yiyou felt a chill run down her spine from his words, but she remained defiant.

Don't try to scare this poor monk.

"This humble monk is easily frightened and cannot withstand your eerie chanting."

The strange man took a bite of chicken, his voice even lower.

"Little monk, if you encounter that person, don't block his way, and don't do anything foolish."

"Your little bit of water is enough to save your life, but it won't save the destiny you desire."

Yiyou pursed her lips, about to say something sarcastic, when suddenly her heart skipped a beat for no reason.

He had dealt with this old man for many years and knew that he was more often crazy than serious, but when he spoke in this tone, there was a good chance that something was about to happen.

He forced himself to remain calm and scratched his bald head.

"Alright, alright, this humble monk is leaving."

"Eat slowly, and bury the chicken bones deeper."

"If those bald monks in the temple see this, I'll have to clean up your mess again."

After saying that, Yiyou crawled out along the secret passage. As soon as he flipped back onto the Buddha's back, a mountain wind suddenly blew into his face.

The wind carried a chill, but also an indescribable tension, as if a thread stretched from the mountainside all the way to the summit.

On the path leading down the mountain from the Buddha, two figures were climbing the steps.

Long'er carried the black sword on her back and walked slowly, but her eyes kept looking around.

The temple was so quiet tonight, so quiet that the sound of the wooden fish had disappeared, and the footsteps of the night patrolling monks had also ceased. It was as if the entire mountain had suddenly drawn its breath into its belly.

"Something's not right." Long'er stopped and looked up at the temple shadow at the end of the mountain path, shrouded in the night.

"Such a large temple, yet not a single cough was heard. It doesn't look like a Buddhist temple; it looks like a graveyard."

Jin stood beside him, the hem of her clothes fluttering in the night wind, but her gaze was as cold as a knife.

"Someone's coming down from the back mountain, acting suspiciously, and their lightness skill is quite fast."

No sooner had the words left his mouth than a dark shadow floated down from the edge of the cliff.

Using the mountain wind to dissipate the force, the man touched the stone wall twice with his toes, and his whole body, like a gliding shadow on water, silently swept over the two people's heads.

"stop."

Jin only uttered two words before disappearing.

The next instant, a muffled whoosh exploded, and the airflow in the spot suddenly collapsed.

Jin took a step forward, and his whole body seemed to be swept away by the night wind. When he reappeared, he was already behind the black shadow. His right leg swept out horizontally. Before the leg arrived, the gale arrived first, shattering the branches and leaves along the way and sending stone chips flying all over the mountain path.

"The wind sweeps away the remaining clouds!"

Yiyou was so frightened that her soul almost flew away. She let out a strange scream, and her body suddenly twisted. It was as if her waist, shoulders, and hips had lost their bones at the same time. She slid out through the gap between her legs.

The leg grazed past his monk's robe, not hitting him, but it blasted half of the mountain wall, causing cracks to appear and rubble to scatter everywhere.

"My goodness, that's really brutal!"

With a start, he spun around, his body veering left and right, slippery as an eel in a downpour.

"Benefactor, this humble monk is a vegetarian. It's not worth using me as a test subject!"

Jin's gaze remained unchanged; his second leg had already been reattached.

His leg shadows spread out in layers, completely blocked by the wind. Each step was faster and heavier than the last, as if he had mobilized the wind of the entire mountain, specifically to rip people apart.

"You run fast, but not fast enough."

He complained on the surface, but his heart was in turmoil.

His water-based maneuvers are always adept at using and deflecting force, yielding to the strong and neutralizing the powerful.

But the young man's leg technique was strangely powerful. The wind didn't just press down randomly, but rather drew in layer by layer, making his energy flow narrower and narrower, like a pool of living water being forced into a porcelain bottle.

Long'er stood below watching, a strange look flashing in her eyes.

The monk's movements were exquisite—slippery, soft, and ethereal, as if he were walking on invisible water veins. If it were someone else making a move, they would most likely have already slipped away.

But Jin is different. Jin's leg techniques have no superfluous tricks, only speed, ruthlessness, and accuracy. Like the wind, once it decides to tear something apart, it will never stop halfway.

"Interesting," Long'er muttered to herself, her gaze fixed on Yi You's feet.

"That movement technique is quite something."

Kim clearly saw it too.

His body suddenly sank, and the overwhelming shadows of his legs vanished instantly, while the wind howling across the mountains suddenly quieted down.

Just as Yi You thought to himself that something was wrong, Jin was already right in front of him, kicking out with a straight leg. The force was concentrated into a single point, as if the entire wind vein had been nailed into the man's body.

"A Strike of Wind and Thunder".

boom!

As soon as Yiyou crossed her arms and put them up, her face turned pale.

The force didn't just knock him away; it drilled into his bones and muscles, making his chest numb and causing the water beneath his feet to sway for a beat. In a fight between masters, even a beat is enough to kill.

Jin reached out and, with a quick snap of his fingers, firmly gripped the back of You's neck. With his other hand, he used two fingers to press and seal several of You's acupoints.

"Still want to skate?" Jin pulled the person up to his face, his tone so indifferent it was almost emotionless.

"Try one more."

One worry made his limbs go weak, like a sick chicken being held by the neck, his whole face scrunched up in a bitter expression.

"It's not slippery anymore, please have mercy, benefactor."

"This humble monk is truly a monk from the temple, not a thief!"

Jin casually tossed him to the ground. Just as Yiyou was about to climb up, an invisible force pressed down on his shoulder, causing him to bend his knees and kneel back down firmly.

Long'er took two steps closer, looked down at him, and raised her eyebrows slightly.

"Monk, you've mastered such agility, and then you sneaked down from the back mountain in the middle of the night. Who would believe you if you said you weren't up to something?"

Yiyou was about to ramble on, but when he looked up, his gaze suddenly stopped.

The boy had a very faint sword imprint between his eyebrows, as if it were branded there from birth;

Her silver hair was gently lifted by the mountain breeze, and the sheathless black sword was strapped to her back, yet its sword intent could not be concealed.

What's even more deadly is that his eyes hold a coldness and arrogance that are completely out of character for his age. Standing in the mountain wind, he's like a sword that hasn't been fully drawn yet. He may be quiet, but if anyone dares to reach out and touch him, they'll likely be bleeding on the spot.

Yi You's heart skipped a beat, and the old dungeon ghost's words, "The person has arrived," immediately popped into her mind.

"You..." He stared at Long'er, his beady eyes widening in surprise.

"Hey kid, what's your name?"

Long'er didn't like being stared at like that, and her voice turned cold.

"Asking such detailed questions, are you trying to establish a family connection?"

Yiyou was so choked up she almost couldn't breathe, but she dared not show it, and could only manage a dry laugh.

"This humble monk asked casually."

"Your demeanor is unlike that of an ordinary person. If you ever become famous in the martial arts world, I'll be the first to know you."

Jin gave him a cold glance. "Have you finished your nonsense?"

Yi You shrank back, then quickly straightened his expression.

"To be serious, my Buddhist name is Yiyou, and I am from the Motuo Lanruo Temple, and my seniority is not low."

"I went out for a stroll and practiced my skills tonight. I really didn't do anything bad."

Jin scoffed, "You can fool a ghost with that."

Yiyou's eyes darted around, and he wanted to make up another story, but suddenly his nose twitched and his expression changed slightly.

At almost the same time, Jin also raised his head.

The wind has changed.

Just moments ago, the air was cool from the mountains, but now it was mixed with a pungent, sweet, and fishy smell, as if someone had poured a bucket of hot blood into the wind, which then blew down into the night.

"The smell of blood." Jin's voice deepened, his eyes sharpening instantly.

"It's not just one or two people."

Long'er had already placed her hand on the sword hilt, her gaze slightly cold.

"In the back mountain."

A sudden worry made his heart pound, and he blurted out, "The host is on the back hill... Oh no!"

Before he could finish speaking, a burst of dark light suddenly erupted from the forest.

Dozens of fine black needles shot out from three sides simultaneously, targeting the throat, eyes, and heart, leaving no room for mercy.

"Lie down!" Yiyou yelled.

Jin didn't even lift his eyelids. He stomped his feet, his robes billowed up, and he spun around on the spot.

Before the legs even arrived, the wind had already formed a wall. A series of fine, crisp sounds were heard, and the bush of black needles was completely blown off course by the strong wind. Half of them were driven into the rocks, while the other half were swept back the way they came.

Two muffled groans immediately echoed from the forest. The two men in black had their faces pierced by the black needles they had shot out. Before they could even scream, they fell from the trees.

There was another person who hid even deeper, and when the situation turned against them, they turned and left with astonishing speed.

Long'er's eyes sharpened, and the black sword clattered half an inch from her back. A wisp of cold, lightning-like sword energy flashed out from the air, grazing the man's back as it slashed past.

With a hissing sound, the black-clad man's clothes tore open on his back, leaving a trail of blood. He then used the momentum of his charge to tumble into the dense forest and disappeared in the blink of an eye.

"They wanted to silence him."

Jin looked in the direction the man had fled, his tone growing even colder.

Sweat was already beading on Yi You's forehead.

At least half of those needles were aimed at him.

Not only did someone kill the people in the temple, but they also buried him in the grave, clearly indicating that they didn't want to leave even a single survivor.

"Hurry!" Yiyou was truly anxious this time; her voice trembled.

Something big must have happened on the back mountain!

Jin raised his hand and tapped Yi You's shoulder and neck twice to release the pressure points that had been sealed. Then he picked up Long'er and, with a burst of speed, the three of them swept across the mountain path like a whirlwind.

They tore a hole in the night, and the shadows of the trees along the way receded. Before long, a secluded courtyard appeared at the end of the mountain forest.

The courtyard gate was wide open, and a bloody atmosphere filled the air.

As soon as Long'er and Jin Gang landed, their gazes simultaneously turned downwards.

Corpses lay scattered haphazardly on the bluestone ground, monks' robes were soaked in blood, half of the stone lanterns in the courtyard were overturned, the offering table in front of the Buddha was overturned on the ground, and fruit, incense ash, and blood were all over the place.

Looking further in, an old monk draped in a brocade robe lay before the Buddha statue, a wound on his throat almost severing his neck, his eyes staring blankly at the night sky, dying with unresolved grievances.

"Host!"

Yiyou felt as if someone had hit him hard on the top of his head, and his whole body froze.

He was usually carefree and irresponsible, and he hated the strict rules and regulations of the temple. He often complained behind the abbot's back about how old-fashioned he was.

But when he actually saw the old monk lying in a pool of blood, his chest tightened, and his eyes instantly reddened.

"Who did this! Who did this?!"

Long'er slowly swept her gaze across the corpses in the courtyard, her eyes growing colder and colder.

The people on the ground were all killed by the leg technique; some had their throats shattered by a single kick, and others had their heart meridians broken by the force of the kick.

Judging from the method, the murderer was very familiar with the temple's defenses and manpower, as if he had scouted the place beforehand.

Jin crouched down and glanced at the host, gently wiping the wound with her fingertips. Her expression remained unchanged, but her voice was even lower.

"The person just died, and the murderer hasn't gone far."

"Who goes there!"

A loud shout suddenly erupted from outside the courtyard, followed by flames lighting up from all sides.

Hundreds of monks, armed with knives and clubs, poured out from the courtyard walls, corridors, and mountain paths, quickly surrounding the entire monastery.

The person in the lead was none other than Cijue.

He glanced at the corpses scattered on the ground, his facial muscles twitching violently twice. Then, as if finally unable to bear it any longer, he knelt down with a thud before the corpses, his voice choked and trembling.

"Master!"

After shouting this, he suddenly turned his head, staring intently at Jin and Long'er, his eyes filled with grief and indignation that seemed about to burst forth.

"You two demons, you're really ruthless!" Cijue suddenly stood up, flicked his robe, pointed at the two men, and shouted fiercely.

"You killed my abbot, slaughtered my fellow disciples, and even kidnapped my Uncle-Master You. Do you really think my Motuo Lanruo Temple has no one to rely on?"

Yi You was stunned for a moment, then burst into a tirade:

"Bullshit! Where have I been kidnapped?"

Cijue, however, seemed not to hear him at all, staring only at the surrounding monks, gritting his teeth as he said:

"Fellow disciples, you've all seen it! The murderer is right in front of us!"

"If we hadn't arrived in time, Uncle Yiyou would have died at their hands too!"

As soon as he finished speaking, sticks were raised all around, and the monks, enraged, shouted battle cries that shook the entire courtyard.

"revenge!"

"Kill them!"

"Form the Arhat Formation!"

Jin stood up, his gaze sweeping over his surroundings, a faint, cold smile suddenly appearing on his lips.

"The moment the person died, the torches arrived, and the Arhat formation was already set up."

"You've arrived at such a convenient time. Are you here to collect the body, or to find a scapegoat?"

Cijue's face darkened. "You still dare to be stubborn even when you're about to die!"

Jin took a step forward, and with just one step, the paving stones in the courtyard cracked in a circle.

The dozen or so monks at the front felt a tightness in their chests, as if an invisible wall of wind had hit them. They involuntarily took half a step back, and their formation of sticks almost broke apart.

"If I really am the murderer," Jin's voice wasn't loud, but each word was like a nail driven into one's ears.

"None of you are still standing."

Cijue's eyelids twitched, clearly startled by that aura, and then he shouted sharply:

"That fiend is vicious and cruel; don't listen to his nonsense!"

"Arhat Formation, activate!"

The wind from the sticks suddenly rushed in from all sides.

Long'er slowly drew her black sword, its blade reflecting the firelight like a pool of extremely thin, cold water.

Yiyou knelt on the ground, her mind already buzzing.

The abbot died, and almost all the monks in the monastery were killed by the same leg strike, clearly the work of a top-level master.

Cijue arrived far too quickly, and even his words sounded like they had been memorized beforehand. It was clear that he was using this bloodshed to pin the blame on Long'er and Jin.

At this point, how could he not understand?

This is a trap.

A dead end that was set up long ago.

He looked at the corpses scattered on the ground, then at the monks with swords drawn, and finally at Long'er and Jin standing in the firelight, and felt a chill run down his spine.

If it were a real killer, they would have run away long ago after killing the person. Who would carry this burden and crash headfirst into a pile of corpses?

But the scheme has already been set in motion, and blood has already flowed throughout the courtyard. No matter what they say tonight, no one at Motuo Lanruo Temple will believe them.

My throat went dry with worry, and only one thought remained in my mind.

The mountain rain had just started falling when the Motuo Lanruo Temple was already in turmoil.
