Outside the main gate of the palace.

A goblin airship hovered above the teleportation array.

Golden Tooth Gru was discussing something with He Yuan.

Yin Xuefei hovered in front of the airship's gangway, his palm-sized body suspended in mid-air, his small wings flapping rhythmically.

For the first time ever, she didn't use her usual haughty, arms-crossed posture, but instead, unusually, she said goodbye to each of the people who came to see her off in a serious manner.

Hunter Axe, carrying a giant axe, stood at the front: "Be careful on the road."

Laihu stood at attention and saluted, his posture so perfect it looked like he was about to be inspected.

Shi Hu stood beside him, clearly acting as a deputy general.

There was also a dwarf, Mad Mountain.

He currently resides in the human empire.

Yin Xue approached him and raised an eyebrow.

"Why are you still wearing a helmet?"

He was in charge of managing the dwarves who had settled in the human empire, and he didn't need to fight, so wearing a helmet was really unnecessary at this time.

Kuangshan looked indignant upon hearing this and complained in a gruff voice.

"Stop talking! Every time I go to the tavern, humans use me as a stool! I made my own helmet! I'll stab them to death!"

Yin Xue laughed so hard he forgot to flap his wings, and only after falling down a bit did he hurriedly start flapping again, his voice full of schadenfreude.

"Haha, your short, chubby figure really does look like a stool! No wonder people mistook you for someone else!"

She laughed so hard that tears almost came out, and she had to wipe her eyes to steady herself.

Just then, a huge group of creatures surged in from the side of the square.

Leading the way was a black lion-shaped monster nearly ten feet tall.

Its mane was made of bone spurs burning with eerie green flames, and its four feet made a dull echo on the stone slabs when they landed.

Following closely behind was a giant whose entire body was made of dark purple crystals, with eerie purple light flowing through its joints, and each step it took produced a crisp sound like glass rubbing together.

There were a dozen more monsters after that, each with an extremely cool design.

These were the demon minions that Yin Xue had subdued for Lin Mo. In Yin Xue's words, Lin Mo was now the strongest demon king, and these were the future demon generals.

Each one is exceptionally appealing on its own, but the strongest among them is only level 50.

Yin Xue mainly believes that strength can be cultivated later in life, but appearance is something that can be innate.

She was also hoping that these underlings would give Lin Mo the airs of a demon king and make him a respectable demon king.

Unfortunately, after these guys entered the city, they didn't do much of anything worthwhile except make a mess of the streets.

The stone slabs where the black lion crouched would leave corrosive scorch marks; the crystal giant would knock over a bunch of shelves every time he passed through the market; and the three-headed python once took a bath in the moat, resulting in half of the river freezing into ice.

But they truly submit to Yin Xue.

They were genuinely grateful to Yin Xue for rescuing them from the wasteland.

No longer do we have to be chased and eaten by stronger monsters; we can call them "our own people."

Feed them human food.

He Yuan stood to the side, the stack of account books in his arms now tucked under his arm.

He coughed lightly, pushed up his glasses, and spoke in the unhurried manner typical of a Ministry of Revenue official.

"Lord Yin Xue, why don't we bring them all along? The large airship that Golden Tooth Gru sent this time is big enough to fit them all in."

Goldtooth Gru was taken aback: "Didn't you order it? You wanted the largest size, and you even said..."

He Yuan glared at her as she said this.

Yin Xue's eyes lit up, and he suddenly spun halfway in mid-air and clapped his hands.

"Yeah, let's go together! The airship's big enough, it won't sink if we bring a few more... You guys, come with me! Let's go see what's happening in the crevice!"

Upon hearing Yin Xue's words, they were so excited that they almost knocked down the row of newly repaired holy light pillars at the edge of the square.

Yin Xue turned and flew towards the airship's gangway. He suddenly stopped halfway there, glanced back at everyone present, crossed his arms, raised his chin slightly, and resumed his standard arrogant and domineering demeanor.

"What are you all standing there for? This Demon King is going to find Lin Mo in the rift. You all keep an eye on the house!"

After saying that, he turned around and climbed into the airship's gondola without looking back.

The goblin pilot pulled down the control stick, and the hot air inside the airship's gasbag emitted a low hum, while the eight magic cannons simultaneously lit up their standby runes.

The airship slowly ascended, adjusted its direction amidst the golden light of the teleportation array, and steadily sailed towards the multicolored rift of laws in the sky.

Hunter Axe, Stone Tiger, He Yuan, Kuang Shan, along with Shi Qin and Aotemu who rushed to see them off, and the crowds that filled the streets on both sides of the square, all waved to the airship.

As the airship ascended higher and higher, a crimson figure flashed past the porthole before being obscured by the metal shell of the gondola.

Until the airship completely disappeared into the crack in the law.

The square was quiet for about three breaths.

"Finally...they're gone!"

Someone shouted out first, and then the whole city erupted in a thunderous cheer.

Hunter Axe slammed his giant axe on the ground, looked up and let out a long breath, a New Year's smile spreading across his rugged face.

Kuangshan immediately took off his horned helmet and hugged it to his chest, revealing his round face underneath, which was covered in sweat from the helmet, and he couldn't stop smiling.

"Haha, we've been suffering these past few days! All the sheep I grazed by the moat got frozen solid by that snake."

He Yuan chimed in from the side, his tone full of bittersweet relief: "You're lucky. The day Mianmian disappeared, she was in a bad mood and went to the casino. She won everything at all the gambling dens of the four major families in the capital. Now she's their creditor, and those patriarchs are begging me for mercy every day."

"And then there's the tavern incident."

Lai Hu's mouth twitched.

"Before leaving, Lady Yin Xue went to the dwarf tavern to see how much the dwarves could drink. She's only the size of a palm, but she managed to drink all the dwarves in the tavern under the table by herself, and some of them are still asleep."

"Before she left, she gave He Yuan a list with the coordinates of more than a dozen imposing monster lairs, suggesting that he send people to recruit them, saying it was to cultivate talent for the next batch of Demon King's personal guard. I roughly calculated that the travel expenses alone would amount to this much..."

He Yuan turned to the last page of the ledger and handed it to Hunter Axe. Hunter Axe glanced at the number and silently closed the ledger.

Hunter Axe paused for two seconds, slammed his giant axe on the ground, and concluded, "The most irresponsible demon king, this title is well-deserved."

Shi Qin stood to the side without saying a word, only smiling.

She spoke softly only after the cheers in the square gradually subsided.

"But after she arrived, it was as if the whole city came alive."

It was as if he was talking to himself, or as if he was saying what everyone wanted to say but no one dared to say.

The clone left behind by Lin Mo, who had always resided in the palace, also looked up at the airship receding into the distance outside the window, and then revealed a smile.
