Obsessive Young Master Wei: My Beloved Loses Control Every Night
Chapter 88 Bian Zhizhi, Don't Go
Back at my lodgings, the house was eerily quiet.
Bian Zhizhi took a shower, changed into clean pajamas, and lay down on the bed.
The mattress was soft, the blanket smelled of sunshine, and everything was comfortable.
But she couldn't sleep.
The moment I close my eyes, I see Wei Zixian's face.
Many faces are stacked together.
He was indifferent when they first met, vulnerable on the rainy night, putting on a brave face at the company's annual party, burning hot when he kissed her on their last night, and the way he held her, the kind of complete surrender and dependence.
Bian Zhizhi opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling.
She shouldn't be thinking about these things.
They've already left; the relationship has been severed.
Now I need to think about my father's surgery, post-operative care, and my parents' future lives.
But the brain won't cooperate.
She recalled the night she left, in the car, her mother whispering, "Zhizhi, that young master Wei..."
"Mom, don't ask," she interrupted. "It's all over."
ended.
Three words, spoken so easily.
Is it really over?
If it's over, why can she see him as soon as she closes her eyes?
Why was her first thought upon learning that her father was benign, "If he were here, would he be happy for me?"
absurd.
Bian Zhizhi sat up and turned on the bedside lamp.
The light was blinding.
She got out of bed, walked to the corner, opened her suitcase, and took out a sketchbook from the bottom, the one she had used at the Wei family's house.
I was in such a rush when I left that I forgot to throw it away and subconsciously stuffed it into the suitcase.
She opened it.
The first page features black pine trees.
Turn the page to the back, and you'll see the activity room window, a corner of a bookshelf, and the outline of a porcelain teacup for afternoon tea.
Next... is Wei Zixian.
More than one.
There's a profile of him reading, a slightly furrowed brow as he sleeps, and a silhouette of him standing by the window.
She didn't think too much when she was drawing; it was just part of a healing course.
But looking back now, every stroke of the pen revealed his innermost thoughts.
After looking at it for an unknown amount of time, she stuffed the sketchbook back into the bottom of her suitcase and zipped it up.
I went back to bed, turned off the light, and closed my eyes.
She fell asleep this time, but it was a light sleep, with one dream after another.
In her dream, there was a long corridor in the Wei residence. She kept walking, but she could never reach the end.
There were footsteps behind me, very light, but they kept following.
She dared not look back, she could only keep walking and walking.
Then she heard his voice, very soft, like a sigh:
"Bian Zhizhi, don't go."
She woke up with a start.
It was still dark outside the window, the sky a deep blue, close to dawn.
The room was cold, and she realized she was covered in a cold sweat.
The phone is on the bedside table, its screen black.
Her phone was off, and there were almost no contacts on it.
But she just stared at the dark screen, as if it would suddenly light up and display a name.
It remained black.
Bian Zhizhi lay back down, pulled the blanket over her head, and lay there with her eyes open in the darkness until dawn.
*
Wei Yanqiu finally couldn't take it anymore.
She hadn't slept much for 72 hours, and the dark circles under her eyes couldn't be covered by even the thickest foundation.
The coffee that Butler Li brought her went cold and was reheated again, but she didn't touch it.
"Miss, why don't you go and rest for a while?" Butler Li advised in a low voice. "I'll keep watch over the young master..."
"What's he making?" Wei Yanqiu interrupted him, her voice hoarse. "Besides breathing, is there anything else he's making?"
Butler Li remained silent.
Wei Yanqiu stood up, and his vision went black for a moment.
She steadied herself by holding onto the table: "Go get the spare key."
"Miss……"
"go."
Butler Li sighed and turned to fetch it.
Wei Yanqiu stood outside her younger brother's room, her hands trembling.
She took a deep breath and then said to the door, "Zixian, your sister is coming in."
no respond.
She inserted the key and turned it.
The door opened a crack.
The next second, an object came crashing down with a whoosh, slamming into the door frame with a bang, scattering fragments everywhere!
Wei Yanqiu screamed and backed away, covering her face.
A shard of porcelain grazed her cheekbone, causing a burning pain, and warm liquid flowed down her cheek.
She looked down and saw the scattered fragments of a celadon vase at her feet. It was his favorite vase, a gift from his mother for his eighteenth birthday.
Inside the room, Wei Zixian stood by the window, backlit, his figure a black silhouette.
He was also holding another porcelain bottle in his hand, one of the pair, his fingers gripping the bottle tightly.
"Get out." His voice was hoarse and he hadn't eaten or drunk anything for three days.
"Zixian, I'm just worried about you. You haven't eaten for three days. At least drink some water..."
Wei Yanqiu tried to move forward, stepping on the porcelain shards.
The second porcelain bottle smashed at her feet, shards flying and cutting her ankle.
Blood seeped out, spreading a dark red stain on the stockings.
"I said get out!" Wei Zixian roared, his eyes bloodshot. "Get out! I don't want to see you! I don't want to see anyone!"
"Zixian—" Wei Yanqiu's tears fell, mixed with the blood on her face, "Sister was wrong, sister was really wrong, can you eat something first?"
Let's talk this out slowly, you can do whatever you want...
"You're the one who made her leave!" He interrupted her, walking over step by step and stopping two meters away from her, his body trembling with excitement. "Do you know how hard I tried?"
During those two hours at the company's annual meeting, I wanted to escape every second; every breath felt like swallowing shards of glass.
"But I persevered because I promised her I wouldn't let her worry."
"I did it... I thought that because I did it, I could..."
He choked up, unable to continue, his chest heaving violently.
Tears rolled down his cheeks.
Wei Yanqiu's heart was scalded by those tears.
"I'm sorry, Zixian, I'm so sorry..." she sobbed incoherently, "I really didn't know it would turn out like this, I thought it was the best thing for you and for her..."
"What do you think?" Wei Zixian laughed, a twisted and painful laugh, more unsightly than a cry. "You're always using 'what you think' to decide my life!"
Five years ago, you thought locking me up at home was for my own good.
"Three months ago, you thought that hiring a new therapist would cure me."
"Now you think letting her leave is for our own good!"
"Wei Yanqiu, did you ask me? Did you ask me what I wanted?"
His voice lowered, becoming a muttered monologue, but every word was like a knife:
"I want her. I just want her back."
Wei Yanqiu felt as if her heart was being torn apart. She wanted to step forward and hug him, but Wei Zixian took a step back, his eyes instantly turning wary.
"Get out," he repeated, his voice utterly exhausted.
Wei Yanqiu looked into his eyes.
Something inside was completely shattered and could never be put back together.
She suddenly realized that she might have lost a part of her brother forever.
The younger brother who still showed her some dependence and trust.
She eventually retreated, each step landing on the porcelain shards as if stepping on her own heart.
The door closed and locked again in front of her.
She slid down onto the floor against the door, covered her face, and wept silently.
Blood and tears were mixed together.
Butler Li rushed over and gasped when he saw the injury on her face: "Miss, your face..."
"It's nothing." Wei Yanqiu wiped his face, stood up, and swayed slightly. "Go find a doctor, the best psychologist, a trauma specialist. No matter how much it costs, get them here."
"But young master..."
"Go and invite them!" she said sharply, then her voice lowered, filled with despair, "We have to...do something."
Otherwise, she would go mad watching her younger brother die inch by inch before her eyes.
