It was an amusement park.

It's not a large theme park, but rather a small amusement park built in a commercial area.

There are carousels, mini roller coasters, bumper cars, and a Ferris wheel that glows and slowly turns in the night sky.

The entrance to the park was decorated with colorful lights and balloons, and the faint sound of music could be heard—a cheerful nursery rhyme.

But strangely, there were almost no people inside.

It should have been a lively time.

"Would you like to go in and take a look?" Bian Zhizhi asked.

Wei Zixian withdrew his gaze, lowered his head, and said in a muffled voice, "I've already taken up too much of your time today, so I'll pass."

There was a cautious restraint in his tone.

She suddenly realized that Wei Zixian's childhood was filled with being trapped in a cellar and bullied, but there was no amusement park.

His gaze just now wasn't one of curiosity.

It is something to yearn for.

Bian Zhizhi's heart softened like a puddle of water.

"It's okay," she said softly. "I wanted to play."

Wei Zixian suddenly raised his head, his eyes brightened for a moment, but then quickly dimmed again.

"Really?" he asked cautiously. "You're not just trying to fool me, are you?"

"Really." Bian Zhizhi smiled at him. "I loved amusement parks when I was little, but my family wasn't well-off, so I didn't go often."

Now that I'm older, I'm always busy and don't have time to go. I just happened to be passing by today and thought I'd check it out.

She was telling the truth.

Wei Zixian couldn't help but smile, but he forced it down.

He seemed worried that if he appeared too happy, she might change her mind.

"Then... shall we play for a while?" he asked tentatively.

"Okay." Bian Zhizhi nodded.

At the entrance of the amusement park, only one staff member at the ticket booth was yawning.

Seeing them approach, the staff immediately perked up: "Would you two like to play? There aren't many people today, so there's no need to queue for any of the rides!"

Bian Zhizhi bought two all-day passes.

While paying, she overheard a staff member muttering, "Business hasn't been good these past few days, hardly anyone's come in..."

She secretly glanced at Wei Zixian.

He was looking up at the glowing Ferris wheel, his eyes shining brighter than the park's lights.

That pure joy made Bian Zhizhi's lips curl into a smile.

To avoid being noticed while laughing, she raised her hand and gently pressed her index finger to her lips.

Wei Zixian, though seemingly looking at the Ferris wheel, kept glancing at her out of the corner of his eye.

This action naturally did not escape his notice.

His heart started beating even faster.

Upon entering the amusement park, it was indeed deserted.

The carousel went round and round by itself, its colorful lights flickering on and off.

Inside the bumper car area, the vehicles were parked quietly.

The roller coaster tracks meandered through the night.

The music was still playing, which only made the place seem even more quiet.

"What should we play first?" Bian Zhizhi asked.

Wei Zixian looked around, his gaze finally settling on the carousel.

"That," he pointed to the rocking horse, "is that okay?"

Bian Zhizhi smiled: "Of course."

The two walked up to the carousel.

Wei Zixian chose a white horse, while Bian Zhizhi chose a brown one next to her.

As the music began, the carousel started to turn slowly.

At first, Wei Zixian sat very upright, his hands neatly placed on the armrests, his expression as serious as if he were in a board meeting.

But as the speed increased, the colorful lights swirled before his eyes, and the music surrounded him, his body gradually relaxed.

Bian Zhizhi noticed that the corners of his mouth began to turn up.

He laughed, grinning widely to reveal a hearty smile.

The wind tossed his hair, his sequined shirt shimmered under the lights, and he looked like a piece of ice that had been warmed; his sharp edges were still there, but he was no longer cold and hard.

Bian Zhizhi raised her phone.

"Click."

Wei Zixian turned his head, somewhat surprised: "Are you filming me?"

"Yes," Bian Zhizhi readily admitted, "It looks great."

Wei Zixian's ears turned red.

He turned his face away, but the smile on his lips was still there.

After getting off the carousel, Wei Zixian was noticeably more relaxed.

He dragged Bian Zhizhi to play bumper cars. The two of them each drove a car and crashed around the area.

Wei Zixian was a very skilled driver; he managed to bump into Bian Zhizhi's car every time, but he controlled the force so that she wouldn't feel uncomfortable.

"You cheated!" Bian Zhizhi shouted with a laugh, "You must have practiced secretly!"

Wei Zixian leaned out of the car window, his eyes sparkling: "First time playing, and you're incredibly talented!"

His smile was so radiant that Bian Zhizhi was momentarily dazed.

Is this person really Wei Zixian?

The gloomy and obsessive young master of the Wei family, the ruthless and decisive CEO in the business world, was now laughing like a child who had received a favorite toy, completely losing his composure in the bumper car park.

Tired from playing, the two rested on a bench in the park.

Wei Zixian went to buy water, and when he came back, he was carrying two cotton candies.

"Here you go." He handed the pink one to Bian Zhizhi.

Bian Zhizhi took it and took a bite.

The sugar strands melted in my mouth, cloyingly sweet, yet strangely delicious.

"When I was little, I saw other kids eating this and I was very envious," Wei Zixian suddenly said. "But my family wouldn't let me eat it, saying it was too high in sugar and unhealthy."

He paused, then lowered his voice: "Once I tried to sneak away to buy one. But the housekeeper found out and told my father."

My father punished me by making me kneel all night, saying I shouldn't have such commoner desires.

Bian Zhizhi's heart clenched.

She turned to look at him.

Wei Zixian was eating cotton candy in small bites, his expression very serious, as if he were savoring some delicacy.

"And then?" she asked softly.

"I never did that again. I ate the food they prepared every day and wore the clothes they put together for me."

Wei Zixian smiled faintly, a smile that would dissipate with a gust of wind.

That's probably why he became like that.

Paranoid, domineering, and doesn't know how to love.

Because no one had ever taught him that love should be gentle, about giving, not about possessing.

"Wei Zixian," Bian Zhizhi called his name.

"Um?"

"Thank you for spending time with me today," she said earnestly. "I had a lot of fun too."

Wei Zixian looked at her, his eyes as soft as melting cotton candy.

"I should be thanking you," he said. "Thank you... for still giving me a chance, for seeing me like this."

Just then, a soft melody suddenly came over the park's loudspeakers.

Immediately afterwards, bubbles appeared out of nowhere.

Thousands upon thousands of soap bubbles rose slowly in the night breeze, illuminated by colorful lights in a rainbow of colors.

They floated past the carousel, past the Ferris wheel, and over their heads, like a silent, dreamlike rain.

Bian Zhizhi tilted her head back and stretched out her hand.

A bubble landed in her palm, gently bursting open, leaving a cool sensation.

"So beautiful," she murmured.

Wei Zixian wasn't looking at the bubbles; he was looking at her.

Look at her profile illuminated by the colored lights, look at the light reflected in her eyes, look at the smile that unconsciously rises on her lips.

At this moment, he was willing to give up everything for it.

In exchange for her happiness at this moment.

In her eyes, he was there.

The bubble rain lasted for ten minutes before gradually stopping.
