Obsessive Young Master Wei: My Beloved Loses Control Every Night
Chapter 128 Not bad, Wei Xiaoxian, you've finally figured it out!
The two of them stared at Wei Zixian's phone screen until they received another message from Bian Zhizhi.
The atmosphere in the office changed the moment the location was received.
Lu Fangchi immediately went into battle mode: "Send me the restaurant's location, I'll check the surrounding area right away!"
Wei Zixian handed him the phone and went to the dressing room.
Since collaborating with Little Tree Hole, Wei Zixian has had a complete walk-in closet in his office, filled with dozens of custom-made suits, shirts, and outfits for various occasions.
He made sure that he could appear in front of her in the most appropriate way whenever they "bumped into each other" or "made an appointment".
But today, he stood in front of the wardrobe, and for once, he hesitated.
"You can't wear a suit," Lu Fangchi said while checking the information. "Too formal, like talking business. But you can't dress too casually either, it'll seem like you don't take it seriously."
Wei Zixian's fingers traced across rows of clothes hangers.
The last few items left in the corner were items he had recently had delivered by a designer, who said they were trendy styles for young people. He had them hung up without even looking at them.
"This one?" He pulled out a silver-gray turtleneck sweater, the fabric of which was soft and covered with fine sequins.
Lu Fangchi peeked in, whistled, and exclaimed, "Not bad, Wei Xiaoxian, you've finally figured it out!"
Wei Zixian ignored him and chose a light gray, loose-fitting jacket. The fabric was matte, but the cut was excellent.
The pants are a simple black casual style.
He draped his clothes over his arm and walked to the full-length mirror to compare himself to the mirror.
The person in the mirror still had a cold and stern expression, with clearly defined features.
But this outfit... inexplicably softened that aura of keeping strangers at bay.
There was even a sense of relaxation that he had never experienced before, a sense that he had deliberately created.
At this moment, he was like a peacock spreading its tail feathers, silently displaying his most beautiful side.
"Jewelry," Lu Fangchi reminded, "just a little bit, not too much."
Wei Zixian opened the drawer, inside which were neatly arranged ties, cufflinks, watches, and several simply designed necklaces.
He chose a thin silver chain with a small geometric pendant.
"And this too." Lu Fangchi pulled out a ring from somewhere. "Wear it on your left index finger. It means you're single but long for a relationship. I looked it up."
Wei Zixian glanced at him, took the ring, and put it on.
The size is just right.
"What's around the restaurant?" he asked.
"A treasure!" Lu Fangchi handed over the tablet. "The restaurant is in the business district, and there's a popular amusement park a five-minute walk away. It's not a large one, but a theme park with beautiful lights at night and a Ferris wheel."
Wei Zixian looked at the amusement park photos on the screen, his eyes flickering.
"I'll book it," he said.
"It's all arranged." Lu Fangchi smiled smugly. "From seven to ten o'clock, the place will be cleared out. The staff will cooperate and pretend that business is slow, so she won't feel it's too deliberate."
Wei Zixian nodded, then looked back at the restaurant's location.
"I've also given instructions to the driver," Lu Fangchi continued, "He'll 'suddenly have gastroenteritis' at 7:50 sharp and won't be able to pick me up."
Just tell her you want to take a walk by yourself, and she'll most likely accompany you, since you just helped her a lot and she'll feel bad about it.
Everything is in order.
All we need to do is wait for time to come.
At 7:25 p.m., Bian Zhizhi arrived at the restaurant entrance.
She wore a light blue dress today, the hem of which reached her calves, and a dark blue knitted cardigan over it.
Her hair was loose, with a pearl hair clip tucked behind her ear.
Her fingers tightened slightly as she gripped the hem of her skirt, her eyes fixed on the flow of people coming and going.
Then, she saw him.
Wei Zixian stood by the fountain, casually glancing down at his watch.
The evening breeze ruffled the stray hairs on his forehead, and the streetlights cast a warm yellow glow on him.
That outfit stood out in the bustling crowd like a piece of broken ice that had strayed into the mortal world—cold, yet dazzlingly bright.
Bian Zhizhi was stunned.
She had seen Wei Zixian in many different ways.
But I've never seen him like this before.
The inner layer was a silver-gray sequined turtleneck, which shimmered subtly under the light, like wearing the Milky Way on one's body.
She wore a light gray, loose-fitting jacket over her clothes. The fabric was soft and drapey, and the cuffs were casually bunched up at her wrists, revealing her well-defined wrists.
A pair of black trousers hugged her long, straight legs, the cuffs tucked into ankle boots.
He stood in a relaxed posture, one hand in his pocket and the other hanging at his side.
The delicate silver chain hanging around her neck and the ring on her left index finger were faintly visible in the reflection of the sequins.
He looked up and his gaze fell on me.
He walked towards her, the hem of his jacket swaying gently with each step.
"Sister, I'm here." He stopped in front of her, tilted his head, and asked, "Shall we go in now?"
Bian Zhizhi's face flushed red instantly.
sister.
He hadn't called her that in a long time.
A strange feeling welled up in Bian Zhizhi's heart.
She always felt that his outfit made him look more like a popular model about to have a fashion shoot than someone coming to have dinner with her.
But the way he tilted his head to look at her, with a hint of probing, made his luxurious clothes seem a little more down-to-earth.
"Okay, let's go in."
The waiter led them to their reserved booth, a semi-open space by the window with a view of the street outside.
After sitting down, Bian Zhizhi noticed a small bottle of flowers on the table.
It's not a rose, and it's not a lily.
It's lisianthus.
It's pale pink, with layers upon layers of petals, and it's in full bloom.
Her heart skipped a beat.
At the hospital entrance, the image of the discarded bunch of lisianthus in his hand once again came to mind.
"This restaurant specializes in creative fusion cuisine," Wei Zixian said, pushing the menu in front of her and interrupting her thoughts. "Take a look and see what you'd like to eat."
His tone was natural, as if he hadn't even seen the vase of flowers.
Suppressing her inner turmoil, Bian Zhizhi took the menu and began to read it.
Wei Zixian had clearly done his research, ordering dishes that were rather bland, knowing that her foot injury was still healing and that she should avoid spicy food.
I also ordered a pot of Osmanthus Oolong tea; its delicate aroma helps relieve tension.
"Regarding Xingyao..." Bian Zhizhi finally spoke, her voice very soft, "Thank you."
Wei Zixian paused, his chopsticks still in his hand. "No need to thank me. I didn't do anything, I just... made a phone call."
He spoke casually, but Bian Zhizhi knew it couldn't be that simple.
It takes more than a single phone call to make a powerful company like Xingyao admit its mistakes.
"What they said... that Mi Guang put pressure on me." She looked up at him. "What did you do?"
Wei Zixian remained silent for a few seconds.
"I had someone provide some new evidence regarding Blackstone's lawsuit in Europe," he said vaguely. "They're struggling to survive themselves, so naturally they can't afford to worry about Xingyao, their subsidiary."
"It's that simple?"
"It's that simple."
Bian Zhizhi knew he was downplaying the issue, but she didn't press him further.
Knowing too much about some things can be a burden.
"Anyway, thank you." She repeated, this time with more sincerity, "The little tree hole is very important to me..."
"I know," Wei Zixian's voice lowered, "That's why I..."
That's why they're willing to use any means necessary, even those means that aren't honorable.
He would never tell her about his connections in Europe, those resources that operated in the gray areas.
