Obsessive Young Master Wei: My Beloved Loses Control Every Night
Chapter 110 I'll send you the chapter.
Bian Zhizhi sat in the car with the engine off, only able to use her phone's built-in flashlight for illumination. Just as she was hesitating whether to call a ride-hailing service, her phone screen flickered, the battery ran out, and it shut down automatically.
The light inside the car gradually faded, and we could only barely see the light by relying on the outside light.
She leaned back in her chair, closed her eyes, and waited for the rain to stop.
The sound of rain shut out everything from the outside world.
After an unknown amount of time, a car headlight pierced the rain and slowly approached from behind.
Bian Zhizhi opened her eyes and, through the rain-blurred rearview mirror, saw a black sedan parked behind her car.
The car door opened, and someone got out with an umbrella and walked towards her.
Her heart jumped.
But as the person approached, Bian Zhizhi recognized him through the vague outline of the car window as Chang Xiting.
Almost simultaneously, another headlight illuminated from the other end of the street, and a silver-gray sports car sped towards Chang Xiting's car, screeching to a stop beside him.
The car door opened, and Wei Zixian rushed into the rain without even opening an umbrella.
Under the streetlights on a rainy night, two men stood a few steps apart, both looking at Bian Zhizhi, who was trapped inside the car.
Chang Xiting was the first to react. He quickly walked to the driver's seat, bent down, and knocked on the car window.
Bian Zhizhi lowered the car window, but fortunately Chang Xiting had placed an umbrella on the roof of the car, so she wouldn't touch it and was a short distance away, ensuring that Bian Zhizhi wouldn't get splashed by the rain.
"Zhizhi? Are you alright?" Chang Xiting bent down, maintaining a gentlemanly distance.
"I just finished meeting a client nearby and saw your car parked here with the lights off..."
"The car broke down," Bian Zhizhi said in a slightly hoarse voice. "My phone is dead too."
"If you don't mind, get in my car. It's raining too hard; I'll take you home."
As Chang Xiting spoke, he opened the car door and tilted the umbrella completely over her head.
As soon as Bian Zhizhi got out of the car, Chang Xiting immediately moved the umbrella closer to her, exposing half of his own body to the rain.
Wei Zixian was in a hurry when he ran off the carriage, and didn't even have time to grab an umbrella, but he still couldn't beat Chang Xiting.
The rain had soaked through his black shirt, which clung tightly to his body, and his hair was wet, with a few strands sticking to his forehead.
Rainwater slid down his jawline, and in the dim light, his face appeared unnaturally pale.
"What's wrong?" Wei Zixian's expression worsened the moment he saw Chang Xiting, and his words were tinged with hostility.
"The car is broken." Bian Zhizhi repeated, subconsciously moving closer to Chang Xiting.
This action was completely observed by Wei Zixian.
His gaze lingered for a moment on Chang Xiting's hand holding the umbrella, then returned to Bian Zhizhi.
"I'll take you back," he said.
Bian Zhizhi remained silent for a few seconds.
The rain grew heavier, and the umbrella trembled slightly as the raindrops pounded against it. The dense sound pierced the eardrums, making one feel irritable and restless.
Chang Xiting's umbrella was held steadily over her head, while his own shoulder was already soaked.
He didn't speak, but quietly waited for her decision.
On the other side, Wei Zixian stood in the rain, his eyes fixed on her.
"Thank you, Mr. Wei." Bian Zhizhi responded decisively after Wei Zixian finished asking the question.
"No need to trouble yourself. Mr. Chang, you can take me home."
The moment she finished speaking, she saw Wei Zixian's pupils suddenly contract.
But he had no expression; he just looked at her as if trying to see into the depths of her soul through her eyes.
Chang Xiting spoke up at the opportune moment: "Zhizhi, get in the car."
Bian Zhizhi nodded and followed Chang Xiting toward his car.
Chang Xiting opened the car door for her, shielding her head with his hand, and closed the door after she got into the passenger seat before going around to the driver's seat himself.
The engine starts and the headlights come on.
Bian Zhizhi did not turn back.
But she could see in the rearview mirror that Wei Zixian was still standing there, motionless in the torrential rain, his figure gradually blurring into a silhouette in the rain and the halo of the streetlights.
The car slowly drove away.
After driving for several dozen meters, Chang Xiting turned his head and told Bian Zhizhi.
"There are clean towels in the storage bag behind my seat. My umbrella isn't big enough, so you'll get wet a little. Use the towel to dry your hair, or you might catch a cold."
"Thank you." Bian Zhizhi glanced back; the distance wasn't too far, and she got it without much effort.
As she dried her hair, she casually asked, "How come you happened to be nearby?"
"It wasn't just a coincidence," Chang Xiting said frankly. "I knew you were working overtime tonight, and I was originally planning to come and pick you up for a late-night snack."
When I arrived, I saw your car parked there, but you hadn't come out, so I came to check.
Bian Zhizhi was taken aback.
"You..." She didn't know what to say.
"Don't overthink it." Chang Xiting smiled gently. "It's normal for friends to show concern for each other. But you," he paused, "that Mr. Wei... does he live around here?"
Bian Zhizhi was silent for a moment: "He bought the house next to mine."
The car was silent for a few seconds.
"Do you need any help?" Chang Xiting asked earnestly.
"I know a few good real estate agents who can help you find other suitable accommodations. Or..."
He glanced at her during the green light and said, "If you're bothered, I can talk to him."
"No need," Bian Zhizhi shook her head.
"Moving won't solve the problem. As for talking... there's nothing left to talk about between him and me."
As she said this, her gaze fell on the rain outside the window.
In the rearview mirror, the figure standing in the rain had long since disappeared.
By the time Chang Xiting escorted her downstairs, the rain had subsided somewhat.
He handed Bian Zhizhi the umbrella before she got out of the car: "Are you sure you don't need me to take you up?"
He was a little worried.
"No need, just the third floor." Bian Zhizhi forced a smile. "Thank you so much for tonight."
"Don't mention it." Chang Xiting looked at her. "Get some rest. If the car isn't fixed by tomorrow, I'll pick you up for work."
Bian Zhizhi initially wanted to refuse, but looking into the other person's sincere eyes, she finally nodded: "Okay."
As she passed the third floor, she subconsciously looked at the door of the next room, which was tightly closed, with no light coming through the crack.
But that's not something she should care about; Bian Zhizhi just wants to live her own life right now.
As for Wei Zixian... she hoped that their relationship would always remain just a business partnership.
The hot water from the shower washed away the chill.
Bian Zhizhi dried her hair, changed into clean pajamas, and walked to the window.
The rain has stopped, and the night has returned to its tranquility.
The streets below were deserted, with only the streetlights casting a damp glow on the ground.
Her gaze fell on the street corner, where there was no one.
But for some reason, she always felt that Wei Zixian was still somewhere, staring at the lit window with those obsessive eyes.
She slept very restlessly that night.
My dreams are filled with rain.
