Obsessive Young Master Wei: My Beloved Loses Control Every Night

Chapter 103 Admit it, you haven't let go either.

"So what?" Bian Zhizhi raised her eyes, her eyes slightly red. "Do I have to jump back into the fire?"

"A pit of fire?" Lu Fangchi repeated the word, his eyes filled with complex emotions.

"Miss Bian, I know some things about what happened three years ago. Zixian's methods were problematic; he hurt you, and he hurt himself. But you said it was a pit of fire..."

He shook his head. "He may be stubborn, and his methods may be wrong, but he has never been playing around with you."

"What is that?" Bian Zhizhi's voice trembled.

"Was it the love that almost strangled me?"

Lu Fangchi remained silent for a moment.

"I'm just an observer; I'm not qualified to judge."

He concluded by saying...

"But as his friend, I've seen him at his worst. And that's why I'm advising you, this time, not to confront him head-on."

If he wants to get closer, let him get closer. If he wants to cooperate, cooperate with him.

It's much safer to play by the rules he sets than to provoke him and make him tear off all his pretenses.

He was implying something.

"After all, Wei Zixian is now more capable of getting what he wants than he was three years ago. And he's also more... unable to afford to lose."

After saying that, he patted her on the shoulder and turned to leave.

Bian Zhizhi stood alone in the empty rest area, looking at the endless stream of cars below, and felt a chill run through her body.

There's no escaping it, no way to escape it.

So... is there really nothing we can do but face it?

The next afternoon, Bian Zhizhi arrived at the address she had received, at a detached building located in a quiet park on the outskirts of the city.

This place doesn't resemble an office building; it's more like a high-level research institute, with tight security and a tranquil, almost desolate environment.

The assistant led her to the third floor, through a glass door that required double verification, and the view suddenly opened up before her.

This is a high-ceilinged space, pure white in color, full of futuristic feel.

In the center is a circular platform, surrounded by countless screens and instruments.

The lighting was soft, the temperature was just right, and it was so quiet that you could hear the echo of your own breathing.

Wei Zixian was already there.

He wasn't wearing a suit, just a simple black shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, standing in front of the control panel watching the data stream.

He turned around when he heard footsteps.

"Here you are." He said casually, as if he were talking to any collaborator.

"Get ready, we'll start by collecting basic physiological data and getting acclimatized to the new environment. Don't be nervous, this is just to establish a baseline."

For the next two hours, Bian Zhizhi felt like a lab rat.

She was asked to put on a lightweight headset and several sensors to enter a very basic virtual garden scene.

Wei Zixian observed the data from the side, occasionally offering guidance and adjustments, his professionalism was impeccable.

By the end of the last scene experience, Bian Zhizhi took off the device, her forehead already beaded with sweat.

It wasn't physical exhaustion, but rather the mental fatigue from constant tension.

The other technicians in the lab had left sometime earlier.

In the vast space, only the two of them remained.

Bian Zhizhi tidied up the sensor circuitry, wanting to leave as soon as possible.

"Have some water." Wei Zixian handed over a glass of warm water.

"Thank you, no need." She didn't take it, picking up her bag instead. "Is today's data enough? I'll go first..."

"Zhizhi." He suddenly called her name, not "Teacher Bian".

Bian Zhizhi's movements stopped.

Wei Zixian walked up to her and blocked her way.

"Let's talk," he said.

"If it's about the project, we've already discussed it." Bian Zhizhi took a step to the side, trying to get past him.

He reached out and grasped her wrist.

The force wasn't strong, but it was enough to stop her.

The moment their skin touched, Bian Zhizhi felt as if she had been burned, and she trembled violently, trying to pull away, but he held her even tighter.

"Wei Zixian! Let go of me!" She finally couldn't suppress her anger and glared at him.

Wei Zixian looked down at her, his eyes revealing a familiar yet even more profound vortex.

"Let's talk about three years ago."

His voice lowered, "Talk about why you left without saying goodbye. Talk about how I've gotten through these past three years."

"There's nothing to talk about!" Bian Zhizhi struggled violently. "Let go! Or I'll call for help!"

"Who are you calling?" He twitched the corner of his mouth, but there was no smile in his eyes.

"This is my territory. No one is allowed in without my permission."

He raised his other hand and gently brushed his fingertips across her cheeks, which were flushed with excitement.

"Like now, you can't leave without my permission."

The touch sent chills down Bian Zhizhi's spine, a mix of fear and a long-lost shudder washing over her.

"What exactly do you want?!"

Her voice was trembling with tears.

"Wei Zixian, it's been three years! Can you please let me go?! We're from completely different worlds! I can't bear that kind of... that suffocating emotion you have!"

"Suffocating emotions?"

He repeated it, his voice soft, as if he were talking to himself, or as if he couldn't believe it.

"So in your eyes, all I am to you is 'suffocation'?"

He suddenly pulled her back, and Bian Zhizhi was caught off guard, her back hitting the edge of the lab table, causing her to groan in pain.

Wei Zixian pressed closer, placing his hands on the table on either side of her body, completely trapping her in a small space.

His aura enveloped the area, carrying a powerful sense of oppression.

"Bian Zhizhi, look carefully."

He stared into her eyes, speaking each word carefully.

"The person standing in front of you now is not the madman who could only keep you by hurting himself three years ago."

I have enough patience and the ability to re-enter your life in a way that you can accept.

"I don't need it!" she cried out, tears welling up uncontrollably in her eyes.

"I don't need you in my life! I'm doing great! I'm perfectly fine without you!"

"Is that so?" He looked at her red eyes and suddenly laughed, a laugh filled with pain and mockery.

"Then why don't you dare look at me? Why do you tremble when I touch you? Why haven't you been in a relationship for the past three years?"

Bian Zhizhi looked as if struck by lightning, her face turning deathly pale.

"You investigated me?" Her voice trembled.

"Do I need to investigate?" He raised his hand, his fingertips brushing against the corner of her moist eyes.

"Sister, all your thoughts are written in these eyes. They were before, and they are now."

He moved even closer, their noses almost touching, their breaths mingling.

"Admit it, you haven't let go either," he said in a low voice, as if it were a temptation, or a judgment.

"Otherwise, you wouldn't have come. You wouldn't have knowingly stepped into my trap."

Bian Zhizhi was speechless. Large tears rolled down her cheeks.

She hated her own weakness, hated the lingering memories in her body, and hated him even more for accurately seeing through all her pretenses.

"Don't cry." He sighed, wiping away her tears with his fingertips. The gesture was almost gentle, but it only made her more terrified.

As if to comfort her, he grabbed her hand and pressed it against his left chest.

Beneath his palm, his heartbeat was steady and powerful.

One after another, the warmth seeped through the fabric of the shirt.

Bian Zhizhi tried to pull her hand back as if she had been burned, but he held it firmly in place.

"Can you feel it?" He gazed at her.

"It's still beating. It almost stopped when you left three years ago."
