The transport team stopped in front of the commune's granary, and everyone had just gotten off the vehicles.

Secretary Qin of Niubaotun Commune led a group of cadres to greet them, warmly extending their hands: "Captain Wang, thank you for making this trip today!"

"Secretary Qin, what you're saying is wrong. We're just serving the people, it's not hard work at all," Captain Wang quickly shook hands and responded with a smile.

"Yes, yes! Captain Wang has such high moral character." Secretary Qin smiled broadly, then added, "Look, it's already noon. Why don't we let the transport team members have a quick lunch at our commune canteen?"

"Secretary Qin, I'm so sorry!" Captain Wang said, declining the offer.

Secretary Qin chuckled, "Captain Wang, you're too kind. Our canteen has already prepared everything; it would be a waste if you didn't go!"

"Since Secretary Qin has put it that way, then we have no choice but to respectfully comply," Captain Wang said with a smile, going along with the flow.

The two then exchanged a smiling glance, realizing that their earlier exchange of polite refusals was merely a formality.

Every time the transport team came, the commune would arrange a lunch for them; it had been a long-standing tradition.

Just as Captain Wang was talking to Secretary Qin, a number of commune members who had gathered to watch the commotion had already gathered at the entrance of the granary.

A few daring children even circled around the front of the car, trying to climb onto it, but were pulled back by the adults nearby with a laugh.

Secretary Qin and the commune cadres led Captain Wang ahead.

Li Kaixin, Zhou Zhiming, and the rest of the transport team followed behind, heading towards the commune canteen.

Sun Yingjun deliberately lagged behind at the back of the line, his hands behind his back, walking at a leisurely pace, enjoying the curious and envious glances.

The commune canteen consisted of several spacious mud-brick rooms, with several steaming dishes already laid out on the square tables inside.

There was stewed cabbage with glass noodles, stir-fried shredded potatoes, and a small bowl of braised pork in the middle.

"Please sit down, everyone!" Secretary Qin immediately greeted with a smile. "There's nothing much to offer, please don't mind, Captain Wang and the other staff."

Captain Wang glanced at the dishes on the table and smiled, "Secretary Qin, you're too kind. This food is already quite substantial!"

"Yes! It's good enough."

"The food is much better than what we get in the station's canteen."

The experienced workers at the transportation station also chimed in with agreement.

Only Li Kaixin and others who were returning for the first time were too embarrassed to speak.

Just then, a discordant voice rang out: "The environment is bad enough, but with so many people, how can this little bit of braised pork possibly feed everyone?"

Upon hearing this, the expressions of Secretary Qin and several other cadres in the commune changed.

Everyone looked in the direction of the sound and saw Sun Yingjun being the last to enter the cafeteria, his face showing undisguised disgust.

Secretary Qin, knowing the other person was a member of the transportation team, didn't want to confront him directly. He forced a smile and explained, "Please forgive me, young comrade. Our conditions here are indeed limited."

"Poor conditions? I'm afraid you didn't put any effort into preparing!" Sun Yingjun became even more enthusiastic when he saw the other party back down.

He used to drive for a steel plant in the county, and every time he went on a mission, the other party would treat him to good food and wine.

I thought that once I arrived in Beijing, the hospitality would be even better, but I didn't expect it to be like this.

Captain Wang finally lost his temper and slammed his hand on the table: "If you're going to complain about this and that, then get out of here if you don't want to eat! Don't get in my way!"

"Why should I? Don't think you're so great just because you're a captain!" Sun Yingjun retorted defiantly, plopping down and stuffing meat into his mouth with his chopsticks. "I'm eating it, what's it to you?"

In his eyes, he was just a squad leader, nothing more than a skilled veteran driver. With his own abilities, he could surpass him in a few years.

Sun Yingjun's behavior surprised even the veteran workers at the transportation station who had worked there for many years. Captain Wang hadn't been humiliated like this in public for many years.

Even the commune leaders and Secretary Qin were somewhat stunned, wondering how Captain Wang, who was in charge of the transportation station, could not control his subordinates.

Seeing himself provoked like this, Captain Wang, who had been holding back his anger towards Sun Yingjun, could no longer contain it and was about to stand up and lash out.

Master Chen, who was standing nearby, reacted quickly and grabbed his arm, whispering, "Old Wang, calm down. We still have a mission today. It's not worth getting angry over someone like this."

Captain Wang took a deep breath, suppressed his anger, nodded to Master Chen, and then slowly sat back down on the stool.

Seeing that Captain Wang didn't make a move, Sun Yingjun's smug expression intensified, and he continued in a sarcastic tone, "Oh, so you wanted to hit me just now? Why didn't you? Are you chickening out?"

Li Kaixin couldn't stand it any longer. He walked up to Sun Yingjun, took out a silver needle, and used the same method he had used to deal with Yang Hua'an to insert it.

He then let out a heavy sigh: "Finally, some peace and quiet."

Sun Yingjun suddenly realized he couldn't make a sound, and pointed at Li Kaixin with his eyes full of terror.

Li Kaixin's move surprised everyone present, but also made them feel much better.

Sun Yingjun's behavior just now really made him look like he deserved to be taught a lesson.

Li Kaixin ignored Sun Yingjun and turned to look at everyone with an innocent smile: "Stop staring at me, everyone, hurry up and start eating! We have important business to attend to this afternoon."

Then, he winked at Captain Wang before returning to his original seat.

His intervention was not only to help Captain Wang, but also to vent his own anger.

Captain Wang gave Li Kaixin a grateful look, then turned to Secretary Qin and the other leaders of the commune:

"I'm sorry to have made a fool of myself in front of you all. That comrade was just transferred to the transportation station, and perhaps he's not used to the environment. He's gone a bit crazy and is talking nonsense."

"It's nothing, it's nothing." Secretary Qin, being a shrewd person, quickly changed the subject: "Come on, everyone, let's start eating!"

Upon hearing this, everyone chuckled and picked up their chopsticks to eat, as if nothing had happened.

The atmosphere in the cafeteria gradually became lively.

As soon as Li Kaixin sat down, Zhou Zhiming immediately came over with a sly grin: "Master, you said before that he had a problem with his brain, and I think it's probably true."

"Stop joking around and hurry up and eat!" Li Kaixin patted him with a smile.

"Master, look!" Zhou Zhiming wouldn't give up, pointing to Sun Yingjun's side, "Look at his expression, his eyes are almost bulging out, but he can't make a sound, it's so funny."

Li Kaixin smiled and shook her head, not saying anything more.

Everyone enjoyed the meal, except for Sun Yingjun, who was still standing there staring blankly.
