Time Travel: My Comfortable Life After Going to the Countryside

Chapter 226 I'll make sure he doesn't even know how he dies.

Liu Xiangyang woke up early in the morning, and Chen Jie was still curled up in his arms, fast asleep.

He didn't move, just lay there, watching the light outside the window gradually brighten and shine on her face.

"Hmm," Chen Jie stretched, and the blanket slipped down, revealing her beautiful figure.

She opened her eyes and saw Liu Xiangyang looking at her, then buried her face in his chest.

"Why are you awake so early?" Chen Jie pinched his waist. "Why didn't you wake me up so I could prepare breakfast for you?"

Liu Xiangyang kissed her forehead: "I just wanted you to get some more sleep because you worked so hard last night. Otherwise you'd be complaining about being tired in the middle of the day."

"At least you have a conscience." She scrambled to her feet, and Liu Xiangyang admired her perfectly fair figure in the morning light.

"What? I'm starting to regret letting you go like this. Can I take it back?"

Chen Jie glanced at the slightly raised bedding, found the undergarment that had been thrown on the ground, and put it on.

"I'll make you a pill to undo your regrets." After saying that, she picked up Liu Xiangyang's white shirt from the ground, put it on, and walked out, swaying her slender waist.

Liu Xiangyang lifted the covers: "Brother, I'll feed you again tonight after I've eaten my fill."

During the day, Liu Xiangyang continued to refine the scooter that he had almost finished last week.

Chen Jie was washing clothes next to him, glancing up at him every now and then.

At noon, Chen Jie made some simple noodles, and the two sat in the house eating them, feeding each other bites.

In the afternoon, Liu Xiangyang assembled the stroller, stood up and shook it, and then assembled the small cart.

Chen Jie is making small clothes, shoes and other trinkets.

That evening, Chen Jie cooked a nice meal: "Xiangyang, once I get pregnant with your child, I'll stay home and focus on taking care of your baby."

"Okay, then we'll go get the certificate."

"Yes, Xiangyang, I really hope I can get pregnant right away."

"Then your man should put in more effort tonight. Go boil some water."

It was late at night, the water was boiled, and the house kept creaking and groaning, probably because the furniture wasn't assembled properly.

When Liu Xiangyang got up early Monday morning, it was still dark.

Chen Jie was still asleep. He tiptoed out of bed, put on his clothes, and saw the leftover steamed buns from last night on the table in the outer room. He took one and started eating it as he walked out.

He paused at the door and looked back.

Chen Jie turned over, mumbled something, and fell asleep again.

Liu Xiangyang turned around, went to the bedside, kissed her on the forehead, and then pushed open the door and went out.

The sky was already beginning to lighten, and the bicycle was leaning against the wall.

He took out some White Rabbit milk candies and Bingcheng red sausages that he had left over from his spatial storage and put them in the bicycle basket. These were for Zhao Xiaoman.

I got on the bike, pedaled a couple of times, and left the alley, then pedaled towards the hospital.

Before dawn, Liu Xiangyang pushed his cart into the hospital gate.

The bicycle basket was stuffed with White Rabbit milk candy and Bingcheng red sausage, wrapped tightly in oil paper.

He parked his car and carried his things back to the dormitory.

The corridor was quiet, except for the sound of running water coming from the washroom.

Pushing open the door to room 206, Wang Dazhu, who had just gotten up and was folding his blankets, looked up when he heard the noise and said, "Hey, you're back!"

Liu Xiangyang grunted in agreement and put his things on the bed.

Wang Dazhu's eyes lit up: "What's this?"

"Some food." Liu Xiangyang took out a red sausage from the oil paper package. "I brought it for you."

Wang Dazhu took the sausage, brought it to his nose, and smelled it with a look of pure delight: "Ice City Sausage! Xiangyang, you're truly my brother!"

Liu Xiangyang ignored him and rewrapped the rest of the items.

"So this is your brother! Come on, let's treat your brother to a meal."

Long queues had already formed in the cafeteria.

Liu Xiangyang carried his rice bowl and found a seat by the window. Wang Dazhu sat down next to him, chewing on a sausage, his cheeks puffed out like a hamster.

"Xiangyang, this sausage smells fucking good! Did your relative make it, or did you buy it?"

Liu Xiangyang: "Bought."

"Could you talk to your relative and ask them to make more next time..." Wang Dazhu hadn't finished speaking when he heard the word "buy" and quickly corrected himself, "Then bring me some more next week, okay?"

"Comrade Dazhu, that's not right of you. The week isn't even over yet, and you're already thinking about next week."

Before he could finish speaking, someone sat down next to him.

Liu Xiangyang turned his head and saw Zhao Xiaoman.

She was wearing a light blue jacket today, and her hair was tied up neatly, but she didn't look well. Her eyes were red, and she had obviously been crying.

Liu Xiangyang looked at her and asked, "What happened? Why are you crying?"

Zhao Xiaoman shook her head, lowered her head and ate her rice without saying a word.

Wang Dazhu, munching on a sausage beside her, said nonchalantly, "Xiaoman, why are you so listless today? You're usually so talkative!"

Zhao Xiaoman ignored him.

Liu Xiangyang glared at Wang Dazhu: "Can't even red sausage shut you up?"

Wang Dazhu shrank back after Liu Xiangyang's words, wisely shut his mouth, and moved his rice bowl to the side.

The cafeteria was noisy, with long queues at the food windows. People walked by carrying their bowls of food, and the sounds of clinking bowls and chopsticks and laughter mingled together.

Zhao Xiaoman kept her head down, poking around in her bowl with her chopsticks, but barely ate anything.

Liu Xiangyang didn't urge him, he just sat there and ate his food bite by bite.

After a while, Zhao Xiaoman suddenly spoke, her voice very low:

"Towards the sun."

"Um."

"I'm finished eating. I have something I want to tell you."

Seeing that she seemed hesitant to speak, Liu Xiangyang emptied the food from his bowl and pushed it towards Wang Dazhu.

"Let's go outside and talk." With that, he got up and left the cafeteria with Zhao Xiaoman.

There aren't many people on the path behind the cafeteria now.

Zhao Xiaoman walked beside him, head down, and only spoke after taking more than ten steps.

"You just left on Saturday... Zhou Zhiming kept me here."

Zhao Xiaoman didn't look up, staring at her hands, her voice even lower: "He said... he could help me stay in the hospital."

Zhao Xiaoman bit her lip: "He said if I was willing to stay with him like Nurse Tang Xiaohong and Nurse Li did, he would help me get a chance to stay in the hospital."

She emphasized the word "accompany" very heavily, as if she were squeezing it out from between her teeth.

Liu Xiangyang looked at her and placed his hands on her shoulders. "And then?"

Zhao Xiaoman looked up at him, her eyes reddening again, but she didn't cry out.

"I rejected him." She said this softly, but her tone was firm.

Liu Xiangyang looked at her.

Zhao Xiaoman was also looking at him.

The two stared at each other for a few seconds.

Liu Xiangyang suddenly laughed.

He reached out, tucked her stray hairs behind her ear, and pulled her into his arms.

"Maybe he's telling the truth. Why don't you consider it?"

Zhao Xiaoman was stunned for a moment, then shoved him away angrily, saying, "Xiangyang, what... what kind of person do you take me for?"

Liu Xiangyang looked at her, feeling her heart pounding and her body trembling with anger.

"I'm sorry, Xiaoman, I shouldn't have tested you." He hugged her tightly as her body twisted in anger.

"Leave this to me. I'll give you an explanation. I'll make sure he doesn't even know how he died."
