"Can't you still forget him?"

Chen Shi spoke in a cold voice.

"Who?"

Sun Jing's eyes flickered.

"Don't play dumb, you know who I'm talking about."

Sun Jing's expression changed slightly, a hint of anger appearing on her face, and her voice tightened.

"Whom can't you forget? Tell me clearly!"

"What exactly do you mean by that?"

Chen Shi stared at her, speaking each word clearly.

"Don't think I can't tell you still care about the thanks."

Having been ruthlessly exposed, Sun Jing's expression shifted unpredictably.

Seeing her reaction, Chen Shi's last glimmer of hope shattered completely.

He took a deep breath and lowered his voice.

"He's never liked you from beginning to end, don't you understand?"

Chen Shi snorted coldly: "He has a girlfriend now, and she's very outstanding. You've seen it yourself. There's no possibility between you two anymore."

Sun Jing stood there, her lips moved, but it took her a long time to speak.

"I know."

She kept her head down, her voice muffled.

"If it weren't for him, why would I have married you?"

Chen Shi was completely taken aback.

Sun Jing looked up at him, her eyes reddening.

"Don't you know what I was like when I married you? Don't you also know that I had someone else in my heart?"

Chen Shi opened his mouth, but couldn't say a word.

Sun Jing took a step forward and took his hand.

"But those are all things of the past."

Her voice trembled slightly, "I know he doesn't like me, he never has."

I know you've always been good to me.

Chen Shi looked at her, and the look in his eyes slowly softened.

"If I wasn't willing, if I wasn't sincerely committed to living with you, why would I have a child with you?"

Sun Jing squeezed his hand, "I just... sometimes when I think about it, I feel a little sentimental."

"I know that what I said today was indecent, and I'm sorry for making you sad."

Chen Shi was silent for a moment, then took her hand in his.

"Xiao Jing".

Sun Jing looked at him.

"I will marry you, and I will not regret it."

Chen Shi said, "We still have a son. Let's not think about anything else in the future, let's just live a good life, okay?"

Sun Jing's eyes reddened again.

She nodded and threw herself into his arms.

"Okay, let's focus on getting the child treated, and once he/she recovers, we'll go home."

Chen Shi held her, resting his chin on the top of her head.

The streetlight shone on the two people, overlapping their shadows.

Sun Jing buried her face in his chest, her eyes closed.

From now on, those inappropriate thoughts should be completely let go.

…………

When she got home, Fu Hua took off her coat and hung it up.

Turning around, I saw Xie Ci standing in the middle of the living room, looking like he had something to say but didn't know where to begin.

She smiled.

"What would you like to drink? Tea or water?"

Xie Ci snapped out of his daze and said, "Anything is fine."

Fu Hua walked to the cabinet and took out a box of ripe Pu'er tea.

"Then brew a cup of Pu'er tea; it's gentle, refreshing, and quick to cut through the grease."

She glanced back at him. "This must be what Auntie gave me last time. It tastes good."

She boiled the water, washed the tea leaves, and brewed them, her movements unhurried and deliberate.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Xie Ci sitting on the sofa, his gaze fixed on her, but he was clearly distracted.

Fu Hua came over with two cups of tea, handed him one, and sat down next to him.

"What's wrong?"

She looked at him and said, "You're stammering like this; it's not like you at all."

Xie Ci took the teacup, but didn't drink from it; he placed it on the coffee table.

He looked at her, remained silent for two seconds, then suddenly reached out, picked her up, and placed her on his lap.

Fu Hua was stunned for a moment, but didn't struggle, and just looked at him.

Xie Ci put his arm around her waist, his face showing a rare hint of unease.

"Don't you have anything to ask me?"

Fu Hua raised an eyebrow.

"What do you want to ask?"

He paused in his thank-you speech, as if organizing his thoughts.

"You are very smart."

He raised an eyebrow slightly. "You must have noticed that Sun Jing's attitude towards you is bad, right?"

Fu Hua looked at him and nodded.

Xie Ci took a breath and spoke again.

There's a reason for that.

Fu Hua didn't say anything and waited.

Xie Ci looked at her with a hint of caution in his eyes.

"I told you, you're not allowed to be angry, and you're not allowed to ignore me."

Fu Hua jumped down from his arms, sat back on the sofa, and took a sip of tea.

"Then stop talking."

She said slowly, "I can't guarantee that."

Xie Ci was stunned for a moment, then pulled up a chair and moved over to sit opposite her, looking helpless.

"If you say that, I'm even less likely to say anything."

Fu Hua lowered her head to drink her tea, a slight smile curving her lips.

Seeing her like that, Xie Ci knew she was teasing him, and he felt a little relieved.

He reached out, took the teacup from her hand, put it down, and held her hand.

"But I must say it."

He didn't want her to have any lingering resentment.

Fu Hua looked at him, waiting for him to continue.

Xie Ci began, "Sun Jing was a member of the arts troupe in the military. We were in the same military region back then. She... pursued me."

Fu Hua paused in her tea-drinking motion.

Xie Ci quickly added, "However, we've never talked about it. I've never been interested in you. From beginning to end, you've been the only one in my heart."

Fu Hua looked at him without saying a word.

Xie Ci seemed a little nervous under her gaze, but he continued speaking nonetheless.

Fu Hua put down her teacup and looked at him with interest.

"And then?"

Xie Ci said, "Sun Jing appears quiet on the surface, but in reality... she's quite bold."

Fu Hua pursed her lips.

"You still say you don't like it? Doesn't that show you know her pretty well?"

Xie Ci was stunned for a moment, then quickly gripped her hand tightly.

"I found out later. She wrote me letters, sent me food and drinks, and pursued me in every way. I didn't agree and tried to avoid her as much as possible."

He paused, then continued.

"Later, at a victory celebration, Chen Shi and I were given a few extra drinks by our comrades. They made a mistake and sent me to Chen Shi's room, so Chen Shi slept in my room."

Fu Hua looked at him.

"I went back to my room the next day."

Xie Ci said, "I saw Sun Jing and Chen Shi lying together, without any clothes on."

Fu Hua's eyelashes fluttered.

Xie Ci looked at her with an open and honest gaze.

"They got married naturally afterward. I was transferred back to Beijing, and I never saw them again."

He gripped her hand tightly, his voice lowering.

"I guarantee that every word I've said is true. Not a single lie."

Women's eyesight.

"Huahua, do you believe me?"

Fu Hua stared at him for a few seconds.

His eyes were clear, reflecting her image completely, without the slightest hesitation.

Does the person she like only have her in his heart? Does he favor her enough?

She could sense it.

Regardless of what the future holds, right now, Xie Ci's heart and eyes are filled with her.

She reached out and touched his face.

I believe you.

Xie Ci paused for a moment, his eyes brightening slightly, then pulled her into his arms and held her tightly.

He bowed his head and kissed her.

At first it was light, tentative, lips touching lips.

Fu Hua didn't dodge; instead, she reached out and hooked her arm around his neck.

The kiss deepened.

His breath was hot, carrying the lingering fragrance of Pu'er tea, enveloping her completely.

Fu Hua was a little breathless from the kiss and her fingers gripped his collar.

Xie Ci released her, his forehead pressed against hers, his breathing slightly erratic.

He whispered in her ear, his voice low and slightly hoarse.

"I didn't get enough fun this afternoon... Can we continue?"
