Battle Through the Heavens: His comprehension is extraordinary, shocking Yao Lao from the very begin

Chapter 442 Medicine Contest

Faced with the crowd's incessant chatter, Xiao Yan sneered: "I am not someone who knows nothing about Canaan Academy."

"What?" The elders were stunned for a moment.

You little rascal, deliberately stealing without knowing the truth?

Xiao Yan said, "Canaan Academy has an unwritten rule for each enrollment period to temper the arrogance of new students, so that they can clearly understand their level and wear down their genius.

"In order to further enhance the effect of the Fire Energy Hunting Competition, even senior students from the inner academy were arranged to guard the gates, trying every means to prevent freshmen from passing."

"And within the inner courtyard, students are even allowed to plunder each other's fire energy for cultivation purposes."

"We're both trying to cultivate, so why are you so angry and upset when it's your turn to have it stolen?" Xiao Yan asked, puzzled.

Although Xiao Yan's summary was very simple, it had already covered most of the situation at Canaan Academy.

Faced with Xiao Yan's final, soul-searching question, the elders were momentarily speechless.

Canaan College has been established for many years, and its rules have hardly been questioned.

Even though some people had doubts, those few dissenting voices were quickly suppressed.

The outstanding achievements of Canaan College over the years undoubtedly validate the correctness of this training method.

As time went by, everyone naturally assumed that the rules of Canaan Academy were a matter of course.

Su Qian did not share the opinion of the elders that handing the Fallen Heart Flame over to Xiao Yan was a bad thing.

The Fallen Heart Flame is one of the strange flames in the world, and over the years, it has even developed a unique intelligence.

Despite the spatial cage's containment, this is merely a temporary measure.

The spatial cage alone could not possibly keep the Fallen Heart Flame locked inside the tower indefinitely.

Flames can be channeled, not blocked. The Fallen Heart Flame is a strange fire born from heaven and earth, possessing true destructive power.

The current blockade of the inner courtyard is like building a fortress on a volcano.

The current suppression is merely storing up power; when it erupts, the Heavenly Flame Refining Tower will be destroyed in an instant.

For these reasons, even though the Heavenly Flame Refining Tower is extremely effective, it cannot remain open indefinitely.

After each period of time that it is open to the public, a group of elders, along with himself, are required to repair the Heavenly Refining Tower.

Su Qian thought for a moment and said, "The Strange Flame is a major asset of the Canaan Academy's inner court. It's impossible to give it to you so easily unless you can serve here for three years."

Given Su Qian's familiarity with the Heavenly Flame Refining Tower, it will be unable to withstand the pressure for about three years and will eventually explode.

Once the Heavenly Flame Refining Tower explodes, it will be extremely difficult to subdue the Fallen Heart Flame that burst forth from the broken tower.

Rather than letting the strange fire sit idle and go to waste, it's better to hand it over to a powerful genius.

"A three-year term?" Xiao Yan was somewhat surprised by Su Qian's answer, then asked, "Can the Heavenly Flame Refining Tower last for another three years?"

Trapping Fallen Heartflame and Salamander together is like making a monkey watch a peach.

Salamanders are special creatures from the magma world. When they die, they drop a bead similar to a magic core, containing pure fire energy.

The Fallen Heart Flame can use this item to quickly enhance its strength.

It is precisely because of this unique environment that the Fallen Heart Flame was able to give birth to a rare intelligence.

Su Qian looked down at the black tower entrance that had emerged from the ground. Recently, the time available for students to cultivate had been decreasing, and he could only make a rough estimate of the potential for the Fallen Heart Flame to erupt.

Just as Su Qian was wondering how to answer, a hunched old man rushed over like a streak of red light, shouting, "Where is Xiao Yan?"

Accompanying them was an elderly man with white hair and beard, whose strength far surpassed that of the other elders.

"Hu Qian, why aren't you doing your job as the vice dean of the outer courtyard? What are you doing here with Old Man Huo?" Su Qian asked, somewhat surprised.

Hu Qian smiled and said, "Elder, it's part of my job as the dean to let outstanding disciples from the outer court participate in the assessment to enter the inner court."

"I just happened to hear that the mysterious genius Xiao Yan has finally arrived at the academy, so Old Man Huo couldn't wait to drag me along," Hu Qian said with a headache.

Old Man Huo is the head of the alchemy department, and he oversees a large number of alchemists.

Because of the special status of alchemists on the continent, the alchemy department is independent of the outer and inner academies, and no one can interfere with their affairs, not even the vice dean.

Xiao Yan glanced at the two of them indifferently. He didn't want to be a good teacher or a student when he came to Canaan Academy.

There are three more important tasks waiting for him.

First, one must obtain the Fallen Heart Flame; second, one must cultivate underground, relying on the special fire lizardmen to quickly increase one's strength; and finally, one must choose a suitable fire spirit.

"You're Xiao Yan?" The old man, known as "Old Man Fire," sized Xiao Yan up from head to toe. "You do indeed possess the aura of a powerful figure, but are you truly a seventh-grade alchemist?"

When Instructor Ruolin brought Xiao Yan's information back to Canaan Academy, it immediately caused a huge uproar.

It wasn't just that Xiao Yan became a Dou Huang powerhouse at such a young age, but also because of his terrifying talent in alchemy.

It was only after about three years that people's enthusiasm waned.

It should be noted that alchemists are the most prestigious profession in the Dou Qi Continent. Due to their special status, any power will treat them as honored guests.

Canaan Academy is no ordinary power; it has a deeper understanding of this than the Gama Empire.

Even in the Central Plains region, a seventh-grade alchemist is an extremely rare find.

However, Han Feng, the disciple of the Medicine Venerable who was once famous throughout the Dou Qi Continent, is now also in the Black Corner Region.

Even with the personal guidance of the Medicine Venerable and the rare fire that every alchemist dreams of, Han Feng is only a sixth-grade alchemist at present.

Xiao Yan came from the extremely remote Jia Ma Empire, so how could he become a seventh-grade alchemist before the age of twenty?

He is considerably younger than Han Feng.

Old Man Huo was highly skeptical and insisted on discussing the alchemy process with Xiao Yan in person.

Su Qian's mind raced, and she smiled, saying, "Xiao Yan, since you are a teacher at the academy and a very talented person, you can exchange cultivation experiences with the other students at the academy."

"Elder Huo is the head of the Alchemy Department at Canaan Academy. If you can surpass him in alchemy, I will consider allowing you to obtain the Fallen Heart Flame as soon as possible."

After taking a slightly serious look at Old Man Huo, Xiao Yan had no interest in competing with him in alchemy due to the vast difference in their abilities.

With a thought, the space around Xiao Yan trembled slightly, instantly summoning the Flame of Life, Liu Ling.

With her focused cultivation within the Endless Fire Domain, Liu Ling's strength has improved considerably.
