The Eye of the South Seas, the main base of Jiahe Security.

Morning light streamed in through the iron bars of the high windows of the base, casting long, thin, grayish-white streaks of light on the concrete ground.

Thiago stood quietly in front of the huge floor-length mirror, slowly putting on the clothes that Jiahe had prepared for him—a dark gray tactical jacket, black trousers, and military boots.

"Click".

The iron gate was slowly pushed open, and Harrison strolled in leisurely with a cup of hot coffee in his hand. He looked him up and down, then whistled, "Not bad, much more smart than that prison uniform you wore before."

Thiago didn't turn around; his gaze remained fixed on himself in the mirror. "Hmm, the size is just right."

"...Are you really sure?"

Upon hearing this, Thiago's hand paused on the hidden button on his cuff.

"That's MI6," Harrison took a sip of his hot coffee, his relaxed expression fading slightly. "Once you go, there's no turning back."

Thiago finally turned around and looked at Harrison. There was still a faint bluish tint under his eyes, but his eyes were different from a month ago—no longer the blank, deathly gray, but carrying a cold, hard, vengeful light.

"You've seen the intelligence on Jiahe too, haven't you?" Thiago pursed his lips. "The hatred of my parents' murder, coupled with the humiliation of being manipulated by my enemies in the first half of my life... I won't die in peace until MI6 is completely eradicated."

Harrison looked at him, remained silent for a few seconds, and finally could only sigh heavily, offering no further advice.

"Okay, then I wish you success."

Thiago slightly twitched the corner of his mouth, giving a smile: "Thank you."

Then he paused for a moment and asked, "Where do you plan to go next?"

Harrison leaned against the windowsill, picked up his coffee, and took a sip. "Thanks to the intelligence you provided, Jiahe Security gave me a pretty good resettlement package. A large sum of money, enough for me to buy a small house in Hawaii with a view of the ocean. After that—fishing, sunbathing, occasionally having a glass of rum on the beach, living a normal life."

At this point, Harrison's face lit up with a long-lost sense of ease and relief: "If you ever happen to be in Hawaii, feel free to come and have a drink with me."

"Definitely." Thiago nodded solemnly.

But deep down, both of them knew that this parting might be the last time they would see each other.

The morning light outside the window brightened a bit more, falling on Harrison's coffee and casting a small, shimmering patch of light on the dark surface.

Just then, footsteps sounded in the corridor, and then Tian Yangyi appeared at the door.

He first nodded to Harrison, then his gaze fell on Thiago, and he said succinctly, "The plane is all arranged, and we can depart at any time."

Thiago knew it was time to part ways.

He turned to face Harrison and solemnly extended his hand: "Take care."

Harrison grasped his hand, squeezed it firmly, and patted him on the back: "Take care of yourself too... Remember, come back alive."

"Um."

Thiago released his grip without hesitation, turned around and followed Tian Yangyi out of the room.

The door closed behind him.

Harrison stood there, looking at the empty room, the smile on his face gradually fading.

He reached into his pocket, pulled out a cigarette, lit it, and took a drag. In the dimly lit room, only that single spark of light flickered.

Harrison said nothing, but very softly exhaled a puff of smoke toward the closed door.

……

On the small helipad outside the base, a dark gray light helicopter was parked in front, its rotor not yet turning, its fuselage resting quietly in the morning light, like a hibernating bird.

Tian Yangzhi took a black metal box from his subordinate and placed it on the side seat of the helicopter. He then handed a brand-new encrypted satellite phone to Thiago and began explaining the mission objectives:

"According to top-secret intelligence we have, MI6 is currently working with the CIA to carry out a covert sabotage mission in the Black Sea region of the Soviet Union—they plan to secretly blow up an advanced chemical plant."

Tian Yangyi paused for a moment: "Of course, this is just the surface. Jiahe's intelligence network has found that there is actually a big conspiracy hidden behind this. Your mission this time is to sneak in during the chaos, try to establish contact with the masterminds behind the scenes, and incidentally... stir up trouble in the shadows and provoke tensions between Ri Buguo and Su L."

Thiago listened silently to the task instructions and nodded.

"The detailed mission briefing and equipment are all in the box," Tian Yangzhi said. "The password is 4444. You'll know how to use it when you get there."

Thiago tucked the satellite phone into his jacket pocket, then looked up at Tian Yangyi and suddenly asked, "You... trust me that much?"

"Um?"

"Aren't you afraid that once I leave, I'll never come back?"

However, Tian Yangyi simply smiled and said, "It doesn't matter if you run away. As far as Jiahe is concerned, as long as you live and continue to cause trouble and bloodshed for MI6, our goal has already been achieved."

Thiago paused for a moment. Then, he smiled too.

"Absolutely," his voice was low and hoarse, filled with suppressed rage and hatred, "that's the only thing I want to do for the rest of my life."

Tian Yangzhi didn't waste any more words. He simply reached out and patted him heavily on the shoulder, then tilted his head towards the helicopter door: "Get on board."

Thiago turned and walked towards the dark gray helicopter, bent down and crawled into the cabin, settling into his seat. He placed the metal case at his feet, fastened his seatbelt, and looked out the window.

"Boom boom boom—"

The helicopter's rotors began to spin, flattening the surrounding grass. The fuselage vibrated slightly, then slowly lifted off the ground, stabilizing itself in the morning breeze as it flew towards the northern horizon.

Thiago leaned back in his chair, watching the patch of land outside the window gradually shrink. The iron gate, the fence, the barracks—all receded inch by inch, until they became tiny grains of rice.

Ahead, the rising sun broke through the sea's boundaries, illuminating the vast sea that had been shrouded in darkness with a bright and clear light!

In the distance, the rising sun broke free from the horizon, casting countless golden rays onto the shimmering sea.

Like a new life.
