With the barbed wire gate breached, the riot at White Stone Camp spiraled completely out of control.

The crowd surged out of the gate like a black tide, the sound of footsteps and shouts mingling together, making the ground tremble slightly.

Some of the refugees, already in a bloodthirsty frenzy, clashed head-on with the guards who had rushed to their aid. Shouts of battle, screams, and the muffled thuds of blunt weapons crushing flesh mingled together; others, taking advantage of the chaos, plunged into the night and vanished in the blink of an eye.

The searchlights from the watchtower swept wildly over the crowd, distorting the figures of those wrestling on the ground into grotesque shapes, like a silent film that was out of focus.

Just as the chaos was about to reach its peak, a piercing siren suddenly sounded in the distance.

"Waaah—waaah—"

Several police cars from Sha Tin Police Station sped from the other end of the road and rushed to the entrance of the camp in the blink of an eye, then braked sharply to block the crowd.

Chen Jiaju was the first to push open the car door and jump out, and was immediately shocked by the situation in front of him - the original iron gate had long since flown away, and at least two or three hundred people were fighting in the open space at the camp gate, and many others were taking the opportunity to run towards the city.

"Damn it!"

Chen Jiaju cursed under his breath. Without a moment's hesitation, he climbed onto the roof of the car by stepping on the front of the vehicle, drew his sidearm, and fired three shots into the air.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

Three gunshots rang out in the night sky, drowning out the noise for a moment. Everyone paused instinctively and turned to look at the man on the roof of the car.

"I am Inspector Chan Ka-kui of the Major Crimes Unit!" Chan Ka-kui raised his gun, his cold voice echoing throughout the area, "Everyone listen up! Immediately put your hands on your heads and squat down! Do not resist!"

However, this brief pause didn't even last three seconds.

"Don't listen to that cop! He's just bluffing!"

A piercing scream rang out from the crowd, spoken with a distinct Southern Vietnamese accent: "These Hong Kong police are just lackeys of the foreigners! They're going to die anyway, let's fight them to the death!"

"Kill them!"

"Charge!"

The initially hesitant crowd erupted again, with over a hundred people turning around and charging towards the police cars, brandishing iron bars and broken bricks, howling as if they were unleashing all the anger they had accumulated over the years onto the uniformed officers in front of them.

As soon as Da Zui jumped out of the passenger seat, a piece of broken brick slammed into the ground at his feet, and the flying pebbles grazed his calf, leaving a bloody gash.

"Damn it—" Big Mouth cursed in pain, quickly raising his .38 rifle in front of him. "Ka-Kui, what do we do now?!"

"What else can we do?!" Chan Ka-kui jumped off the roof of the car, kicked away a thug who lunged at him, and shouted, "Prepare to fight!"

"First warning!"

"Second warning!"

"Third warning!"

After issuing three warnings, seeing that the group of refugees, their eyes bloodshot, were completely unrepentant, Chen Jiaju gritted his teeth, decisively lowered the muzzle of his gun, and pulled the trigger on the thighs of the two thugs at the front.

"Bang! Bang!"

The two refugees at the front fell to the ground, clutching their legs and howling. But the dense crowd behind them did not slow down at all; instead, they stepped over their companions and continued to surge forward.

"Bang!"

After firing the last shot, Chen Jiaju didn't even have time to change the magazine before a burly South Vietnamese refugee pounced on him, waving a section of water pipe that had been taken from a prefab house.

Chen Jiaju dodged the falling water pipe, grabbed the other man's wrist with his left hand, and slammed his right elbow into the other man's ribs.

"Hmm!"

Taking advantage of the moment when the man bent over in pain, Chen Jiaju snatched the water pipe and swung it horizontally, hitting the man's cheek with a "thud." The burly man cried out in pain and fell to the ground.

However, before Chen Jiaju could catch his breath, another blinding flash of cold light appeared from the side, and a skinny man wielding a rusty kitchen knife slashed at his neck like a madman.

Chen Jiaju broke out in a cold sweat and quickly bent down to dodge the other man's cleaver. Then, with a flick of his wrist, he swung the water pipe upwards and struck the skinny man's forearm.

The skinny man screamed as the cleaver flew out of his hand. Chen Jiaju kicked the cleaver, sending it flying under the patrol car, then spun around and delivered a spinning kick, sending the man flying three meters away.

Thus, Chen Jiaju managed to hold his own thanks to his excellent skills, occasionally managing to counterattack and knock down a few officers, but the other officers did not fare so well.

"Thump!"

On the other side, Big Mouth took a solid punch to the chest, staggered and leaned against the car, frantically grabbing a shield to block the attack, and yelled in Chen Jiaju's direction, "Jiaju, where are the reinforcements?!"

"You're asking me? Who am I supposed to ask?! This is really weird! Even if we had to crawl, we should have made it by now!" Chen Jiaju complained loudly while gritting his teeth and dealing with the two burly men's attack.

His jacket sleeve was torn in a large hole, and there were several bloody scratches on his arm. His shirt underneath was already soaked with sweat.

Chen Jiaju finally kicked a burly man away, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and looked up to see that several of his comrades had been scattered by the flood. Some were lying on the ground holding their heads, while others were being dragged into the roadside drainage ditch by the refugees.

Just as the defense line was about to collapse completely, the same sound suddenly came from afar again.

"Waaah—waaah—"

At the bend in the road, one after another, black armored personnel carriers roared in, their warning lights spinning, turning the night sky a mix of red and blue.

PTU, the Hong Kong Island Police Mobile Unit.

When Big Mouth saw the cluster of black shields and batons in the distance, he slumped against the patrol car, panting heavily, and cursed, "They're finally here... If these bastards had been five minutes later, I would have been dead!"

As the vehicle came to a stop, the rear compartment opened, and squads of fully armed mobile police officers filed out, carrying long shields and riot batons, quickly forming a neat defensive line at the camp gate. The visors on their black helmets were pulled down, covering most of their faces, and their footsteps were orderly and heavy, like a moving wall.

"This is the Hong Kong Island Police Tactical Unit! Everyone, immediately kneel down! Hands behind your heads! Repeat, everyone, immediately kneel down! Hands behind your heads!"

The refugees who were still struggling and running were forced to retreat by the unstoppable encirclement. Some tried to continue to fight, but were quickly beaten by the speed of six blows per second and cried out. Others tried to turn around and run away, but found that their retreat route had been blocked.

The PTU's riot shield wall advanced in unison, one step after another, like a tide forcing them back into the camp gate.

Seeing this scene, Chen Jiaju threw the water pipe in his hand to the ground and finally relaxed.

Big Mouth limped over, grimacing and rubbing his shoulder where he'd been hit by a steel bar: "What a night! Didn't get any midnight snacks, but got into a brawl here. Chen Jiaju, if you drag me into this kind of thing again—"

"Alright, alright," Chen Jiaju handed over the mineral water bottle, "Have a drink of water."

Big Mouth took the bottle, took a big gulp, wiped his mouth, and sighed with a serious expression: "Ka-Kui, something's not right about tonight."

Chen Jiaju raised an eyebrow and looked at him.

"Think about it," Big Mouth lowered his voice, "Those refugees are usually very timid. Even if they cause trouble, they'll behave themselves as soon as they see the police. Unlike today, they even drew their guns and we couldn't stop them. This isn't normal..."

"Let's treat the injury on your face first," Chen Jiaju pointed to the corner of his mouth, "It's still bleeding."

"It's just a minor injury. I'll have the nurse stitch it up when I get back." Big Mouth wiped his mouth with his sleeve, then looked at the refugees being forced into the car in the distance. He was silent for a moment, then said, "These people... they must have been driven to desperation by something."

Chen Jiaju didn't reply. His gaze swept across the direction of the camp entrance. The open space had been almost cleared. Scattered iron pipes and gravel had been swept aside, and there were still pools of bloodstains on the ground that hadn't been washed away yet.

Just then, a hand gently patted Chen Jiaju's shoulder from behind, interrupting his thoughts.

Chan Ka-kui turned around and saw that it was Chau Yee, the superintendent of the Sha Tin Police Station.

"Jiaju," Zhou Yi looked him up and down with a smile, praising him, "Thanks to you for bringing people here in time tonight, otherwise... the consequences would have been unimaginable."

"Director, it's my duty!" Chen Jiaju saluted.

Zhou Yi nodded approvingly, then glanced at the chaotic camp in the distance: "Tonight's events won't end here. The higher-ups will definitely send people to investigate. You—go back and rest, and wait for the police station's notification."

Upon hearing that Zhou Yi was going to give him leave, Chen Jiaju immediately became anxious and patted his chest, declaring, "Director, I'm fine! I can continue to stay at my post."

"Alright, alright, look at yourself," Zhou Yi interrupted Chen Jiaju's impassioned speech, waving his hand. "Even if you're a super cop, you should go back and change into some clean clothes first, right? Go back and rest for a couple of days, then come back and report to me."

Chen Jiaju opened his mouth, but finally reluctantly agreed, "Yes!"

He then turned around and walked back to the patrol car, called Big Mouth, and drove towards the city.

In the distance, searchlights were still on in the direction of the camp, illuminating the prefab houses and barbed wire, as if watching over them silently.

On the outermost edge of that chaotic scene, behind an extremely inconspicuous dark bush, Sang Gou crouched in the shadows, quietly watching the police cars and crowds in the distance, his face expressionless.
