Zhang Wen's name

Back in his office, Zhang Wen dialed Qi Tongwei's number.

"Hey, Tongwei, come to my office. I have something here that you'll definitely find interesting."

Qi Tongwei was a little surprised after hearing this. How could Governor Zhang be so sure that I would be very interested?

"Governor Zhang, I'm coming right away."

Ten minutes later.

Qi Tongwei rushed to Zhang Wen's office.

Zhang Wen immediately spoke when he saw Qi Tongwei enter.

"Tongwei, I want to ask Chengdu to investigate Chen Yanshi."

Qi Tongwei was shocked when he heard this. Why did they suddenly want to investigate this old geezer?

"Governor Zhang, it seems that our public security bureau is not allowed to investigate officials."

Perhaps they noticed Qi Tongwei's confusion.

"Tongwei, Chen Yanshi's family was beaten up by Hou Liangping. I sent Chengdu to investigate this matter."

Qi Tongwei burst out laughing upon hearing this.

"I'm so sorry, I'm just too happy. That old bastard finally got his comeuppance."

"Governor Zhang, I'm curious why Hou Liangping would beat up Chen Yanshi's family."

"I don't know the details either. I only know that their family was beaten. I called you here so that your public security department could cooperate with Comrade Lü Liang from the Anti-Corruption Bureau in the investigation."

"Okay, I guarantee I'll complete the task."

Watching Qi Tongwei walk briskly out of the office, Zhang Wen expressed his understanding. What could be more satisfying than seeing your enemy suffer?

...................................................

Back in his office, Qi Tongwei immediately dialed Cheng Du's number.

"Chengdu, put down your work immediately and come to the provincial department right away. I have a task for you to do."

Without asking any further questions, he replied immediately.

"Yes, Director Qi, I'll be right there."

Three hours later.

Cheng Du arrived at Qi Tongwei's office.

Qi Tongwei was very happy to see Cheng Du coming over.

"Chengdu, I called you here because of the case of Chen Yanshi being beaten."

Cheng Du was a bit confused; who would dare to beat up Old Man Chen?

"Director Qi, I don't quite understand, who would dare to beat up Old Chen?"

Seeing that Cheng Du was asking this question, Qi Tongwei had no choice but to explain the whole story to him.

Cheng Du was shocked after hearing this. Was Lu Yike really that fierce? She actually beat up her superior.

"Director Qi, I will definitely investigate this matter thoroughly."

"Chengdu, you need to investigate Chen Yanshi thoroughly. We can't wrong an innocent comrade."

Upon hearing Qi Tongwei's arrangement, Du Cheng immediately understood.

"Director Qi, I will definitely investigate thoroughly and will not let a single bad person get away with it."

Qi Tongwei was very satisfied after hearing this. Cheng Du was reliable and quick to understand.

.............................................

the next day.

Handong People's Hospital.

Chen Yanshi was a little surprised to see Cheng Du and Lü Liang come to the ward.

"What are you two doing here? I haven't committed any crime. I'm the victim here."

Seeing Chen Yanshi's surprised expression, Lü Liang still explained his purpose.

"Old Chen, I'm here on Secretary Sha's orders to investigate the incident where you were beaten."

"Mr. Chen, I'm here on behalf of Governor Zhang to investigate the matter of you being beaten."

Chen Yanshi was a bit flustered. When did Sha Ruijin and Zhang Wen become so harmonious? "Did I report it to the police? Why are you investigating? How presumptuous of you!"

"Chengdu, Lüliang, I didn't report the incident. Have you come to the wrong place? Besides, this is a hospital; it's not appropriate for you to ask me here."

Wang Fuzhen nodded in agreement after hearing this.

"We didn't report it to the police because it was all a misunderstanding."

Cheng Du and Lü Liang exchanged a glance; something was fishy. Why resist if there was no problem?

"Alright, Chen Yanshi, we won't beat around the bush with you anymore. Cheng Du is here to investigate the assault you suffered, while I'm here to investigate your deliberate suppression of Director Qi and your illegal promotion of Chen Hai."

Chen Yanshi's heart sank upon hearing this. "You're still investigating something that happened so long ago?"

"Lü Liang, I'm going to file a complaint against you. You're slandering me. When did I ever suppress Qi Tongwei? And my Chen Hai got his position through his own abilities."

Lü Liang almost burst out laughing after hearing this. Did Chen Hai, that good-for-nothing, really have any ability?

"Chen Yanshi, when we arrived, we had already investigated Li Degui, who handled the case back then. He confessed that you instructed Qi Tongwei to be assigned to the Yantai Township Judicial Office."

Chen Yanshi was a little surprised after hearing this, but his face remained expressionless.

"Lü Liang, I only assigned Qi Tongwei to the judicial office because I thought he was a talented person, so I trained him."

Lü Liang was disgusted by these words. Why the hell don't you arrange for Chen Hai to be sent away?

"Chen Yanshi, what qualifications do you have to appoint an outstanding graduate student from the Political and Legal Affairs Commission of Handong University? And most importantly, the national regulations clearly stipulate that he should receive the treatment of a deputy section chief. Why didn't you implement that for him?"

Upon hearing this, Chen Yanshi broke out in a cold sweat; he hadn't expected this at the time.

"As the chief prosecutor at the time, was it wrong for me to recommend a student to develop in a backward area? I was supporting the judicial development of Yantai Township, and I was doing this for the development of our Handong."

Lü Liang was stumped by the old man's question, and it seemed like it might actually be true.

"Chen Yanshi, even if you have no problem with the allocation, you didn't give Qi Tongwei the treatment he deserved. You can't deny that."

"I'm just testing his will. How could he become the Director of the Public Security Bureau without my testing?"

Upon hearing this, Cheng Du was furious. Who the hell was this person, suppressing their Director Qi like this? Was Director Qi digging up his ancestral graves?

"Chen Yanshi, as Director Lü just said, you are illegally withholding Qi Tongwei's rightful benefits."

"Chengdu, you seem to be from the Public Security Bureau. You have no right to investigate me."

Lü Liang patted Cheng Du and said in a low voice

"Let me handle this. I have evidence of his illegal actions in protecting Chen Hai."

Seeing Cheng Du nod, Lü Liang immediately began asking questions again.

"Chen Yanshi, there's something I'd like to ask you about Chen Hai."

Chen Yanshi finally tensed up after hearing this.

"My Chen Hai is completely innocent, don't wrong an innocent person."

"Chen Yanshi, you say Chen Hai is innocent, but who was responsible for the murder of Wang Xiaoli 15 years ago?"

Chen Yanshi's expression immediately changed upon hearing this. How did he know?

Seeing Chen Yanshi's change of expression, Lü Liang knew that the old man must have been involved.

"Back then, we received a report from Wang Xiaoli that Li Jianshe, the county head of Yanshan County, was corrupt and accepting bribes. It was your son Chen Hai who violated regulations to expose the witness Wang Xiaoli in order to gain merit, which led to her being framed. In the end, this bastard fled abroad. Fortunately, God had eyes and this guy was arrested and brought to justice."

Chen Yanshi panicked completely.

"Lü Liang, my Chen Hai didn't mean any harm at the time. He just wanted to arrest Li Jianshe as quickly as possible."

Lü Liang looked at him with disdain after hearing this.

"I was also involved in this case. I even advised him to protect the witnesses, but he wouldn't listen. He even said that Li Jianshe didn't know we were investigating him, and as a result, Wang Xiaoli was murdered. Let me tell you, Chen Yanshi, your Chen Hai is a complete idiot, a murderer."

Seeing that Lü Liang was getting more and more excited as he spoke, Cheng Du immediately pulled him back.

Upon hearing this, Chen Yanshi collapsed to the ground. He knew Chen Hai was finished. He had made more than just this one mistake. Although it wasn't intentional, it was all caused by his violations.
