Inside Handong University.

Sha Ruijin received a report from the public that some children of martyrs at Handong University had their poverty subsidies withheld.

"Welcome, Secretary Sha, to our school for inspection."

"President Li, I received a report from the public that your Handong University is withholding poverty subsidies for the children of martyrs. Withholding poverty subsidies for the children of martyrs is illegal."

Principal Li and the school's Party Secretary exchanged a glance, sensing that the visitor was up to no good.

"Secretary Sha, there is absolutely no such problem. We always send people to verify the information before issuing poverty subsidies. We even visit the homes of children of martyrs to inquire about their situations."

"Principal Li, I only came to inspect the university after hearing some reports. After all, Handong University is a well-known and reputable university, and I don't want rumors to damage its reputation."

"Secretary Sha, you said someone reported us for illegally withholding poverty subsidies from the children of martyrs. I won't ask who reported it, I just want to know who the student in the report is. Since there's a problem, we should solve it."

"Xiao Bai, take that whistleblower letter and show it to Principal Li."

"Okay, Secretary Sha."

Secretary Bai then showed the anonymous whistleblower letter to Principal Li. Principal Li took the letter and read it carefully. After finishing the letter, Principal Li summoned the department head.

"Director Zhao, do you have a student named Wang Xiaohong in your department?"

"Principal Li, I'll go check it out. Please wait a moment."

A moment later, Director Zhao returned jogging after finishing his investigation.

"Reporting to Principal Li, we do have a student in our Finance Department named Wang Xiaohong."

"Have someone go and invite this student over. Be polite, don't frighten him."

"Principal Li, when I checked just now, I notified them about the lecturer. They should be on their way now."

Five minutes later, the classmate named Wang Xiaohong arrived at the scene.

"Dear leaders, what is it you wanted to do for me?" Wang Xiaohong asked in a soft, gentle voice.

When the leaders saw Wang Xiaohong's gentle and weak appearance, they were instantly overcome with a protective instinct.

"Wang Xiaohong, we received a report that your poverty allowance for the children of martyrs has been withheld. Is this true?"

"Principal Li, that's not true. I just feel like I've gained a little weight recently and want to lose some. So lately I've been eating only one steamed bun and a plate of pickled vegetables for each meal."

Everyone was speechless for a moment. Principal Li and the other school leaders breathed a sigh of relief.

"Secretary Sha, now that we've investigated the situation, it's almost lunchtime. Let's go to the canteen for a quick meal."

"Principal Li, now that the investigation is complete, let's go and try the food at your Handong University."

The group then went to the largest cafeteria at Handong University, but since classes hadn't ended yet, there were very few people there.

Sha Ruijin found a seat and sat down.

"Wang Xiaohong, how are you doing at school? Have you been bullied?"

"Hello, leader, I'm doing well at school. My classmates are very kind to me because I'm the child of a martyr. As for that letter of complaint, it was probably delivered by a kind person who saw that I had only been eating steamed buns for a week."

"Don't call me 'leader,' just call me Uncle Sha. I'm also a child of a martyr. And don't worry, since it's a misunderstanding, we won't investigate it further. Xiao Bai, give Xiao Hua a business card."

Secretary Bai immediately took out a business card from her briefcase and handed it to Wang Xiaohong. Wang Xiaohong excitedly accepted it.

"Thank you, Uncle Sha. May I show this business card to my classmates?"

"No problem, as long as you don't give it away. If anyone bullies you in the future, you can call me. This is my private number, you know."

During their conversation, Principal Li brought over several boxed meals on a trolley.

"Secretary Sha, there's not much food, please don't mind."

"Principal Li, four dishes and a soup is quite good. Do the students want this too?"

"Pretty much, pretty much, the dishes are the same, except ours were cooked separately by the chef."

"Principal Li, the food tastes good! But I saw king crab for sale on that blackboard. Principal Li, I have to criticize you for this. Schools are places for learning; how can you sell such expensive things?"

"Uncle Sha, please don't blame Principal Li. Our school has a wish list. Students can vote, and the school will grant the wish of the student with the most votes. There are only a few king crabs, and with so many servings, it's hard for us to get any."

Principal Li gave Wang Xiaohong a grateful look. This girl is truly beautiful inside and out; she seems worthy of being nurtured.

"Little Hong, if it's delicious, eat more. You won't get fat like this, so don't try to lose weight unnecessarily. We should stick to a healthy diet."

"Okay, Uncle Sha, you should eat too. This is delicious, it's my favorite, and this too."

Seeing the girl like this, Sha Ruijin's gloom of the past few days vanished. Indeed, Dad was right; she needed to get out more. The outside world was truly wonderful.

Principal Li was a shrewd man; seeing Wang Xiaohong and Sha Ruijin chatting so happily, he became even more determined to nurture Wang Xiaohong.
