Gu Linlin shoved three notebooks forward, blocking the entrance with an air of self-righteousness.

"Who dares to shield you from these questions tonight? Tomorrow morning I'll go to the medical school's radio station and publicly criticize them, saying they're hindering medical progress!"

After saying that, she raised her chin, her gaze passing over Ye Zhen and heading straight for Gu Zheng.

Gu Zheng frowned, about to speak, when Grandma Gu strode out of the main room.

"Get out of the way."

"Your sister-in-law has been on a plane for over ten hours. Who interrogates someone by blocking the door?"

Gu Zheng gestured towards his grandmother with his lips.

"Did you hear me?"

"The microphone at the broadcasting station is yours; go ahead and take attendance."

Gu Linlin stuck out her tongue, hugged her notebook, and stepped aside.

Grandma Gu pulled Ye Zhen aside, looked her up and down, and her face quickly darkened.

"You've lost weight again?"

She raised her hand and gestured towards Ye Zhen's chin.

"There was still some meat here when I came back last time, but now it's almost all gone."

Just as Ye Zhen was about to explain, Grandma Gu turned and called towards the kitchen.

"Dumplings in the pot!"

"Reheat the chicken soup, and don't serve the braised pork to Zhengzi, put it all over Zhenzhen!"

Gu Zheng took the coat that Ye Zhen had taken off.

"Grandma, I also went abroad."

Grandma Gu glanced at him.

"You went out for a while and ate even more than you do at home."

"There's none for you."

Gu Zheng looked down at himself.

"Do you have any basis for your statement?"

"If I say it's there, then it's there."

Grandma Gu reached out and pushed him away.

Ye Zhen couldn't help but smile slightly.

Gu Linlin, holding her laptop, laughed so hard her shoulders shook.

Grandpa Gu sat at the dining table, his reading glasses perched on his nose.

On the table were the day's People's Daily and several foreign newspapers, with photos of the North American Medical Association awarding medals taking up most of the page.

He folded the newspaper and pointed to the spot in front of Ye Zhen.

"Let's eat first."

"I don't know if an American medal can fill their stomach, but Gu Jia's dumplings can."

As soon as Ye Zhen sat down, six dumplings appeared in her bowl.

Grandma Gu brought over another bowl of chicken soup and placed it steadily beside her.

Gu Zheng glanced at Ye Zhen and tried to take two dumplings from her bowl, but his hand was immediately smacked with chopsticks.

"Pick it yourself."

"That plate was three feet away from me."

"Long legs, stand up."

Gu Zheng had no choice but to put his chopsticks away.

Gu Linlin sat opposite Ye Zhen, her notebook already open.

She endured it for five minutes.

After Ye Zhen finished eating the sixth dumpling, she immediately raised her hand.

"The first question."

"Were there really over a thousand people sitting in the Mayo Clinic's main auditorium?"

"The main hall has 1,200 seats, and the second lecture hall also has closed-circuit broadcasting."

Gu Linlin quickly put pen to paper.

"The second question."

Did the American experts concede defeat on the spot?

Ye Zhen looked up at her.

There is no such thing as admitting defeat in academic exchanges.

Did Cohen back down on the spot?

"Too low."

Gu Linlin's eyes lit up.

Ye Zhen slowly added the second half of the sentence.

"He was looking down as he took notes in his notebook."

Gu Linlin paused, her pen poised.

"Will the FDA commissioner publicly admit his mistake?"

"He revoked the unauthorized injunction and also acknowledged problems with the administrative process."

"It's true that twelve American doctors collectively applied to be your assistant, right?"

"They applied to enter the operating room to learn new surgical techniques; it wasn't about one person assisting another."

Gu Linlin scratched her hair.

"Sister-in-law, if you answer like that, the school newspaper won't be able to be written."

Write according to the facts.

"But the students want to see Cohen bow down on the spot, the FDA publicly surrender, and American doctors collectively become his disciples."

Ye Zhen put down her spoon and reached for the title she had already prepared.

"The Eastern Female Doctor Conquers America in Seven Days".

The word "conquer" was written in thick, black ink, with two red lines drawn underneath.

Ye Zhen removed the pen and crossed out the two words.

"Old Cohen was asking for technical advice, not bowing down to anyone."

"The FDA correcting its mistakes is not a sign of surrender."

She pushed the notebook back.

"It was written that the child survived."

"This is more significant than who wins or loses."

Gu Linlin stared at the crossed-out title, still somewhat reluctant to let it go.

"If the title isn't catchy, nobody will read it."

"The school newspaper is for medical students."

Grandpa Gu picked up his teacup, using the act of drinking tea to hide the smile on his lips.

Gu Linlin snorted and changed the title to "A Chinese Doctor's Seven Days at Mayo Clinic".

"Is this alright now?"

"Can."

Gu Linlin quickly regained her composure and turned the page.

"The seventh question."

"Is the $10 million offer from the Johnson & Johnson consortium real, or is it an exaggeration by the American journalists?"

"The invitation is real, and the blank check is real too."

Gu Linlin lowered her voice.

That's ten million dollars.

"Did you really not hesitate at all back then?"

Ye Zhen picked up a dumpling but didn't answer immediately.

"No, how could I possibly sign such a contract?"

Gu Linlin turned to look at Gu Zheng.

"Brother, when your wife refused, did you feel bad about the money?"

"I feel sorry for you."

Gu Linlin became even more enthusiastic.

"I knew it!"

"I feel bad that they prepared such a big checkbook for nothing."

Gu Zheng picked up his chopsticks and finally managed to grab a piece of braised pork from a distance.

"If she accepts it, I'll tear it up on the spot."

Grandma Gu nodded in satisfaction.

"That's something I can at least hear."

Gu Linlin continued flipping through the pages.

"The thirteenth question."

"Were those four thugs in Chinatown all beaten down by my brother?"

Gu Zheng put down his chopsticks and sat up a little straighter.

This question can be answered in detail.

Ye Zhen glanced at him.

"One suffered a wrist injury, one was briefly unconscious, and the other two were later taken into custody by patrol officers."

"They struck first."

Gu Zheng added.

Grandma Gu's expression changed, and she asked Gu Zheng.

"Are you hurt?"

"no."

"Has it been checked?"

"Dr. Ye examined me personally."

Gu Linlin laughed so hard she leaned over the table, but her pen never stopped.

She wrote and read aloud at the same time.

"After his heroic actions in Chinatown, Commander Gu underwent a full medical examination by Dr. Ye upon returning to the hotel."

Gu Zheng raised his hand and tapped the table.

"Injury examination."

"Delete the words 'whole body'."

"The students love watching this."

"Gu Linlin".

"Okay, I'll delete it."

She verbally agreed, but her pen only added a horizontal line under the words "whole body".

Grandma Gu ignored the brother and sister and gave Ye Zhen another half bowl of chicken soup.

"Ignore them."

"You're not used to American food, are you?"

"fine."

"Has Zhengzi made sure you eat on time?"

Ye Zhen nodded.

"Are you sleeping?" Gu Linlin asked.

Gu Zheng reached out and closed her notebook.

"The following questions have been cancelled."

"This is something a classmate asked me to ask."

"Which student cares what time other couples go to bed?"

Gu Linlin answered in a very serious manner.

"Our entire dorm."

The people around the table burst into laughter.

Gu Linlin quickly snatched the notebook back from Gu Zheng's hands and turned to the last page.

"Ask two more questions."

"I promise I'll leave after you ask me."

She cleared her throat.

"If Americans invite you again in the future, will you still go?"

"If the patient needs it, they can go."

Gu Linlin nodded. "The last question for today."
