Don't go back and think he's a liar.

The saying "a doctor doesn't knock on the door" is something Chen Shi'an always keeps in mind.

"Young man, thank you for reminding me." The old man nodded, his experienced eyes glancing at Chen Shi'an.

There aren't many young people with Chen Shi'an's composure.

I have a feeling that this young man in front of me is calm and composed.

Sitting in this clinic, one feels somewhat like retreating into a secluded retreat.

Just then, the phone rang. The old man answered, "Young man, the person has arrived. I'm leaving now."

Chen Shi'an smiled and nodded.

As the old man walked out, Chen Sixi arrived, wearing a straw hat and with sweat on his face.

"Shi'an! What happened to your aunt? Your dad rushed me here." As soon as he entered the door, Chen Sixi asked impatiently!

"Uncle Sixi, please have a seat." Chen Shi'an gestured for the other person to sit down.

"Your aunt probably has a tumor. I suggest you take her to a big hospital for a checkup," Chen Shi'an said softly.

"Your aunt doesn't know yet, and you should keep it from her too. From what I see, it's early-stage benign and won't endanger her life, but we can't delay treatment," Chen Shi'an said with a smile.

Seeing Chen Sixi's pale face, Chen Shi'an poured him a glass of water.

"Go to a big hospital for a check-up. If you want to get treatment there, then get treatment there. If not, then come back," Chen Shi'an said with a smile.

"Come back, and you'll treat me?" Chen Sixi asked Chen Shi'an in disbelief.

"Early ones, no problem," Chen Shi'an said with a smile. This sounded somewhat boastful.

However, Chen Shi'an was indeed confident, and he had already thought of several treatment options the moment he was diagnosed.

However, it's still best to go to a major hospital if necessary, as they are more authoritative.

So that if he actually cures it, people won't think he's just bluffing.

In life and in business, it's always good to be cautious. Caution can prevent major mistakes and even avoid a lot of trouble.

"Okay, Shi'an, I'll take your aunt with me. I trust you."

"But whether or not they come back depends on the child's wishes," Chen Sixi said, not giving a definitive answer to Chen Shi'an.

Chen Shi'an nodded, not surprised at all. If it were him, he wouldn't have left Zhao Mei with the young doctor at the village clinic either.

This face is still too young. No matter how composed he is, he doesn't have the same dignified presence as those old Chinese medicine doctors.

"Go! The sooner the better," Chen Shi'an said with a smile.

"Mm." Chen Sixi nodded.

"I'll thank you properly later, Uncle," Chen Sixi said. If Chen Shi'an hadn't noticed, and things had really gotten delayed, it would have been a matter of life and death.

"Getting better is the priority," Chen Shi'an said with a smile.

I spent an entire afternoon feeling utterly bored.

Chen Shi'an didn't go home for dinner. He called Zhao Mei and said he would just have a bite to eat here.

I cooked a pot of rice, then stir-fried eggs with scallions. The eggs were from my own farm, golden and tempting in color, and smelled wonderful after they were cooked.

Serve with some scallions and lettuce, dipped in soybean paste, and freshly picked tender cucumbers.

It's incredibly delicious.

After dinner, Chen Shi'an washed the dishes and chopsticks, and night had already fallen.

Chen Shi'an scrolled through his phone listlessly, watching the time slip away second by second.

As the night grew deeper, footsteps sounded. Chen Shi'an frowned. What was this?

Upon looking up, Chen Jianjun's figure appeared before Chen Shi'an.

"Dad, it's so late, what brings you here?" Chen Shi'an asked with a smile.

"Don't even mention it." Chen Jianjun poured himself a cup of tea and drank it all in one gulp.

"Your mom's yelling at you at home!"

"What's wrong?" Chen Shi'an asked Chen Jianjun curiously.

Chen Jianjun lit a cigarette, took a deep breath, and said nothing.

"Tell me about it!" Chen Shi'an said, both amused and exasperated.

Chen Jianjun noticed that Chen Shi'an's expression was somewhat awkward.

"That Zhang Cuifen was harvesting potatoes this afternoon, and I lent her a hand!" Chen Jianjun said in a muffled voice.

Chen Shi'an was speechless upon hearing this.

He knew Zhang Cuifen; her husband had died young. Years ago, he was carrying coal in a mine when a collapse occurred, and he was killed instantly.

Widows often attract gossip and trouble, especially in rural areas.

The idle men in the village would sometimes make a few provocative remarks, and over time, his reputation was ruined.

What wife would want her husband to get close to a widow?

"Is that all?" Chen Shi'an asked with a smile!

"I just helped him up because he twisted his ankle!" Chen Jianjun blushed.

Chen Shi'an was immediately at a loss for words, thinking, "Wouldn't that cause a scene?"

My mom is reasonable, but she can't tolerate any nonsense and can be quite fierce. My dad has gotten a lot of scolding from her over the years.

That's how their generation was, they just spent their lives bickering and fighting, and that's how they got by.

"I'll be staying here tonight; I can't afford to offend you," Chen Jianjun said in a low voice, puffing on his cigarette.

"Huh?" Chen Shi'an looked at his father!

What kind of situation is this?

Sister Hui should be here soon; it's eight o'clock, and the child will be asleep in an hour.

You failed to seduce the widow?

Turn around and let your son put out the fire too, what kind of nonsense is that?

"Sigh!" Chen Shi'an sighed inexplicably.

What should we do? We can't just send the old man back, can we?

"There's nothing wrong with it, but you're staying here. Doesn't that make you feel guilty? Won't Mom be even angrier?" Chen Shi'an said helplessly, looking at the old man.

He is still trying his best.

"He'll probably calm down by tomorrow morning, otherwise he won't have a peaceful night," Chen Jianjun said in a muffled voice.

"Dad! We're men, we have to stand up for ourselves! What kind of man are we to be kicked out in the middle of the night?" Chen Shi'an said with a smile!

"We haven't stood up for ourselves all these years, so what are we going to stand up for now?"

"What nonsense are you spouting? What, is staying one night bothering you?" Chen Jianjun said, glaring at him.

Chen Shi'an was speechless. How could you make being a coward sound so righteous?

So you're thinking you wouldn't dare talk to your mom, but you're so tough with me, huh?

"Fine, tonight's over." Chen Shi'an resigned himself to his fate.

He lit a cigarette and slowly smoked it.

"Aren't you going to sleep?" Chen Jianjun asked.

"It's still early." Chen Shi'an waved his hand and went to sleep. If Sister Hui sneaked up here, something bad would happen.

"Alright then! I'm going to sleep now." After saying that, Chen Jianjun turned and went into the backyard.

At nine o'clock, there was a knock on the door. Chen Shi'an coughed lightly, got up, and saw the figure outside the door by the light in the room.

"Ahem!" Chen Shi'an coughed lightly.

Perhaps because Chen Shi'an hadn't opened the door, the knocking was rather urgent.

Chen Shi'an opened the door, and Sister Hui appeared, her eyes sparkling like water, her pretty face slightly flushed.

It is certainly true that beautiful women are often charming.

"Sister Hui, my dad's here," Chen Shi'an said in a low voice.

The lace trim peeking out from under the coat made Chen Shi'an's eyes water.

A mature woman knows what men like.

"I see!" Sister Hui murmured softly. "Then I'll be going now."

Chen Shi'an nodded.

Watching Sister Hui's departing figure, I felt inexplicably lost.

It's gone, all gone.

There was only the deafening snoring of a middle-aged man.
