The sound didn't need to pass through the eardrum; it exploded directly inside the skull.

puff.

Before the experienced driver could even scream, two jets of blood gushed from his ear canals.

He straightened up and then slammed heavily onto the dusty bluestone slab, his body convulsing.

"Old...old driver!"

The Berserker Dragon only managed to utter half a syllable, the enormous sound waves compressing his chest.

Brother Long opened his mouth, a muffled gurgling sound coming from his throat, and choked out a mouthful of black blood mixed with fragments of internal organs.

He clutched his chest, his knees buckled, and he knelt down at the edge of the pit.

Professor Chen braced himself on the ground with both hands, two streams of blood flowing from his nostrils.

He raised his head, his gaze piercing through the blurred bloodstains to the green will-o'-the-wisp deep within the pit.

"Don't...don't listen!" Professor Chen squeezed out a few words through gritted teeth.

At the bottom of the pit, the enormous mouth slowly opened.

This time, there was no sound.

There was only the sound of friction.

rustle.

rustle.

The black hairs that filled his mouth began to wriggle.

They intertwined, rubbed against each other, and expanded rapidly.

Within seconds, black hair spilled out from the edge of the giant mouth and climbed up the damp, greasy rock wall of the pit.

Extremely fast.

Each strand of hair was as thick as a finger, with sharp tips, and gleamed with a cold, metallic sheen in the dim red light.

"We're up!" Liu Yedao took a step back.

The darkness beneath the abyss is being filled with black dampness.

"Let's go!" Professor Chen grabbed Brother Long, who was still dry heaving. "Run back! Back to the main hall!"

"I can't walk... I can't walk..." Brother Long was dragged two steps, and his broken leg rubbed against the ground, making him shudder in pain.

He pointed ahead.

At the entrance of the main hall, the bronze incense burner that they had destroyed had somehow been turned upside down.

The incense burner was facing them.

Countless identical long black hairs poured out of the incense burner, blocking any escape route.

Black-haired men blocked their way in front, while pursuers from the abyss came from behind.

"Damn it!"

Brother Long cursed and struggled to stand up.

The ghost bride emerged from the shadows.

Her wedding dress was tattered and torn, and her red veil was nowhere to be seen, revealing a pale but delicate face.

She turned her head to look at Brother Long, then stood in front of him.

"Wife, no..." Brother Long's eyes widened.

The ghost bride raised her hands.

The fingernails on all ten fingers grew rapidly, instantly transforming into ten sharp red blades.

Waves of black hair rippled up from below.

Swish!Swish!Swish!

The ghost bride waved her hands, leaving a trail of red afterimages.

The black hair was cut off, and thick black liquid gushed out from the cut, making a sizzling, corrosive sound as it fell to the ground.

But I have too much hair.

Cut one off, and ten more will surge up.

Cut off ten, and a hundred will surge up.

Those hairs seemed to possess some kind of collective consciousness.

They paused in mid-air for a moment, then bypassed the Ghost Bride's attack, flanking her from the sides, behind, and above.

A strand of hair became entangled around the ghost bride's ankle.

Then came the second one, and the third one.

"Get out of here!"

Brother Long roared and picked up the half brick, ready to charge forward.

Snapped.

A thick black hair shot out from below, piercing through Brother Long's right hand that was holding the brick.

"ah--"

Brother Long screamed, and the brick hit the ground.

His black hair tightened rapidly, dragging him into the abyss.

"Brother Long!"

The experienced driver lay on the ground, grabbing wildly with both hands, but couldn't grab anything.

Professor Chen lunged forward to grab Brother Long's leg, but was whipped across the back by another strand of hair, sending him flying and crashing into a stone pillar.

The situation quickly spiraled out of control.

The lancet stood still.

She neither ran away nor cried out.

She simply looked down at the bone token that had been extracted from the guardian in her hand.

[Drug Guide]

The token is getting hot.

The black hair that was originally rushing towards her stopped three centimeters away from the tip of her nose.

They were trembling, seemingly in fear, yet also seemingly waiting.

Lancet suddenly raised the token.

"Stop!"

The cold, clear shout echoed in the empty hall.

Those black-haired people who were frantically attacking the crowd suddenly stopped moving.

The strand of hair running through Brother Long's palm didn't loosen, but it also didn't continue to pull him down.

The hair wrapped around the ghost bride stopped contracting.

All the hair had turned in a different direction.

Thousands upon thousands of sharp hairs were simultaneously pointed at the scalpel holding the token aloft.

At the bottom of the pit, the green will-o'-the-wisp flickered.

[Who...drugs...people?]

That grand voice echoed in my mind once again.

With a hint of doubt and impatience.

Where is the medicine?

The lancet was held very steadily.

She stared at the giant mouth at the bottom of the abyss, her mind racing.

The watchman is the "medicine guide".

The mechanism here is "alchemy".

Therefore, there is only one logical chain: the person who guides the medicine is responsible for sending the "medicine" into the "alchemy furnace".

Now, she is the one who guides the drug.

Who is the medicine?

The lancet's gaze swept over the three people on the ground.

Brother Long is a spirit medium with a special constitution.

Professor Chen carried with him a wealth of folk customs and causal knowledge.

An experienced driver...with keen senses.

In that old monster's eyes, these three were all top-quality "dregs".

If I hand them over, I might be able to live.

But that's not how she does things!

"The medicine is here!"

Lancet shouted.

She wasn't referring to anyone.

She pointed down.

He pointed to the enormous heart melting on the tongue of that giant mouth.

"Taiyin Refinement, Nine-Turn Elixir".

Lancet's voice trembled as she gambled on the fragmented information Professor Chen had previously deduced.

"If the heat isn't just right, the elixir won't form!"

"The watchman is dead, there's no one to watch the fire for you!"

The bottom of the abyss fell silent.

The two green flames flickered violently, as if pondering the words of the lancet.

A few seconds later, the black hair disappeared.

The hair that had been wrapped around everyone loosened and shrank back to the edge of the pit.

Brother Long, clutching his bleeding hand, got up from the ground, panting heavily.

Professor Chen, supporting his back, staggered to the scalpel.

"What are you doing?" Professor Chen asked in a low voice. "Negotiating with the boss?"

"Buy time." Lancet stared straight ahead. "It has logic, and logic can be used."

[The heat...]

The voice came again.

This time, it carried a chilling greed.

[Come down...]

Rumble.

The rock walls at the edge of the pit suddenly trembled.

The faded black hair did not disappear, but instead quickly wove and tangled.

Within seconds.

A wide staircase woven from long black hair extends from the edge of the hall all the way to the giant mouth at the bottom of the abyss.

That's a road to hell.

[Get on...fire...]

The commands are simple and direct.

Refusing is death.

Liu Yedao glanced at the three people behind him.

"Let's go."

She was the first to step onto the staircase of black, greasy hair.

The stairs have a terrible tactile feel.

It feels soft and spongy underfoot, and you can occasionally feel the hair under your feet wriggling, and even hear faint groans.

Brother Long picked up the brick from the ground and held it in his left hand.

"Damn, I've never walked a red carpet like this in my life."
