"Bang!"

The Type 54 pistol in Gu Changfeng's hand was the first to spit fire, and the sound of the gunshot made people's eardrums hurt in the spacious underground stone chamber.

"Find cover! Take turns providing cover! Block the passageway!" Gu Changfeng's voice boomed. With a long stride, he shoved Lin Wanrou and Ya Ya into a blind spot between two large camphor wood crates.

Niu Dan pounced over like a cheetah, half his body blocking Lin Wanrou's path. He gripped the cast iron boning knife tightly in his hand, his eyes fixed on the direction of the passage, his ears perked up, listening to the sounds outside.

Ya Ya squatted between two large boxes, took out the White Rabbit milk candy she hadn't finished eating from the pocket of her tactical vest, unwrapped the candy, and stuffed it into her mouth.

"Dad! Spank them! These big bad guys are too noisy!" Ya Ya shouted in her childish voice, a candy still in her mouth.

Platoon Leader Li patted the empty ammunition pouch: "We came out on a search mission this time, so we didn't have much ammunition to begin with.
