Chapter 116, Lesson 1: Establishing Rules
Zhao Xiaohu felt as if his wrist was welded shut by an iron clamp.
One second he felt like he was the sky over this daycare center, and the next second that sky collapsed, crashing down on his wrist.
"Ouch! Ouch! Let go! You brat, let go!" Zhao Xiaohu's chubby face instantly turned a liverish color, and a snot bubble popped with a "pop," covering his face.
His two lackeys behind him only then realized what was happening and roared as they rushed forward to protect him.
"Hang in there, boss! We're coming to rescue you!"
Meng Yaya was still holding the unfinished White Rabbit milk candy in her other hand, and didn't even look at the two little brats rushing over.
She stomped her left foot on the ground.
"Thump!"
The long-neglected wooden floorboards suddenly trembled, kicking up a cloud of dust. The sound was almost like a grown wild boar crashing to the ground.
The two henchmen were so frightened that they slipped. It was the kid who tried to use the glue as a snack who reacted quickly and sat down on the ground, tripping his companion and sending him sprawling face-first into the dirt.
"It's noisy."
Meng Yaya frowned slightly and chewed the candy in her mouth with a loud crunching sound.
With a slight flick of her wrist, the skill she had honed in the post-apocalyptic world of corpses and blood flowed through Zhao Xiaohu's elbow.
Zhao Xiaohu felt a numbness on half of his body, and the bamboo stick he had been wielding so powerfully just moments before fell to the ground with a clatter.
"You...you know magic!" Zhao Xiaohu cried out, trying to scratch Meng Yaya's face with his other hand.
"Sorcery?" Meng Yaya sneered. "This is called education."
She released Zhao Xiaohu's wrist, and before the chubby boy could land, her two small hands moved with lightning speed, one grabbing the back of Zhao Xiaohu's sailor shirt collar, and the other supporting his round bottom.
Teacher Song Hongxia had just recovered from the shock when she saw this scene, and she was so frightened that she almost lost her soul.
"Ya Ya! Don't fight! Zhao Xiaohu's head..."
She meant to say that Zhao Xiaohu is two heads taller and twice as heavy as you, so you'll be at a disadvantage.
Before she could finish speaking, Meng Yaya took a deep breath and exerted force with both arms.
"rise!"
Zhao Xiaohu, who weighed a full 60 pounds and was like a little meatball, was lifted off the ground by Meng Yaya and held above her head!
The twenty-odd children in the class stopped crying instantly, their mouths agape, their faces filled with disbelief and astonishment.
That scene was too bizarre.
A delicate, three-year-old toddler, barely reaching waist height, was lifting a sturdy, five- or six-year-old boy as if he were a flimsy straw.
Zhao Xiaohu flailed his arms and legs in mid-air, screaming in terror, "Put me down! I'm going to tell my grandma! I'll have you shot!"
"Still being stubborn?"
Meng Yaya glanced at the row of iron hooks on the classroom wall used for hanging coats. They were for teachers and were nailed quite high, about 1.5 meters off the ground.
She took steady little steps, carrying the still-throwing Zhao Xiaohu, and walked to the wall.
"Since you like being the boss so much, then stand taller and let everyone look up to you."
Meng Yaya bent her calves slightly, then suddenly leaped upwards, using the momentum to precisely hook Zhao Xiaohu's collar onto the largest iron hook.
"Sizzle—"
Although the sailor shirt was of good quality, it was quite old after all, and it made a tearing sound that made your teeth ache, but at least it held up.
Meng Yaya landed, dusted off her hands, and looked up to admire her masterpiece.
Zhao Xiaohu was like a salted fish just pulled from the water, hanging precariously on the wall. His toes were still more than ten centimeters off the ground, and no matter how hard he kicked, he couldn't reach the ground. He looked extremely comical.
"Wow--!!!"
After a brief silence, Zhao Xiaohu burst into a heart-wrenching cry.
"Help! Murder! I need to go home to my grandma! Waaaaah..."
Meng Yaya turned a deaf ear.
She slowly walked to the desk where Zhao Xiaohu had been standing, lifted her short legs, climbed onto the stool, and then plopped down in the middle of the desk.
That's the place where Zhao Xiaohu just announced, "This area is under my jurisdiction."
The person in charge has changed.
Meng Yaya took out another White Rabbit milk candy from her pocket, unwrapped it, and waved it at the group of terrified little radishes below.
"Who else wants my candy?"
The two henchmen who had tried to rob him were now huddled together, trembling and shaking their heads like rattles.
Are you kidding me?
Zhao Laoda is already hanging on the wall, are they going to go up there to deliver vegetables? This newcomer isn't a kid, she's a female demon!
"Nobody wants it, right?" Meng Yaya popped a candy into her mouth, her eyes squinting from the sweetness. "Then let's establish a new rule from now on."
She held up one finger and pointed to Zhao Xiaohu hanging on the wall.
"First, anyone who dares to steal again will end up like him—hanged on the wall to dry."
"Secondly, all snacks in this class can only be eaten with my permission. Of course, I won't take yours, but you can't take other people's either."
"third……"
Meng Yaya paused, her gaze sweeping over the child who was stuffing glue into his mouth. "Don't eat weird things, it's disgusting."
"Did you understand?"
Her voice was soft and sweet; someone who didn't know better might have thought she was being coquettish.
The children present nodded in unison, their movements perfectly synchronized, even more so than when they were doing morning exercises.
"I...I understand!"
Even the little girl who had been crying the loudest just now held back her tears and looked at Meng Yaya with admiration.
Only then did Song Hongxia rush over in a flurry, grabbing a stool to try and get Zhao Xiaohu down.
"My little darling! Get down here! Your clothes are going to tear!"
Zhao Xiaohu cried until his voice was hoarse. When he saw the teacher arrive, he suddenly felt he had someone to rely on. He struggled and wailed, "I won't get down! I'll stay hanging there! I'll let my grandma see me! I'll get my grandpa to arrest you and put you in jail!"
Song Hongxia's scalp tingled when she heard "grandpa and grandma".
This old lady from the Zhao family is notoriously unreasonable. If she were to see her precious grandson hanging on the wall, she would tear down the daycare center.
"Ya Ya, quickly apologize to Zhao Xiaohu." Song Hongxia was sweating profusely and turned to look at Meng Ya Ya. "This matter is going to get out of hand if it gets out of hand."
Meng Yaya sat on her desk, swinging her legs, looking completely indifferent.
"Apologize? On what grounds?"
"He struck first, and he took the item first. If he was outmatched and killed, that's because he wasn't skilled enough. Besides..."
Meng Yaya pointed to Zhao Xiaohu's neck, which was red from being strangled, grinned, and revealed a set of small white teeth.
"Teacher Song, don't you think he's much quieter now?"
Song Hongxia was speechless.
Indeed, apart from howling, this troublemaker can no longer kick tables or hit people.
Just then, the nursery door was slammed open with a loud bang.
An elderly woman wearing a floral shirt and with curly hair rushed in, carrying a shopping basket. Two soldiers in military uniforms followed behind her.
"Oh, my darling! Grandma's here to take you home for dinner! Today I bought your favorite braised lion's head meatballs..."
As soon as the old lady entered the yard, she heard her eldest grandson's signature wailing.
The voice was so mournful, as if the person had suffered a great injustice.
The old lady's expression changed, and she didn't even bother to pick up her shopping basket. She threw it to the orderly behind her and rushed towards the middle class classroom with her small feet.
"Who?! Which bastard dares to bully our Little Tiger?! Do you have a death wish?!"
The classroom door was suddenly pushed open.
Grandma Luo spotted Zhao Xiaohu hanging on the wall, swaying like a piece of cured meat.
In that instant, the old lady's blood pressure skyrocketed, and her eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.
"My goodness! Little Tiger! How did you get up on the wall?!"
When Zhao Xiaohu saw his grandmother arrive, it was like seeing a beloved People's Liberation Army soldier! His cries instantly rose eight octaves, and pointing at Meng Yaya sitting on the desk, he tearfully recounted:
"Grandma! It's her! That wild country girl! She knows magic! She even wants to turn me into dried meat!"
Grandma Luo looked in the direction her grandson was pointing.
A little toddler wearing a white shirt and carrying a duck-shaped backpack was looking down at her, with half a candy still dangling from his mouth.
Meng Yaya tilted her head, spat the candy wrapper out of her mouth onto the ground with a "pui" sound, and beckoned to the aggressive Old Lady Luo with her finger.
"Want to fight? Get in line."
