Welcome to Xuan Yue City!

Before I even opened my eyes, a system notification sounded in my ear.

Wang Xing slowly opened his eyes, and what came into view was a city with luxurious buildings and clean roads.

Compared to the dilapidated and cramped starting village, Xuan Yue City is much larger. Not to mention anything else, this street alone must be at least several thousand meters long.

Around the teleportation array, countless players bustled about, creating a lively scene.

"As expected of a system-controlled city, it's much more luxurious than the starting village! I'll change my job first, then grind monsters to level up!"

Wang Xing opened the minimap, located the Summoner Class Change Master, and then sprinted towards it.

A few minutes later, Wang Xing ran up to the Summoner Mentor.

Seeing the NPC "[Summoner Mentor Alice]" above his head, Wang Xing immediately stepped forward. "Hello, I want to change my class to Summoner!"

Alice then looked up at Wang Xing, and after confirming that he was a summoner, she gave him a sweet smile.

"Hello adventurer, it costs 1 silver coin to change your class to Summoner."

He obediently paid the money, and the next second, a system notification sounded.

[Congratulations to the player on changing their class to "Summoner"! Your attribute points have been adjusted accordingly.]

At the same time, a golden light flashed across Wang Xing's body.

[Congratulations on reaching level 11! Health +50, Mana +30, Strength +2, Constitution +1, Agility +1, Intelligence +2, Spirit +2, Free Attribute Points +5, Skill Points +1.]

...

Heaven knows how pleasant it was for Wang Xing to hear this system notification; the experience points he lost were probably enough to level up to level 12.

Most importantly, after changing jobs, not only are the upgrade attributes adjusted, but additional health and mana are also added, which makes Night Raven's "Bloodlust" last longer!

"Mentor, I want to learn a skill."

"OK."

Alice opened the skill panel, and what appeared in front of Wang Xing were four skills side by side, and nothing else.

"Mentor, is it because my level is too low to learn higher-level skills, which is why they aren't showing up?"

Alice gave a charming smile. "No, you can only learn these four skills here. If you want to learn more skills, you can go to the skill instructor in the main city, where you can learn level 50 skills. Apart from that, you will need to acquire any other skills yourself."

Upon hearing his mentor's words, Wang Xing had a look on his face that said, "Are you kidding me?"

"Good heavens! All skills have to be activated manually. Doesn't that mean the gap between top players and ordinary players will become even wider?"

Without giving these thoughts too much, Wang Xing began to examine the attributes of the three skills.

Magic Star Bullet LV1: Consumes 20 mana points to deal 100% magic damage to enemies. Cooldown time: 5 seconds.

Long Weapon Mastery LV1: Accuracy +1, normal attacks deal 90% physical damage, and every fourth attack deals an additional 110% attack power as damage.

Summon Giant Wolf (Animal-type Summoning Skill) LV1: Consumes 100 mana points to summon a giant wolf to fight for the player. Cooldown is 10 minutes after the summoned wolf dies. (The giant wolf's attributes are affected by spirit power and it cannot coexist with other animal-type summoned beasts.)

"Mental Force Combat Technique" LV1: Accuracy +1, when attacking, it adds 10% true damage based on mental force attribute.

...

The reason why summoners are divided into three styles is because of the skills of this class.

If you want your pet to tank the monsters while you deal damage from behind, then learn the "Magic Star Bullet" skill. At max level, it deals 180% magic damage. Although it's not as powerful as a mage's skill, with a pet's support, the total damage won't be too low.

If you want to coordinate with your pet for close-range damage, then learn "Long Weapon Mastery". At max level, it deals 110% attack damage with basic attacks, and every four basic attacks deal an additional 150% attack damage, which is quite considerable.

Although it doesn't have the burst damage of warrior skills, it has the advantage of no cooldown and greater sustainability.

The last approach focuses on increasing mental strength to enhance the attributes of summoned beasts.

The problem is that this build doesn't significantly improve the abilities of summoned creatures; it's far less effective than the Night Raven build.

As for the skill "Mental Force Combat Technique", it is somewhat useless. Apart from increasing accuracy, the additional percentage mental force damage is just a drop in the ocean.

Besides, how could a summoner who mainly focuses on mental power possibly engage in melee combat to deal damage?

Because of the Summoner's skill configuration, this class is weak in physical damage and magic damage. It can tank monsters by relying on summoned creatures, but the problem is that the summoned creatures are not as useful as those of a Protection Warrior.

Defensive warriors can quickly follow commands, while summoned beasts require the summoner to give instructions before reacting, which takes longer and cannot match the player's rapid reaction speed.

Therefore, summoned beasts are not as good at tanking monsters as defensive warriors, and their output capabilities are not as good as strength warriors and mages.

This is why many professional teams don't like Summoners; frankly, they're an all-around but ultimately useless class.

however!

This so-called "useless" profession and its seemingly useless skills are actually Wang Xing's favorite and most needed skills!

Wang Xing's mental strength reached 318 points. After maxing out the "Mental Strength Combat Technique", Wang Xing's normal attacks would deal an additional 159 points of true damage. That's true damage! It ignores both defense and magic defense.

It may not seem like much, but when added together it can be quite considerable.

Looking at the skill attributes, Wang Xing fell into deep thought.

"I definitely need to max out 'Summon Giant Wolf.' All I need right now is a front-line unit. With the Giant Wolf, I won't have to command the Night Ravens to tank damage anymore. Then there's 'Mental Force Combat Technique.' Maxing it out will not only increase my hit rate but also deal 159 true damage, which will greatly boost my damage output."

"As for the 'Mastery of Long Weapons' skill..." Wang Xing looked at his 33 skill points.

学习1级技能需要1点技能点,升2级需要2技能点,而满级是5级,需要5点技能点。

Therefore, it takes 15 skill points to max out a skill. Because skill points are scarce, the Summoner class seems even more useless.

Even with so many skill points, Wang Xing could only max out two skills.

"Forget it, let's upgrade 'Long Weapon Mastery' to level 2 first, and then max out the other two skills first."

Successfully learned the "Mastery of Long Weapons" LV1 skill, consuming 1 skill point and 1 silver coin.

[Successfully learned the LV1 skill "Summon Giant Wolf," consuming 1 skill point and 1 silver coin.]

[Successfully learned the LV1 skill "Mental Force Combat Techniques," consuming 1 skill point and 1 silver coin.]

...

[Successfully learned "Summon Giant Wolf" LV5, consuming 5 skill points and 5 silver coins.]

[Successfully learned "Mental Force Combat Technique" LV5, consuming 5 skill points and 5 silver coins.]

...

Learning the skill not only cost 33 skill points, but also 33 silver coins!

Based on current prices, this is close to 8000 yuan!

However, Wang Xing could afford to spend this amount of money. After all, money should be spent wisely, as the saying goes, "sharpening the axe won't delay the work of chopping wood."

After learning the skill, Wang Xing stretched out his hand. "Summon Giant Wolf!"

As a cyan magic circle appeared, a figure more than half a person's height appeared inside the circle.

As the magic circle disappeared, the giant wolf's form was officially revealed.

With a head height of about 1.5 meters, it is an absolutely enormous creature among wolves, with bluish-green fur that makes it look very majestic.
